The most logical order of events for the solemn traps would be: 1. Warning 2. Scolding 3. Judgment 4. Strike Which would result in you paying exactly 8000 life. Warning takes 2000. Leaving you with 6000. Scolding costs 3000. Leaving you with 3000. Judgment costs half. Leaving you with 1500. And strike would use that last 1500, which game mechanics won't allow you to do, so god wouldn't have been able to fight back when witches strike was launched at him.
@@Gogetossj50 no she's still the girl from the Forbidden spells in the artwork of solemn strike. She's not condemned maiden yet. No horns. No wings. And presumably said strike would've killed her, rather than making her a fallen angel. Strike is likely the theoretical result of what would happen if god still had his full strength after all the other events. Or maybe if she just pissed him off bad enough. The artwork of solemn authority is likely what resulted in the creation of condemned maiden. There's probably a forked path of possible events that either end in solemn strike or eventually become condemned darklord, which currently brings us to the events in Forbidden droplet. It's worth pointing out that the girl from the Forbidden spells is probably the same girl from solemn wishes. Which means she wasn't a celestial being. She's mortal. She likely ascended to the realm of god through some show of extreme faith, and then started causing trouble once she got there. A direct attack from God himself would've destroyed her completely, so I don't think that's part of the same events as the condemned monsters.
@@GeneralNickles If you look the card closely, you can see her Skeletal Wings ( ms.yugipedia.com//a/ac/SolemnStrike-SR10-EN-C-1E.png ). If she was not Condemned Maiden before the Strike, then this strike was what turned her into Condemned Maiden. Also, not all card effects translate well to their lore.
No, in the art God seems unaffected, as he all powerfull and it wouldn't fo anything to him. Most likely he cursed her to be condemned witch, she then struck back and he then banished her to hell and she became a dark lord.
@@liveandletdie4233 no, she isn't. But I said "if darklords have a boss monster", which they kinda don't. But ixchel makes rank 10s. Which means she makes super Dora, Gustav max, and 7 sins. So she's the closest thing to a boss monster darklords have.
Well tbf levels 8s can go into the 7 sins easier infact as for the most part youll only have one of her on board. I will say shes the most iconic card of the deck alongside superbia. One of my favorite cards of the deck don't get me wrong.
I believe that many "new" fairy monsters are machine-like crystal creatures because, after the betrayal of many of his angels, Solemn decided to create new ones that could not disobey him, thus making them more like machines than organic beings.
@@trappestarrgaming3422 actually, the "counter fairies" like Bountiful Artemis, Voltanis the Adjudicator and so on follow this logic (or so I believe). I also think that the Agents were the angels that did not betray Solemn, judging by their connection with the Sanctuary in The Sky. Ironically, they also seem to be the "weaker" angels, which perhaps prevented them from becoming prideful and rebelling.
If Solomon's story is like The Jewish God, then the Darklords are basically the reflection of all the weaknesses and flaws that every religion around the world has but refuses to believe or accept.
@@jakeblancaster8498 Solomon? You mean Solemn? Then yes, it's likely that his rigid and authoritarian behaviour caused the Darklords to rebel, or, they just became proud and caused their own downfall. We don't know much about God/Solemn's personality except that he is judgemental and strict and does not enjoy people meddling with his holy artifacts, while still being a caring father figure of sorts.
I love when card artworks can tell a whole story, think how intricate the effects and artworks and names have to be in order to do this. Sam you should really cover, the world legacy lore cards. There whole story is like that of the duel terminal, from the Orcust, Crusadias, World legacy, Gaurddragons, and my favorite Krawlers. The are so many videos you can make from it, that would be awesome.
@@xaviermaster1 dude I was just talking about that, I don't know why Konami has gone for that. It could be like Issekai (other world anime) exploring the certain achetypal stories. They already have the duel monster spirit world in the anime, so it would makes sense
@@darryljack6612 i think its because konami only use anime as promotional media thats why they need protagonist. Wish they experiment with the anime and only about the monster
I gotta admit this video was awsome, although he got the story wrong. God is all powerful so in witch's strike God isn't struck down but instead after condemned witch strikes back at God he banishes her to hell where she becomes a dark lord.
@@brianaguilar8283 Agreed. People would freak out....Thus when i was a kid teachers were saying satan was in this game or whatever the fck.... 4Kids censored Demon to Fiend etc....They changed everything
@@nikolasota4162 I've been thinking something like this for awhile as well. Right now he's just a boring, weak fusion monster, but he's supposed to be God or something. Would be cool if they made him into a Link-5. Maybe one that takes five fairy types with different names, and he does a Spellspeed 4 board wipe when he hits the field. Kinda putting him up there with the "Star Gods". (Sophia, Tierra, and Avida)
Glad to see you covered the fact that Ixchel and Ixtab are different goddesses. They probably changed the name simply to avoid the suicide association and not because the actual monster takes inspiration from both. I was super excited when they first came out, as prehispanic Mexican gods and goddesses other than Quetzalcoatl are hardly seen in popular media, despite many of them being incredibly awesome. Tezcatlipoca in particular is one of my favorites. I hope they release more Mexican-inspired Darklord support in the future, maybe something related to Mictlan, the realm of the dead?
Calling for all Darklord deck users out there! I knew I wasn’t the only one! Been using them for a while and until now I didn’t realize the awesome lore they had!!! Love them even more now!!
I completely agree with you Now use darklords to summon archlord kristya and the wicked avatar or summing arcana force the world and watch your opponent cry.
I combined them with lair of darkness and it's a nice spicy pairing because both parts are really consistent and it's a fun control deck to play with friends.
I run a Pure Darklord deck without Amdusc sadly (he never arrived in the mail after I ordered him almost two months ago on Amazon from the Seller; “SSA Games”). Bringing out Condemned Darklord is fun. Especially; when you trigger her effect alongside the effect of two “Beat Cop of the Underworld”, Master Key Beetle, Card Guard, Field Barrier, and Lair of Darkness to make a pretty nasty combo then while constantly gaining LP use the Solemn Traps and the Forbidden Spells and crush your opponent!! Be sure that Solemn Wishes remains face up on the field to gain an extra LP boost whenever you draw a card!
I love this stuff. About 11 years ago I pointed out to my friends/roommates the apparent story arc of warrior dai grepher (then my favorite cardo) and they laughed and said I was looking for things that weren't there.
I really like the Forbidden Maiden being evolved into this archetype. I wish they would do this with more archetypes! I think Manju/Senju of the Thousand Hands should be evolved into the Cyber Angels. Both have Hindu inspirations and Ritual focus!
I wonder if there will ever be an "archlord" archetype, as thus far there are only two: Zerato, who has fallen, and Kristya, who is Jesus cosplaying as a yugioh monster.
Jesus cosplays as many yugioh monsters: Kuraz the Light Monarch, Stardust Dragon (along with Virgin Mary), Timelord Progenitor Vorpgate, Mariamne, the True Dracophoenix and maybe some other monsters.
Pretty sure the "Darklord" name originated with Zerato being a fallen Archlord, if they had not printed Zerato then all of the Darklords would've been Fallen Ones instead
12:31 went of on a trip thorught mythologies cause of this dude´s name and found out kars is the name of an actual mayan god DEADASS MAYAN GOD OF FITNESS danm it araki
Seems like a hoax in Wikipedia from a user edit. Did more than a quick Wikipedia search and never found Kars as a legit god outside that wiki link. Still funny as fuck though.
I really love how listening to the lore of each of these cards I am getting a small Catholic history lesson of the Fallen Angels. You earned a sub from me, keep up the good work!
I’m assuming you are talking duel links? If so I use darklords with Ishizu even BEFORE beatdown got nerfed because with Fairy’s Smile you literally never run out of life points because you basically gain 1000 per turn offsetting the cost of most of the effects.
Oh, I remember trying to cheat St Joan into the field, and keeping it on my Deck solely because I am named Joan and it showed up on my first expansion pack. Since we were casuals we didn't understand what Fusion really was, so I just used Evolution Pill to send her in with just Polymerization. I also did that with two Gaiodiaz monsters since they came with the bonus of counting as dinosaurs and thus able to power up my Tyranno Infinity later on. Since this is about 5 years before Synchros existed, you could say I was bending the rules of the game to swarm the field with overpowered monsters before it was cool.
Nurse Reficule is such a funny card to build decks around. Way more interesting than Chainburn. For instance: Upstart goblin now deals 1000 damage, Gift Card is now a straight up burn 3000 card, Tri-And-Guess now burns the enemy for 3000 if you can guess their Extradeck, The Paths of Destiny now become: Flip a coin, you either get 2000 life points or take 2000 damage, your opponent flips a coin, they either take 2000 damage or take 2000 damage. And so many more. Psychic eraser laser is a "kill enemy extradeck monster, deal damage equal to Attack or Deff, whatever is higher" Soul Taker destroys an enemy monster for 1000 damage. And if you don't have nurse, there is allways Bad Reaction to Simochi, which does the same as a trap card. Meanwhile Deckthinning is rediculously easy because: Condemned witch can summon nurse, Ixchel can discard a darklord card and itself to draw 2, all monsters are dark type allowing to allure of Darkness and Banishment of the Dark lords can search you a nurse. Pretty fun deck. Can only recommend. (It is also a bit easier to counter, compared to Chain Burn making it feel more fair)
I built a Burning Phantom Lords deck; it contains, Darklord, Phantom Knight and Burning Abyss cards. It was too bricky, so I built Pure BA, Pure PK and Pure Darklord decks instead.
Darklords seriously needs some new support! Preferably a new field spell for them like a dark version of Sanctuary in The Sky or a Darklord Soul Charge to bring them out and swarm the field easier.
17:08 God looking like a boss reminds of the video where a group of people gang up on Santa, then the bass drops and Santa goes to work that close line tho damn. Edit: Still don't know how they supposed to win.
Bro can they make an actual archlord archetype that mirrors this one? They have pretty much all they need, and have it mix in with darklords.... Konami, please.
I came here after dueling someone that was using this guys on duel links . I wanted to know more about it cuz i found it interesting that they kept getting sent to graveyard to be summoned after .
I think you can update 4 more darklord monsters and 1 new trap card which are: - Darklord of Enjoyment - Darklord of Pleasure - Darklord Nergal - Fusion Monster: Lucifer, Darklord of the Morning Star - Trap card: Rebellious Darklord
Yeah but I don't think it qualifies as an archetype if there is only two cards. They need to have at least as many as the Darklords so the decks could be played against each other in what would hopefully be a pretty evenly matched contesf
If you think about it, it seems likely that the Condemned Maiden/Darklord's attack on Solemn Johnson that we see in Witch's Strike probably didn't work. Not only does he look entirely unconcerned with her incoming attack, but we see her as Condemned Darklord creating Darklord Nasten in the artwork of Forbidden Droplet. We then later see Darklord Nasten begging for forgiveness from Solemn Johnson in The Sanctified Darklord, which means that he's still alive and well after she reached her final Darklord form. Probably she lashed out at him as she fled from the Sanctuary in the Sky, and either stole or acquired enough power to become a Darklord herself from the other angels that seemingly joined her in that failed rebellion. Too bad nobody's ever gonna read the evidence of my ability to overthink pointless trivia.
Just a heads up, but it seems like Warrior of Zera has 4 distinct futures (Zera the Mant, Archlord Zerato/Darklord Zerato, Mazera deVille and Angel of Zera). Note that all of these monsters have 2800 attack/2300 defense. Ultimately it seems he does have one good ending where he becomes Angel of Zera. Note that each of the ending cards (except Darklord Zerato) has a unique summoning condition associated with it. Zera the Mant involves a ritual, Archlord Zerato requires the Sanctuary in the Sky, and Mazera deVille requires Pandemonium. Darklord Zerato's effects are consistent with the darklord archetype (which is all about fallen angels) which combined with the card art implies a strong connection to Archlord Zerato). This leaves Angel of Zera, which has a very distinct summoning condition (it's a synchro monster) and for which there's no implied connection to the Sanctuary of the Sky at all in the art/effects (something that connected Zeradias, Herald of Heaven to Archlord Zerato and Darklord Zerato). In fact, the card has a very unique effect compared to all the other Zera ending cards - it is the only one not dependent on any of your other cards to properly function (even Zera the Mant mentions the Zera Ritual card on its card text). I'm pretty sure this implies a unique path, and the only "good" path.
Ok now this would be the second archetype I’ve actually wanted there art style is so cool! And there play style while a bit tricky looking seems fun thanks for helping me understand these fallen angels
We will probably get more. if Forbidden Droplets is anything to go by, we may get Nasten in some other form, possibly Re-corrupted at the hands of Condemned Darklord for his praying in Sanctified Darklord. Plus, I assume will get an upgraded version of Condemned Darklord/another Darklord link monster.
This archetype is ABSOLUTELY METAL, only Japan would get away with making FALLEN ANGELS part of a children's card game. I mean, in Japan, the "Fiend" type is the "Demon" type. How badass is that? The artwork of these cards are some of my favourite in the game.
I'm pretty sure both Marie and Reficule are part of the archetype since in japanese they both contain the name "Datenshi" aka Fallen Angel which originally being translate to "Fallen One" in TCG.. so Darklord originally going to be "Fallen One"..
