Konami is seriously high for not making spin off of this story and the many other stories and connecting lores of Yugioh. These would all make 10/10 anime in their own right.
Me: attempts to play this archetype Also me: *gets immediately fucked over by Charles saying "no" in the first game, sum Dinos chonking me out in a second game, and some golden boys skill draining me in 3rd game.* Fml
The story of yoko and the squire is based on the tale of tamamizu, a fox that loved a girl, she transformed into a girl and served as her servant, she loved so much the girl that she helped get married to a Prince. At the end the fox gives her a letter before running away confessing her feelings.
Thanks to Secret Shiny Box, we got some new cards that expand the story of the Shiranui & Mayakashi. One card shows that Squire & Dakki were able to take back the combination Sword/Naginata from Yukki-ona of the ice, and a link 3 Yukki-ona which is basically what the link 4 looks like without the combined powers of the Shiranui & Mayakashi
Is it just me or is this archetype similar to the Demon Slayer anime, it might just be me but a bunch of undead like demons vs a group of swordsmen that hunt them. I might just be connecting them randomly, but there feels like there a connection
When I saw this I thought to my self that I vas really Lucky to have stumbled upon this Chanel all those years ago ,because if I didn't I would have never became such a good duelist , I love your videos and I really like your creativity for video themes. I am so thankful to you because you make great Yu-Gi-Oh content and I really like your ranking videos and top 10 I also love the character profile and trivia videos but the thing I love about you the most is the fact that you like to tell stories about the archetypes that you talk about. Video idea: creating myown Yu-Gi-Oh monsters
Heres Some Yugioh Archtypes Ideas I Created:Shining Hero,Emailer,Flame Ninjara,Rainbow Reptile,Jumpstart Racer, and Ritual(Ritual Monsters Based on Medieveal Human Beings at the Time)
I say it would be good lore-wise seeing as Yuki stole Squire's powers thus rendering graveyard and banished abilities useless. So they would have to find new power. And it could be the light type the archetype is missing.
Amaterasu The Shiranui Mayakashi A "kami" in Japan is often translated as "gods" in English, but it's really just a deified nature phenomenon, for the phenomenons that are not deified but also feared, those are yokai, ayakashi, oni
@@ZenoDLC honestly, the concept is not bad, but mixing Amaterasu (out of the lore/ could easily take a spot at one own archetype) with shiranui and mayakashis is a bit of a stretch...
It could be a monster that can be fusion summoned without a fusion spell if Shiranui Style Synthesis is on the field, and you can banish the materials from the field or grave. It could be a light attribute monster treated as a Shiranui and Mayakashi, and that it passively nulls the effects of all monsters whose attributes are different from its own.
Seeing how the synchro ladder plays out with dakki and the rest of the deck, it reminds me, somewhat, of things referenced in ‘Nura, Rise of the Yokai Clan’. Where a nine-tailed fox takes command over an army of Yokai, which is dubbed the Night Parade. With the Slow ‘March’ from level to level, making up the parade. And the GY summon effects are like your opponent is cutting through the parade one-by-one.
Oh yeah I was literally thinking that (Currently rereading nura) even the mayakashi lore seems to fit nura. the shiranui summoning the founder is slightly ironic as in my reread yura just summoned the 13th heir
I enjoy learning about these lore stories, it just shows you that duel monsters isn’t only about summoning monsters, activating spells and traps, they have their stories of how they became who they are and why.
Kinda fitting that both the Shiranui and the Mayakashi are both released during the month of October since Halloween is just a few days away. Plus both archetypes are Zombie monsters and both have been a war with each other until two became friends until they've realized who the other really were. I'm hoping we get more of the story on both sides and see how it ends.
Could you please do Brotherhood of Fire Fist next? I really like that archetype, and i would like to see their lore (i know they have it, but im not sure how big!).
Fire Fist archetype are based on Water Margin, one of the most popular classic novel in China. Each monster in the archetype are based on 108 Stars of Destiny, the main character of the Novel while the "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap are based on the celestial
Mayakashi essentially plays a real game of Among Us in their human forms. A meme about that would be pretty funny XD. Either way I've liked Mayakashi a lot I know a friend on discord also likes it a ton so glad to see this video coming out. But be warned, the Mayakashi are lurking around, there is 1 Impostor Among Us, beware...
"Head of a demon, body of a tiger and arms and legs of a spider" Ok what is it with myths and just slapping random animals together, they're spooky enough on their own but nope! ENJOY THE NIGHTMARE SANDWICH!
Mayakashi was one of the first decks i built in the tcg and i still love it to this day! Might not be a very competitive deck, but its very fun to play on casual locals.
I guess this is before Master Duel revealed the Makayashi and Shiranui lore. IE Mayakashi being malevolent spirits that feed on hatred and suffering thus they like to sow conflicts and war, and the Shiranui being a clan that is trying to stop them.
Love these video! Also if the yugioh designers wrote short stories, or manga one shots, I would totally buy all of them. These little in game stories are always great, and I feel like they put a lot of effort in designing the cards to match the story they are envisioning.
Something I choose to believe is that the silhouette for the art of the rickshaw mayakashi’s human form isn’t simply meant to represent any random villager as a victim but rather a spirit because with the shade of the cart he can now transport other yokai during the day so they don’t have to fear the sun
Great informative video as always; Hope to see you make a Volcanic video soon when Axel becomes playable in early December :) Day 510 of waiting for Good Pyro/Volcanic Support to arrive...
I need this video updated ASAP with new Mayakashi cards to be released next month! The new trap looks awesome continuing the story where Yoko and Squiresaga team up to fight Icicle Yuki-Onna!!
I love the Yu-Gi-Oh! lore. Konami should invest in animations that goes beyond promoting the card game, some stories are so good they would make really good movies or short series.
I wonder how good these two decks are in actual competitive play... Cuz this story between the two rival factions is lit I feel like this should be a yu-gi-oh anime . I think a yu-gi-oh anime based around the monsters spirit world would be lit . Some of the yu-gi-oh decks have a amazing story written within them
Another reason why Dakki was able to form a relationship with a human might be because, in mythology, some kitsune formed relationships with humans and even reproduced with them.
I think there should be somekind of card lore story mode or event in duel links. Players can play the lore of a certain archtype and get rewards. I believe that card lores should be explored and should not be left on untranslated japanese yugioh guidebooks.
i actually never gave a crap about the shiranui and the mayakashi. but when i saw your videos and the storys i am interested sooo thank you for showing me this
I started rewatching these to get back into yugioh especially the more sinister archetypes and i realized you referenced the Vylons in some but never did a Vylon episode i really like them and i'm sure they have some interesting lore to them
Yeah not about consistency. I can easily build a full board/gy with a floodgate trap/doomking on the board and still lose because they are inherently weak
@@jalcome4201 mayakashi is the only deck that can go full ftk city if they didn't get interrupted. Apparently 2 cards combo Bone tower hajun and synchro burn is the best way to play mayakashi
Eldlich and Mayakashi is my favorite zombie archetypes at together. I’ve strategy to make a disrupts and special summon from both a graveyard or hand, but potential a OTK deck. Thanks for you make this video, hopefully to the story continues and more support cards.
I'm interested with playing eldlich and mayakashi because they seem working well together. Eldlich for the control and mayakashi for combo. I would be delighted to know your deck profile for this. Ps. I got inspired from the duel replays of one yugituber ive watched.
The Shiranui and Mayakashi would most likely have to join forces, since the Mayakashi's original intentions was to defend their home and an "a lifeless eternal night" would eradicate what would be left of the Mayakashi's home.
til this day I still wait for link 2 Shiranui Mayakashisaga to be release(pretty sure it’s going to be like this) and part of it’s effect might be always treat as fire light and dark monster since they’re fused and fire+fire might be enough to be light(about dark I just try to put it in so they can be used in other zombie deck that always dark) their design might be black and white hair side-way fox mask to show the face kimino mix design of skillsaga and synchro graceful mayakashi base on Yin and yang as well (which... I truly don’t know how she’s gonna look cuz I’m not a designer)
My favorite archetypes are photon galaxy and cipher but watching demon slayer had me like these cards but then realized having these cards are so amazing and they are so beautiful
Yep, building this when I get around 3000 gems. I altered the Shiranui structure deck in Master Duel and really like using my version of it. Yuki-Onna & Gakki (the Kyuubi? I forgot the name for sure) are really cute.
I noticed, I think it hadn’t had enough time to go through because of the switch. Hopefully back to normal by the next Video! Thankyou regardless for your support 😁
This is probably the first time ever you did a video with sides of a conflict with the samurai video before this video being one haft of the story and this video being the other half of the story
