This whole archetype sounds like a pretty good fantasy anime. I wish Konami would take some of their card lore and turn into an episodic anime. With each episode being a different archetype. But they will probably never do that as there to busy making pachinko machines :(
There are so maaany cool stories within some YGO archetypes that Konami could make several different animes out of them lol but hey, at least we're getting an Sky Strikers manga
World Chalice alone, could be a show. Seriously, make these archetypes a show with in the Yugioh anime and I will be very happy. (Because how did most of us get into the game?)
Can’t get enough of these interesting card lores. Especially since I started learning some of them via master duel. I hope they add some of these as the new solo gates.
Can’t remember if TGS said this BUT Fun fact: the 2 twins’ names (Aruha & Rakea) are based on the name of the onmyōji Abe no Seimei, “Haru Akira”; inverting produces “rakia ruha”, which is then split into “rakia” and “aruha”. Learned this after researching them for some customs for the archetype
for an archetype with so few cards, its great to see that none of them with perhaps the exception being wailing are bad, pretty much all are a must play at 2-3
I still run wailing at 1, it’s very handy as a destruction target to start your combos. And it’s a nice card to have if you are dealing with cards that floodgate monster effects like mystic mine and skill drain.
I found this archetype by chance when I started master duel. I was initially trying to build fire kings. This is a rogue deck I have fell in love with. It is a super simple and fun archetype.
By this lore, Aruha represents Anguish & Rakea represents Rage, because each monster would be absent in the card art of the unchained soul they represent as the Shikigami would be possessing them.
i just love the link 4 monster. a card gets destroyed by card effect? destroy a card. a card gets destroyed by battle? destroy a card. end phase? destroy a card. your opponent breathes? destroy a card. your opponent still exists? destroy a card. hotel? destroy a card.
This is my second favorite deck (madolches always number 1) because of the amount of mind games you can do with them. The deck can work under powerful floodgates, such as Skill Drain, even Deminsion Fisure and can still play, and if you want to protect them, you can play Awakening the Dragon, which will cheat out things like Dragoon and Ultimate Falcon if moved to the graveyard or banished, not to mention the Unchained spell and traps float too. They also have great longevity and can very easily set up disruptions.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, there needs to be an anime based on some of these card lore. Cuz this is incredible. I know there's a recent manga that was released in Japan doing just that, hopefully it gets an English translation soon.
I freaking LOVE these videos!!!!!! Seriously!!!! I love learning about the backstory & trivia for cards & such, also finding out about archetypes I never really took the time to look at too. :)
One of the decks I main and it's seriously a fun deck to never underestimate. Who knows? Maybe that new Unchained monster could perhaps be in the new Darkwing Blast. 😜
If we do get a new Unchained, I hope we get a Link for the non-Souls that can get them going more, bigger Link that makes them recover more (I love recovery nuisance decks), or more MD monsters
@@foxywoxy1915 Maybe, but then again I would like an Unchained monster that could just be summoned easier than having to work with trying to get out Abominable or Disaster out. Also another MD Unchained would be nice for the floats, but as long as we don't get something like another thing that's worst than Wailing, that's all that matters.
I liked YUTO in ArcV, he was an interesting character, that had so little screentime (for unknown reason). To honor him, please make "The Phantom Knights" archetype next.
Ah yes, my favorite archetype. Complete and total destruction. The only thing it's missing is a field spell. No, Ecole de Zone does not count. Edit: Just remembered a duel I had with this deck that was probably the best I've ever had. My opponent used the Mayakashi archetype, which gains benefits from their own destruction. Same as the Unchained. Let that sink in.
Eh. Mayakashi need there Synchros for that though so the Unchained have a clear advantage by stealing the Synchros for the Link Monsters since they don't destroy the Synchros with it.
I love the videos including the lore and explanations of effects and combos like this one, I know you probably got a list of 100 other archetypes and suggestions all the time but I would like to add another because this is the deck I've been using since I got back into yugioh recently which is galaxy, photons, and most importantly Galaxy-Eyes cards, thank you for the cool videos!
Yes finally. I've been asking for this for ages. Also my favorite part of the soul of anguish artwork is rakea having the time of their life on the back of anguish
Any chance we could get the Black Luster Soldier archetype video? They've got a ton of cards and it'd be fun to hear about what might be many's first ritual monster.
Evil eye unchained is a fun deck to play. Evil Eye re-emergence generates tokens to use as link material into Soul of Rage and Anguish. Additionally, Serziel forces you to pop a card you control on your next standby after using his first ability to disrupt your opponent. Which will trigger your Unchained on the standby to get you the monster you want to start your comboes on your main phase 1
The lore of these cards is super cool, man. Now, for the only archetype that could maybe counter the destruction these cards can wreak. The Branded of Albaz. That one is my personal favorite archetype.
I know that the Japanese version of the cards usually have different names but this archetype definitely has some of the biggest name changes for each of the cards.
One of my favorite archetypes, now I just wanna see a video on the other archetype I pair it with: Evil Eye. Okay, and maybe also an Evil Twins video as well.
A link 5 Monster for this archetype would be nuts especially if has a negate/s with a destruction cost where you can destroy on field or hand. The monster of destroyed/sent to the grave yard then you can float into 2 other unchained link monsters. So you float into the LV2 and 3. Maybe a they drop a quick play spell that negates and only needs a destruction coat. And maybe a continuous trap card that protects your monsters/cards from being negated or sent from the field. Idk like cool stuff they could do with this deck!
I am playing this deck for 1 year before I discovered distand coder and i love it. The fact that it uses my opponent monsters for link summon is the best idea konami had. And I am still waiting for a support
Something that I'm surprised no one called out was how the unchained monster takes the form of a wolf, which is a reference to Fenrir from Norse mythology who too was chained and is bound to be unchained come Ragnorok
I can't wait for the Fallen of Albaz/Branded/Despia/Tri-Brigade/Dogmatika/Sprigging video because that will be a doozy on how they interact. It's obvious the Tri-Brigade, Despia, and Sprigging archetypes are at war with each other.
I agree with everyone else here, this archetype is amazing! My favorite one for when I get serious. Someone mentioned this archetype not having a field spell, well allow me to suggest pairing "Dark Sanctuary" for that role. Also! Using "Abominable Unchained Soul"s effect-- I suggest having 3 copies of "Darklord Marie" in the deck- as you can discard them for its effect, with the bonus of healing LP every turn.
This deck quickly became one of my favorites to run in Master Duel, and honestly I think it's severely slept on. The ability to link summon with your opponents monsters is so incredibly powerful and can sew untold amounts of chaos.
Remember I bought a couple of blisters at Wal-Mart and pulled 2 of the blue Unchained Link monster secret rares and fell on love at how much badass the card artwork is...Unchained are awesome
Konami REALLY should partner with a competent RPG studio to make a YGO game set entirely in the world of the monsters where each archetype exists as its own faction. Could be a Strategy RPG like FF Tactics or Fire Emblem. Hell, could be a Persona-like RPG where we play a customized summoner (duelist) who got reverse-summoned to the monster world and whose choices to partner up/bond with certain factions has consequences for who their allies and enemies become. Like...for example, if you chose to ally with Mayakashi, Unchained, Vampires or the Dark World for instance, factions like the Lightsworn or the Shiranui would never be your allies and vice versa. Then you also have more neutral factions built in (Karakuri, Fairies Who Paint the Weather, Ruin/Demise) who don't really care either way, so you can up with a really colorful mix of allies. And even factions that can/or should be able to be persuaded with ingame currency (like the Dragonmaids for instance, the ninja around Hanzo, possibly Dinomorphia...)
i am surprised Konami doesn't make anime or manga based on archetype lore, because a lot of them have potential for stand alone stories, and it would help sell cards, because people would get attached to characters represented in the cards it has chance to get people who otherwise would ignore the game to check it out, or at least have them collect cards featuring their favorite characters also the anime/manga becomes free inspiration for new cards
I have played this deck for a long time its very fun and consistant all u need for a combo is a lvl 4 or lower unchained monster and like a unchained spell or trap
