Thanks for the video. There's not a lot of information out there about the Mini and this was super helpful. I use a Bentgo Kids and Yumbox Panino for my PreKer. It's finally gotten cold enough to send soup in a Thermos and your idea of using the mini with a Thermos is exactly what I was thinking too. But he's a big eater to be a little guy and I was afraid it wouldn't hold enough.

really comprehensive review. Thanks for going so detailed. Only issue I have with these lunch boxes is the price. They are expensive but I am hoping they will last as kids do chuck around their lunch bags in the school playground!!

I have a kindergartener and she is a very picky eater ! I had purchased her the bentgo kids and it had to many compartments and she wasted a lot of her lunch ! I decided to purchase the yum box snack box and I love it small portions and so far so good I typically pack her some fruit , sandwich cut into a shape and some sort of snack and she eats it all ....

We have had bento kids and bento fresh. I just bought the snack box because both kids love hot lunches and we need an additional for sides.

That's my favorite way to use the snack box. It fits just the right amount of stuff for sides with a thermos.

Hey! I just got 2 Stephen Joseph lunch pals without thinking about their size because they were so damn cute. But the kids loved them more than I did and won’t let me return it. Will the panino fit in it ?

What equipment are you using to shoot overhead like you are? Looks great.. r u using a camera or phone? I like how you have your camera set up .. video quality and sound are very nice 👍🏻

Thank you! I use an iPhone mounted on this phone holder and position it so the phone faces down: amzn.to/2L1ZLlB I just plug a set of headphones with a mic into the phone to record the audio.

I have the silicon cupcake cups I use in my daughters current lunch box to separate food. Can I use them in this and still be able to shut the lid correctly? Thank you!

Jessica Bradford Yes! This shouldn’t be a problem as long as they are standard sized cupcake cups. Sometimes the jumbos are a bit taller than these lunch boxes but if they’re flexible enough they can still work too.

Just got tapas for my son and when I open or close it’s hard to do so, I have to hold base of box to open. Is it normal?

I don't have the Pottery Barn lunch bag, so I don't know for sure, but the Panino fits inside most lunch bags.

If you are looking at the Yumbox, I would go with the Panino so it will grow with her as her. The original Yumbox would probably work too if she likes snacky lunches.

I have a question Can I put the tray of a panino inside the exterior of an original?🤔

Unfortunately that won’t work. The panino tray will fit in the original but it won’t seal properly because the gasket on the top won’t match up to the compartments in the tray. If you try it the box won’t be water tight and you will likely damage the lid.

Re: The swapping of inserts; couldn't you buy the Original box and then a Panino insert and use them interchangeably? It seems this would work the same as the Tapas box and the additional insert you showed. I'm thinking of doing this and want to know if it would work well to keep things pretty sealed up. Thanks! Hi Mary! Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend doing this because it will prevent your Yumbox from sealing properly. The way the Yumbox seals off the individual compartments is by fitting the upper edges of the insert between two thicker ridges of silicone in the lid. If the edges of the insert don't fit into the grooves between those two silicone ridges in the lid, the seal is not formed. The Tapas box is made so that BOTH inserts will fit into the same grooves in the lid, but the Original and Panino inserts don't match up with each other's lid grooves -- they are off by up to a 1/4 of an inch. Does that make sense? (This is really hard to explain. 😕) It would be great if they did because it would save you some $$ but unfortunately, that is not the case.

You'll need to put the Panino inside a lunch bag with an ice pack outside of the box.
