@@dontstealmycontentpleasepretty sad and honestly quite pathetic that the person who uploaded this didn’t put time stamps or seizure warnings for that matter!
When you delve into the fan theories, the game only gets creepier. Considering that Madotsuki's dreams may be a reflection of her real life experiences.... it's not a happy story by any means.
0:59 is it just me or does madotsuki say "muri! muri!" ("i can't! i can't!" in japanese) repeatedly when you try to make her write or play the game while she has the crick in her neck?
My theory about this game goes like this: Madotsuki used to live in a very unsafe neighborhood where she witnessed lots of horrible stuff. In the graphic flying head event is a lady and a seemingly middle aged man, which I think could be one of the traumatic stuff she's seen. Same goes for the uterus road, could have a very sad meaning. A girl who didn't even grasp the concept of puberty facing her first feminine problems. It could be a girl who has developed way earlier than all her peers and now feels out of place. It could also point towards witnessing SA or experiencing it firsthand. The monoko girl could be a prior friend of hers from elementary school, who crossed the road at red light and got run over. The monoe girl could be someone who knows something terrible madotsuki has done. Since you can see her only after stabbing the dude on the road and going down into the darkness. The darkness could symbolize the fact that she is a horrible horrible girl and is willing to use all she has gathered against madotsuki. Her looks being sinister is also supporting of this theory. The mars man could be her therapist or music teacher which helped her expand her world view, yet couldn't stop Madotsuki's "downfall" symbolised by the spaceship falling. The creepy images could depict the impression that all the traumatic events she has gone through in her life. The way her normal view in humans morphed into a horrid disfiguration of limbs and body parts. All the crime around her affecting how she sees everyone around her, miserable, evil. Uboa could well be pointing towards abuse at its finest, since all that madotsuki has done was to turn off the light switch but the girl who is seemingly friendly, the way some parents seem wonderful on the inside but are horrible people, freaks out and traps her into a horrifying realm. Which could be her parents/role models whatever trapping her into a dark room whenever she has done something wrong. After all these and even more, her conception of humans were completely messed up. She became afraid of what could be hidden behind the faces of people she could trust. So she cut all contact. She wanted to join the parties but she was afraid of the negative reaction she was going to receive. She wanted to go outside but why would she even go outside if it was just a desert of hopeless, disgusting people who were going to just die regardless of whatever they had done in their lives? So she trapped herself in a room where she could be safe from all the evil lurking around just right outside her house and use games and anime as coping mechanisms. But in the end, no matter how many games you've played and how many characters you have been, you are still you and you will carry the trauma that comes with the reality outside. This is what she comes to realize in the very end, leaving all the eggs in the ground. Which could symbolize all the beautiful memories of all the stuff she's been in an ideal game world leaving her mind. And all that remains is the tragedies, like a scribble, with no sugarcoating and no fantasy. Pure despair. And so, now that all that is left from "her" is the sadness the world has brought her, the happiness she tried to find in games which has dwelwed her even deeper into agony and a meaningless body which is stripped of all the beauty of life and is a stock for tragedies. So in order to erase everything that reminded her of the bad times, she jumped off. Yeah its my theory it could be something way more different but this is as far as i could piece.
Its a good theory, for a moment I thought that in really fit with the moments that happens in the game, but something that concerns me is the neck event, that happen not while sleeping, not that mean that madotsuki is still sleeping although she wake up from her dream?
2:34 minor correction, the bed that takes you to the staircase of hands is actually a 100% chance- there are three beds (one in snow world, one in block world, and one in Madotsuki's dream room), and one of the three will always take you to the staircase. People simplify this as a 1/3 chance most of the time, but really it's just a 1/3 chance that the specific bed you're trying will work. If you try all 3 you'll get there guaranteed.
gonna be honest. when i firstly discovered Aztec Rave Monkey's event, i was playing at night, it was summer, and i were pretty chill. i just interacted with box and thought that this is another world warp, because of the screen going black. BUT no, there was this spontaneous banger. i literally shited myself and got my heart nearly stopped lol.
I'd love to know more about Kikiyama. Some of the drawings you see, such as the ones in the sewer, are fascinating. I'd love an exhibition or artbook one day
takofuusen scared the absolute hell outta me the first time i saw him. it was just so unexpected for something like that to happen in the game if you know what i mean?
@@mr_alphabet0 Takofuusen appears to be based on a baby affected by Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion (or TRAP sequence). There's a theory that it represents Madotsuki's dead twin.
日本人です。日本人としてゆめにっきを遊んでくれて、愛してくれてとても嬉しいです! I am Japanese. I am happy as a Japanese person to play this game and love this game! I used a translator. I hope it is well communicated.... thanks so much!!!!! :)
Probably a little out there, but I have a theory about Monoko- The way that she grows arms and *becomes scared* if you use the traffic light effect near her makes me wonder if she died in some way that’s related to cars. Car crash, possibly ran over (sadly). It is kind of a stretch to say she’s dead but she looks ghostly and pale. (I’m new to the fandom so please let me know if anything is confirmed or something like that ^^ )
11:10 me and my little bro found the zipper with a face one time when we were playing, but didn’t know it had to be stabbed, and we didn’t even have the knife.
That witch event where you deactivate the effect on the roof is so unique and pretty cute. We've all had that experience where we do that falling thing and it instantly jerks us awake.
OMGG 0:50 I remember when I saw it the first time, at first , I was a little confused coz the way I saw her head looking to the left but once I started moving Madotsuki in all directions I noticed that she was staring like right at me and I swear that day I jumped off my chair and got goosebumps all over! I think this one was one of the best experiences I had playing Yume Nikki at that time..!
Some of these events are cool. I've already experienced a few, but there were others I didn't even know could happen. I had also wondered if there was a way of getting to some closed off spaces in the numbers world and now I know I can by stabbing the Torininguen.
sometimes i ask myself how much time it took kikiyama (i probably wrote his name wrong srry) to make yume nikki like, what if it took him just 2 weeks or maybe 2 months, or maybe even 2 years idk
Sometimes this game is funny and scary. You know, when i saw that part of Mado transforming in a witch, it reminded me of a dream that my grandpa told me which he transformed in a superhero and flied to the beautiful beaches of Mexico, and his upper vision of the fake "cities" below him while in the air was based in footage and photos that he used to keep of touristic places, like Acapulco. Then he suddenly lost his powers, started falling, and when he got closer to the ground was when he woke up with his face planted to the floor of his bedroom. He felt from his bed. My grandma made fun of him when he told her later.
