The Home Secretary openly mocks James Cleverly during a migration debate on the incoming Conservative psychodrama that is their leadership contest. Subscribe to our new podcast now, or you're a silly goose: linktr.ee/pubcast
Poor Ivette Cooper. If anybody is going to say something about the way The Tories are. Labour are not the ones (nobody is listening to you Ivette because you have already proved that you are un-understandable)!
Her job isn't to embarrass the Tories - which I agree she's very good at doing. It's to be the Home Secretary. Hopefully she's a good one because it's been a long time since we had anyone competent in that role.
Oh my god please lord let Cleverly become leader of the opposition. Watching that clown getting torn up as toilet paper every week would be the most joyous thing we could possibly witness politically. After Mogg getting booted, obviously.
I’d rather see them actually do something. They don’t need to spew political rhetoric now they’ve won the election. They need to start acting on election commitments and getting things done. Cooper’s speech was an embarrassing display.
@@mercury6765 What they're doing is telling US where we are today so that we have context and if the Tories try to (as they will and always do) rewrite history we will know they are talking rubbish. It's crazy what they did to local councils.
@@nauxsi I think a lot of voters already know the dire situation though - hence the conservatives lost most of their seats. I think Labour (and other parties) would do well to rise above personal attacks and deliver hard facts instead of
@@mercury6765 One has to appreciate that our politics is no longer fought on the ground. It is fought in the mist of perceptions of the people. For the minds. Why else do they lie otherwise? So Labour spelling out a few home truths and making the other side squirm is a good thing. Because for too long they kep on using the slogan 'Labour are the party of spenders or spaffing money up the wall', the conservatives are the 'party of small business or good money'. Well we can that is all hogwash in daylight. Business hate them. Rwanda, councils going bankrupt. Lack of any action or momentum from them. Never again can they say any of that. They don't stand for anything. They just do what they think will help them to win.
Never mind Yvette's only just starting. Have you seen what Rachel Reeves is doing? Seems to me that when all the Labour front bench start to call the Tories out on over 14 years of neglect, misrule and blatant wrong doing, there's going to be lots of Tories with squeaky bums. If I was a crooked Tory, I would be running for the hills just now. In all this current frivolity though, I do hope that members on the Labour side have clean hands. We don't want anything for the slippery Tories to use as a diversion to get themselves off the hook.
@@stevefoster5789You are joking aren’t you? Definitely on a wind up. There is no way the tories will be re-elected for at least 15 years. When Major was voted out, it was 13 years. That was due to the then term being every 4 years instead of 5. The fact the age will be lowered to 16, means it’s even more likely Labour will be in power for a minimum of three full terms.
No-one should feel sorry for the Tories. Look at what Atkins and Bad Enoch Powell did last week. They need to be brought to heel. Cooper being OTT is necessary because anything less would let the Tories think their approach and behaviour was acceptable and accepted.
It's the end of the Kings speech debate. Yvette (as the big cat) is just playing with Cleverly (the little rodent), giving him a few playful swats. Just wait until she really bares her teeth. Yvette is far too switched on for any of the Tories to feel comfortable 😂😂😂
James Cleverly getting used to not being able to respond to questions in his usual way: "As the honorable lady is aware, there is an ongoing investigation into these matters and it simply wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on them at this time..."
I do wish Yvette would stop kicking the bat-shit so quickly out of Mr Cleverly. Hardly have we had time to register the latest kick to his backside when she is already in the process of swinging another boot at his nether region. That said, well done, Yvette . . . Keep kicking. You really kicked the smirk from his 'cheeks' and reduced him to a pile of - - - - .
James Cleverly. This individual called Stockton on Tees a sh#t hole on live tv in the commons and laughed about it. He remained in his ministerial post. He didn't even apologise. That should tell former red wall voters what the Tory party really thought of them all along.
If UnCleverly did become the leader of the Tory party it would be the greatest gift Labour ever received,if he is a leading contender it tells everything you need to know of the quality and competence of the Tory party.
Yvette Cooper absolutely made James Dimly look even more stupid and ignorant than ever. Imagine him as the new Tory leader-- it would be as laughable as the periods under William Hague and IDS.
It makes a difference to hear intelligent people at the dispatch box instead of the pillocks that have been in government for the last 14 years, and it's extremely amusing to watch their embarrassment as all their failures are pointed out for all to see,
@@mobsiesixsixsix9785 It's not a comedy you say, yet Boris got elected? Liz truss got elected? Do you think you're wiser now than you were 20 years ago?
@adrianwright8685 how many times have you posted this? They deserve to be mocked. They deserve to be humiliated. They and the electorate deserve to be continually reminded of what happens when power is given to incompetent and dishonest self-servatives.
Cleverley (allegedly) said the Rwanda scheme was batsh1t the day after the Supreme Court ruled the Rwanda scheme (as it was then) "unlawful". This was Nov 2023, not so long ago that he could forget...
Blah blah blah yet again more school yard politics. Is this America?????????????????? If I behaved like this in a job i would have been sacked! senior management please JUST GET ON WITH YOUR JOB!
William I share your approval of Yvette who has impressed me for many years. Imagine Patel ,Cleverly , Braverman or Badenoch facing Yvette across the Dispatch Box .
@@paulaunger3061 Except it isn't, since it exposed him as unwilling to issue a denial, where he could be punished for misleading the House. Thus adding credibility to the accusation.
Cooper has to be my favourite politician, which is a sentence I never ever thought I’d say. She calls it how it is whilst being passionate but Level headed, doing her job as a member of parliament in a way that doesn’t result in mud-slinging, pandering to niche pockets of voters or empty showboating promises like so many Conservative Party members have done so before.
There's a lot of Tories, in this thread, weeping, and calling for decorum. Not what you'd expect, from the self-described 'alphas', who wore 'F*ck Your Feelings' shirts, and called everyone 'snowflakes' who called out rampant corruption.
Love seeing Yvette sticking the boot into Tory mismanagement - I can guarantee there will be more to come to make those Tories squirm. Real leadership from Yvette, sadly lacking from the previous government - grown ups back in charge.
Yvette Cooper is one of the last left from Blair’s days as PM. She seems to have learnt lessons from that cabinet. If Starmer ever retires as PM and Labour are still in power, I can see her or Angela Rayner taking over next. She’s ruthless.
What I really love about this is the new government demonstrating the talent they had sitting in opposition while the privileged idiots failed to make anything of our country's potential. It's great to watch them sit there and listen to what a real figure of state sounds like.
James Cleverly, the man that asked Evette Cooper without Rwanda where will you send the asylum seekers from Afghanistan, Iraq or Iran . Yea.... Nowhere mate, see people fleeing with genuine asylum claims get to stay, that's how asylum works. What a Toss pot!
@@movingforward1981 No you haven't missed anything. in fact you seem to understand better than James Cleverly. Because even if you were here illegally the claim for asylum from a tyrannical regime would still be legitimate.
@@movingforward1981 not illegal if fleeing persecution - that is decided by being processed. Cutting border force and courts back, led to 3yr wait for some cases - they created a problem much larger than it was.
@@mobsiesixsixsix9785 A damn sight higher than the clown show of freaks that came before - Bozo, DisasTruss, and Sunak. Starmer isn't my first pick for PM either, but if my choice was between the flu and a broken leg, I'd pick the flu every time.
@@spacebound1522 As far as it goes Sunak wasn't that bad, as a person he was dreadfully out of touch. But the tories needed to be out because they'd lost the point of service. Time will tell if Starmer is any better. But allocating 3 billion for Ukraine and nothing for children in poverty is a bad bad start.
I want the Government to be honest and answer questions head on. Especially on the Today programme. If they are not ready to answer, say so. Please do not bluster; the Tories did that for years but insulted us as they went along.
The tories didn't think of themselves as the government whlst asking the public for that very job. (explais all the leadership contests). They were acting like the LIb dems...
Yes, but what about the fundamental issues of policing in the community, the loss of trust, the discrimination caused by narcissism, the corruption, the ignorance of basic law, the list is endless.
Yvette Cooper doing what Yvette Cooper does - talking sense, taking facts. Cleverly out of his depths, and given the opportunity to deny his 'batshit' comment what did he do? He didn't deny it.
that must have been traumatising to cleverly, I mean he must be shaken to the core, if he isn't/wasn't , then he is foolish, she turned everything about him upside down
