Thanks for the video. It arrived at the exact right time. Today I am installing lights on my YZ450f. I watched your old video and didn't want to pay for OHV kit. It just seemed too expensive for what it is. And I don't like the strange horn button hanging down off the bar. Good to see yours didn't hold up. I picked up the fork L.E.D's, the rear L.E.D. strip light, a couple wiring harnesses for fog lights, some extra wiring. Got a cheap but simple headlight and turn signal switch. The front brake switch for the brake lights.....etc. I'm gonna have to solder and shrink wrap all the wires together, but all the parts cost me around $70. I also picked up the same lights you just installed. What a surprise! They are a little different, but same thing. My bike is a 2008 so no stator. I got a 8aH lithium battery for $50 and will just charge it every night. Thank you so much for your content!
Awesome! Glad to see you are wiring it all up yourself! It's a lot of work but it will be worth it! And I just took off that ugly heat shield thing from the headlights that's probably why they look different
@@Dirtscootdesigns Oh, now I know which ones you bought. Yep, same as mine. Mine don't have the heat shield. They have great reviews and I love how they cut off so clean. Well, I guess we will both see how they actually work. I look forward to seeing your video at night and your opinions on those lights. I'm about to take off my fairings to try to install them in the same place you did this time. Seriously what a coincidence that you uploaded this yesterday and I'm now doing it today. Quick question. I don't have a relay. Do you think thath will be a problem? Just the main fuse off the battery. I chose 15 amp.
@@tropicaladventures9481 a relay is basically just so you can use a small gauge wire switch to control the power but with it only being 12v you will probably be fine but I personally think a relay is the way to go if you can find a place for it
@@Dirtscootdesigns Thanks for the advice. Yes if does have decent wires. I've been subscribed for a while so I will be looking forward to a video about how your headlights end up working.
Hey im very interested in this set up!!! Im working on a 2013 RMZ 450. added a battery, and have all my equipment installed. Headlight, taillight, blinkers, battery and so on. I planned on building a homemade harness based on my wiring diagram I made so not sure how compatible this set up would be for universal but surely its pretty close. Ive reached out to several different harness companies but with noluck on getting something for my set up. I even reached out to Street OHV asking if I could just buy the harness without the extras and ofcourse that was a no. I do really like how durable/rigid and professional your harness looks compared to what I had in mind. I got the idea from Jennies Garage, he just made his own harness for a street legal KX 100 build.
