As someone who upgraded from the Fold4, I think that it was absolutely worth it with the pre-order promotion deals. I would have loved to see a wider form factor, but there are still a number of improvements that really shine for me. First, the increase in screen brightness makes it so I can actually use this phone outside during the day, which was not the case with the Fold4. Second, for whatever reason, the phone seems significantly snappier/faster performing routine tasks. I think the chip upgrade or the optimizations or whatever are really effective. Finally, while I don't really care that much about losing the slight gap when closed, the new hinge is still a massive improvement in terms of giving the phone a very premium feel. Opening and closing the phone is just better!

This my first foldable and I love it, not big on picture taking but multi tasking and content watching was the deciding factor for me...

I have had 2 generations of the fold. I just cant go back to a regular phone. I have to read a lot of papers for work and take a lot of notes and warching instuctionals, it really makes your life easier when you have a fold if you are doing a lot reading and note taking.

This is going to be my first Foldable. I am still using my Note 20 Ultra while I wait on the delivery. I was going to get it through Samsung but At&t had the better offer. Instead of the $200 Sammy was giving me for my Note 9 (I love the N20U to much to part with it) At&t gave me $1,000 for the Note 9. They also gave me 50% off of the Slim S-pen case with pen included and the free storage upgrade to 512gb. I couldn't pass that up so I pre-ordered the phone on the 10th the last day of the promo. To my utter shock and excitement I already got the text that the device has shipped and will be here Monday!!!! It's been a little over 3 years since I purchased a new phone. I just loved the N20U and it's the longest I have ever gone w/o upgrading. I am ready to embrace the Foldable world now!!!!

U nailed it. Having a tablet n stylus with u. Samsung is smart to have fantastic multitasking software. Was gonna pull the trigger but waiting for OnePlus. Also, not in a rush n may buy fold 5 next year. This way I get to see release of iPhone, pixel, etc. I’m hoping pixel 8 chip fixes issues. If they do, P8 at same price point is still great value. I like ur unbiased content. Ur a pixel fan like me but keeping it real with this currently being a better fold.

I am trying to talk myself into upgrading from the Fold 3 to this, but the 4 is so cheap and is it really worth it over the 4?

Samsung gave me 1400.00 for my fold 3 when I got the fold four. I bought it toward the end of last year.

I bought a flip 5. Which should be coming in 2 weeks. Excited for it. Havent had a foldable since the flip 3 so we'll see how this one works out. Rocking the s23 now so itll be good to compare the slab vs the flip

Got the z5 fold a couple of weeks now, and it's a very nice experience coming from the galaxy S22 Ultra.!!!! Of course I donr know how the experience will feel from a very basic phone with an Apple in the back, wich is the most important factor for a lot of people.

Got mine on Tuesday. Traded in my Fold 3 and got that same case. The case isn't worth $100 bucks but it's the best case for the SPen. I have the S23Ultra too though

Hold the Spen against the side of the naked phone, and you'll realize that it's meant to fit inside of the phone. Probably the fold 6.

I wish google would force full screen apps on YT etc, anyone know how soon until google forces this?

I'm not going to lie. My pixel 7 Pro just sold on swappa and I picked it up last night to get it charged and factory reset it. Wow, after predominantly being on the front screen of this thing and going back to that 7 Pro it just felt awesome. So light, thin, big screen. But I'm all in. When I finally get a chance to sit down and enjoy this big screen and when my shoulder heels from shoulder surgery and I can use this pen a little better, I think it's going to be nice long-term device😢 and I can always pick up a pixel for nothing if I need my Google fix

The Z Fold 5 is nice but I think the Z Flip 5 is a way bigger upgrade this year around. The Pixel Fold is a better folding phone for most people as I know most people won't even use half of the things that the Z Fold 5 could do. Until Samsung could fix that narrow screen in the front it's just an open your phone first device which you will get tired of real quick. The Z Flip 5 is the best camshell folding phone but the Moto Razr+ is great as well if you don't care about the camera so much.

I was actually just looking at the Z Fold 3 on eBay just a few minutes ago

I traded in my z fold 4. I was able to get the z fold 5, samsung care, watch 6 classic and slim s pen case for $1058. That's with taxes. Definitely a great deal.

I was looking at the Fold 5, but instead found a second hand Fold 4, that is just 4 month old for 500€. A 512gb version at that.

wondering.. just.. wondering..S23 Ultra 512 or Fold 5 512 as a second device.. My primary is the iPhone 13PM and been using the S23U as the 2nd for now.. but got the itch and pre ordered the Fold 5 for sure pickup tomorrow...

I screwed up & put camera screen protectors on my Z Fold5, now it won't fit in any cases, but it looks COOL!

Funny intro! It sure looks like it's Purple! The closest I ever got to a pink or purple phone is the pink gold flip4! I wish I would have ordered my Z Fold5 after my Z Flip5, then I would've gotten it in icky blue!

Why isn't anyone talking about the lack of air gestures on this new slim s pen for the fold 5.... i feel duped. I love the features of my 22 ultra's pen!!!

If I wasn’t broke I’d definitely be ordering it from Samsung just for the exclusive blue color with the blacked out trim over the stainless. Wish that carriers had that option

IMHO, I have the zfold 5 but the pixel fold is alot better for me and the way I use my phone for. 1) I don't not need or use the pen that often to want it. 2) I watch alot of RU-vid which is better on the pixel. 3) I do not need more than 2 tabs open cuz i mainly use one side for youtube and the other as a timer for my workouts. 4) the front screen is amazing and what I envisioned how a fold should be used. Phone first and tablet 2nd. 5) it's just a good looking phone. I just opted for the zfold 5 cuz of the uncertainty of a first gen product, not to mention that the zfold 5 had a better deal overall and the oneui is very reliable! And regardless of the form, the build of the phone, the hinge etc on the fold5 is also very reliable. So yeah.

Hi TechOdyssey. I want your advice. Should I buy Z fold 5 or not. My employer will buy it for me. I have no obligation to return it. So, its kool! They bought Note S20 ultra 3 years ago at my request. Now they have approved buying Z Fold 5. However, I don't think they gonna keep approving my requests all the time. I suspect this might be the last instance. I have one chance and I can use it now or next year or year later. What if I buy Z Fold 5 now and next year we get Fold 6 with a slightly wider screen and S pen which goes inside the phone, I would have lost the option of buying a much improvised version - Fold 6 - literally for free. So my question: should I buy Fold 5 or wait for Fold 6? I can buy it free but I got only one chance. Pls advice!

hope fold 6 would have atleast 5500mah battery, wider screen with 165hz refresh screen and 960hz touch response rate,better camera,bypass 60 to 80 watts charging and quad speakers

GET THE INSURANCE!. Don't get the Samsung insurance. Get it through your carrier. I had the fold 4. Suddenly it started having a problem that the store couldn't fix. My insurance replaced the phone. They don't have any more 4's so I got a free upgrade to the 5! It's in my hot little hands right now. LOL.

Just wanted to report i got my August update yesterday on my Pixel 6 pro....it definitely seemed to stabilize the interface and slightly better battery life

If you like the S Pen from the Z Fold 4 better, I'm pretty sure if you have the Fold 5 Grip case it's compatible with the Fold 4 S Pen holder case attachment. I receive mine sometime today and can check then to confirm.

I turned up the brightness on my Z Fold 5 up to its 1700 optimal, and I damn near blinded myself, and for a brief moment turned my eyeballs into bacon 🥓!

Great video.. always more of a flip guy.. but the fold keeps calling my name. I think I'll enjoy my flip 5 this year and next year I might make the switch to the fold. Maybe.. Lol

I have the 4. I am not upgrading. There’s not enough meat on the bone that warrants an upgrade.

I was thinking $1,000 was a good trade-in value for my Fold 4. Then you point out they're giving the same for an S22 ultra. Kind of sucks that my one-year-old $1,800 phone isn't getting any more trade-in value than a 2 year old s22 Ultra. Which was the worst 'Ultra' phone over the last 3 years. And it was being sold pretty cheap for a long time.

I actually returned mine... Wasnt that impressed. Then again i wasnt a big fan of the fold 4 either. Im holding onto my S23 Ultra. I rather have the durability and better battery life and better aspect ratio. The screenshots are so weird on both the inner and outter display. Not as comfortable to hold as i thought either. Maybe when it gets less thick it would be okay. Another thing is having to find the port to charge bugged me for some reason.. i know. Weird lol. Im gonna stick to the Ultra models from here on out i think. Foldables arent for everyone 🤷‍♂️. Still a gimmick for me.

So heres the flaw with everyone consistently arguing for samsung's credit on trade ins that im amazed no reviewers address. If youre on a conventional phone plan in the US, google fi, or purchase directly from Samsung or iphone, youre not buying a phone outright. Theyve reported the numbers consistently: people lease phones and make payments gradually and then upgrade. So ive done this woth iphone and samsung and just recently the pixel fold. I didnt pay $1800. I paid verizon $300. And my payments per month increaed $15. And in a year i can return it and upgrade and probably pay $300 with no monthly increase. the number of ppl paying full price are either in a tax bracket where the deal doesnt matter, tech reviewers, or someone holding on for years
