7,4 center that actually post up and uss his size. that rare in todays era

Haters on Edey don't understand or want to understand that he is running an offense that is based on this play style. That doesn't mean this is all he can do. Edey shoots well from the line and at the draft combine he hit multiple 3's in a row with great form. At Purdue he did what the coaches asked of him and clearly excelled. Why I think he has a chance to be good in the NBA is he wont have 3 guys draped on him at all times, he will ALLOWED to be more creative/shoot and the BIGGEST reason is he is unbelievably durable/in shape. I've never heard of a guy this big playing entire games before and he doesn't miss any games. Idc what you say that's mind blowing - he's 7'4 and 300 pounds.

He moves like my 70 ovr MyCareer player from 2k13 who still finishes every game with a A+ teammate grade

Now this is a true Center. Crazy that everyone is saying no one is gonna draft him. It doesn't matter because there are still teams that value the classic center role.

in the pick and roll, Edey surprisingly does not look that slow moving to the basket. His game is essentially all of what Jakob Poeltl is, a 7'+ big who's slow, a good shot blocker, decent rebounder, a floater/push shot and hook(Edey will probably develop these). he also has the height to be able to shoot over guys in the mid range, like Porzingis. He might not be that strong, but being 7'4 he is heavy enough to punish other centers in the paint, catch lobs and maybe some spin moves if he learns. Edey basically has more offensive skill than Gobert(primarily he dunks/catches lobs), and almost as much as Poeltl. Both of these guys are successful defensive big men in the league. Tell me how Edey, who has even more height than both of these guys, and a longer wing span, can't be able to thrive in the NBA. like y'all don't think with an NBA shooting coach he can't develop at least a midrange??

People saying he's only big in the NCAA and will get bodied in the league. They often compare him to Zubac (or heck, 6'9 Tyler Hansborough, lol). C'mon now, Edey is going to be a giant in the NBA as well. He's 7'4 with a 7'11 wingspan. Zubac is 7' with a 7'4 wingspan. That's a massive difference... The only player with similar size with Boban (and if Wemby goes on steroids), but Edey is clearly more coordinated and athletic. People also complaining the league is soft now - well great, even easier for him to take over.

He adds size and physicality to a Canadian team that needs it. Imagine his screens opening up drives for Shai, or 3 pointers for Murray, or dominating in the paint for when opposing perimeter defenses put in the pressure.

He's a SERIOUS inside threat... in college. He's gonna have to gain muscle, increase his footwork, and get a mid range r extend his hook shot to really impact the league tho. I can see him going to the Warriors when cp3 on the floor, the hornets for their pick n roll game, r just a defensive piece for the like the Pistons r sum

Quite the highlight reel for a player who never won a National Championship during his whole tenure at Purdue.

Can’t wait to see this kid play in the NBA. He’s just too big at 7’4” 300 lbs. I can definitely see him go through Chet, Mobley, Allen, Bam, Gobert, Davis, or even Wemby just like how Yao dominated Bradley … well, unless he plays with any one of them.

Put on a bit muscle and USE it more. Develop a good sky hook. He'll be completely unstoppable. I notice that a lot of the defensive players against Edey were getting away with a lot of pushing and shoving. Edey has to work on not getting pushed off the block. The refs are just not calling those. Those players should be fouling out bc there's no way they can guard him.

if he played in the 80s or 90s he would be the goat but he doesn't have an outside presence, which is needed in today's NBA. Can't be dunkin the ball all the time.

Hear me out, but here’s some food for thought (I’m a delusional laker fan). What if with the lakers’ 17th pick we select him to bolster our front court alongside Anthony Davis. Essentially returning AD back to the 4 which he’s always expressed how comfortable he is. Then with Edey ,naturally at the five. We bring back Dwight Howard and keep Christian wood. That’d give LA good size…pause but a lot of options to compete with opposing centers and slashers. I’d say it’s the best choice of direction the lakers have in this year’s draft. It’s prolly never happening but a cool scenario to think about…
