Zbroia Hortitsia review-Big Dan's Airguns. 

Hi Stephen! The Hortitsia is a lovely rifle. The only thing I'd recommend is that you put the rifle through a chronograph to check the power. It should be fine but it's always worth testing on a new gun.

Mines the same, loves JSB exact heavys.

Hi Keith, Thanks mate! They're absolutely stunning rifles in my opinion it's just such a shame that my arms were tired after pumping it up so much as I made a bit of a tit of myself with that unrested group haha. The Hortitsia was also in contention for the "best airgun of the year" award against the Daystate Red Wolf, HW100 and the S510 ultimate sporter! Ridiculously impressive considering the price difference. The Hortitsia's and the Kozak's are an amazing bit of kit.

Well with each PCP I review from now on I'm going to try and include a full shot string test to see exactly how many shots you get per fill along with pellet testing. Originally I was worried that the longer videos might get a bit boring but so far the feedback has been pretty good so we'll keep doing what we're doing until people get sick of us haha.

They're ridiculously accurate, have great shot counts, solidly built, pretty sexy in my opinion and they actually cost sensible money. See if you can have a play with one Scott I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Lawson! They really are a lovely thing to shoot, I'd happily put a Zbroia against any top make air rifle in an accuracy competition. The shot count compared to some of the more expensive marques is a lovely added bonus as well.

Kozak update That magazine index arm is very poor indeed, it's been replaced 2 times now and no matter how gentle you are it eventually bends so it does not index. I have now made a stronger version from s/s and has not missed a beat since. Why oh why can't Zbroia do the same, this is the only negative with this gun other than that it is as accurate as my brocock and the perfect Ratter.

@@furion3555 It's the only weak spot on these rifles mate and it can be a bloody nuisance!! Our suppliers have since received the latest batch of Hortitsia's so it'll be interesting to see if they've updated the cycling arms at all.. it really does need doing. They're a lovely thing to shoot aren't they? The thing that some cheaper rifles can fall down on is this trigger but I absolutely adore these trigger units. What did you think of the straight pull action?

Hi Len, with our latest reviews we push the rifles out to 35 yards or 50-60 yards if the weather behaves. Once things brighten up we'll be back in the field for our longer ranged testing. Cheers mate and I agree 100% but we'll see what we can do!

Hi Doc! The Zbroias were lovely rifles. We dealt with them up to the first batch of the Mk II models but they weren't the most reliable rifle unfortunately. That said I'd love it if we could get the Mk III over here as it's a great looking rifle and would be very popular if they can get them working well for our power levels.

Hi PJ. Ahh now that's the awkward one. For me personally I prefer the Hortitsia simply because it fits me better although many out there prefer the Kozak. Both use the exact same barrel and so it's mainly simply how the rifle fits the shooter that is the main factor when purchasing one over the other. Regarding reliability that's an awkward one for me to call, the HW100 is known for its reliability whereas the Zbroias haven't been out for so long. What I will say is that the Zbroias did have a dodgy batch of rifles (although I think it was only in the UK) where the rifles suffered from spiking regulators and leaks. Since then however the rifles have been fitted with brand new regulators and new air cylinders and so far we've yet to have a single failure with the current batch. Overall I'd give the nod to the HW100 when it comes to reliability but for accuracy its a tie between the pair of them (one of my previous customers actually said that his Hortitsia was actually better than his HW100!). Hi Chris, I think it's a case of "horses for courses". I do like the Kozak and I can appreciate that it's faster handling but for me personally I'd take the Hortitsia every day of the week. I personally think it's a nicer looking bit of kit whereas while the Kozak does look nice... it to me just looks like "another bullpup".

Thanks Phillip, regarding the .25 barrel as far as I'm aware they don't make one yet for the Hortitsia. That being said the new Zbroia Sapsan which should be out in a few months time can have a .25 barrel as an optional extra so fingers crossed they might be able to port them over to the Hortitsia and Kozak.

Gotta add, I bought zbrioa kosak 177 last week, can't fault it, I have Steyr HW and Air arms, and every top Springer! I only shoot at 25/7 yards and all shoot mega accurate, my favourites HW 80 and 35, the Zbrioa is up there with the others with a 3 FPS spread over 10 shots. Time will tell how it holds out, but the quality appears very good. Hortitsia next. 💪

Hey Gavin, Well as an RFD I'll seem biased if I answer the first bit but when it comes to accuracy there's actually a thread on the Airgunforum UK where a customer of mine actually compared his Hortitsia to his HW100 at 30yards and you may find the results surprising.

Hi Donald, There was a little bit of wind for this review but the main issue is that while were I sit is usually sheltered from the wind the target can get broadsided from wind coming up the field. For future videos I'll see if I can get a type of wind sock set up so we can both see exactly what the wind is doing. Air gauge is on the end of the air tube. He mentions it after about 12.07 and you can see it throughout the video.

I've shot air rifles for over 40 yrs. Started with .22 springers, then a .20 gas ram, then on to a .22 pcp and most recently a .177 pcp. All of them did the job cleanly & humanely. Accuracy & shot placement is what matters. A rabbit shot through the brain is dead regardless of calibre. My preference after those 40 yrs of shooting is .177. But I'd happily use any of the 3 calibers I mentioned. Find the best pellet for your gun, do your homework on aimpoints at different ranges and only shoot at ranges within your ability (not the guns) and enjoy your shooting. Don't fret about the calibre. Hope this helps.

Hi Cesar. Although I don't advise leaving the mag in place you can definitely leave it in the rifle with no risk of wear or damage as long as the rifle isn't left cocked. Cheers mate and all the best.

I would love to mate but I'm busy for quite a lot of the day and it may take me a heck of a long time to do. On top of that the rabbits around this way are dying out to a weird new disease that is causing them to bleed out and the numbers are worryingly thin. I haven't gone rabbiting in about 2 years because of it and even now there's barely a single one to be seen.

Hi Dan. We're all feeling the pinch these days eh mate? If the Hortitsia is a bit too steep I highly recommend the Artemis M16. The stock isn't quite so unique but it shoots every bit as well. Thanks Dan and all the best.

Hi Phillip! Yours does better than my S410 did ya jammy bugger ;) I got mid 50's absolute tops before it bled off fairly sharply. Other than that though (and the lefty stock haha) I loved mine. The S410's and the Hortitsia's have a very similar feel to them in my opinion. Thanks Phillip.
