I am going to get jar feeders like those, but I"m wondering if the birds fling a lot of seed out that then goes in through the wire mesh you have. It would go to waist, right?
ooops another question please. grin. Where did you get the jar feeders. So cool. And do you have any idea if I built an indoor avairy 3 ' x 3 ' and about 18 inches deep. Will probably have another section built on to the right top so it is in an L shape. The Cage I have them in right now is 22" x 15 " and on line it said only 1 bird for that. Crazy. Right now I have mom and dad and 3 baby girls who thankfully are coming out in about 5 days.
I read some time ago that there was a problem with keeping finches and budgies together in that the budgies had a habit of biting the finches' toes off. Have you ever had this happen?
well i like to please my birds if they like to do something so be it ,just change the water more offten , they love to bath i would not deprive them that
I feed them greens 2 or 3 times a week, too much acts like a laxative. When breeding i give them eggfood every day. Taking out any leftover greens & soft food at night. Cheers mate.
Hi, "These Feeders Look GREAT!" I thought while the birds eating seed & drinking water that you were going to begin Demonstrate How you made them, but the Video just Ended. I did think that they ALL looked "Too Perfect" in Design that they must be Manufactured, and Store bought. But You Didn't give Any Product Information about these Unique Feeders! I need to Ask you Why? And Where did you buy them? What is the Name of them? Who makes them? How much are they? Would You Please tell me, and Other RU-vid Viewers...Where, How to, How much, What's the Name of these Feeders, etc. So I Might want to Purchase these Bird feeders, too? I would appreciate that, a lot. Thank you, Sincerely, Eliza
It looks like a normal finch mix , BUT because some pet shops are lazy and don't stock them they can eat Canary Seed if you can't find finch mix/foreign finch seed
Newhotness They'll eat it for sure. Finch mix usually is mostly types of millet and a little Canary seed, where Canary mixes don't usually have much millet, if any. Have a go at making your own mix/ratio.. to what suits you best. Happy breeding.
Mickey Jo's Craft Shack There are a few flight sections in the aviary. Jar feeders can be picked up at your local bird sale/auction or from other birdy type events. Your 3ft square aviary you mentioned in another post will be fine for your family of birds. Thanks again.
