the artwork that was made for the manual they always looked really cool. it would be kinda neat if there was a part of the game where monsters could attack the town. i always knew you guys would make a good episode together

It’s a beautiful manual. I’m sure it’s quite the collector’s item. A monster raid would be awesome! Kasuto Village probably represents that but a more realized version could be something special.

Great vid guys! I loved this game as a kid. I had Zelda 2 but not Zelda 1, so I always kinda wished I had Zelda 1, but I still enjoyed Zelda 2, and as I grew older my love for the game only grew stronger

Great interview Captain! Omega knows those NES games in and out! I had Z2 on the backlog to play this year but got really busy. I'll be lucky to finish Fable and DQ7. The gameplay looks really fun. Only game of that style I ever beat was Faxanadu. Battle of Olympus, Simon's Quest and Rambo also look fun.

It’s Tylord! Omega not only knows the NES games, he knows their Japanese Famicom counterparts! That’s amazing. Fable and DQ7 are terrific in my eyes. If there were two games I’d push for you to play, it would be those two.

You can ignore OoT, Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, those three could just as well be a different franchise. And you can drop the timeline split structure too.

There's a really good fan remake of this game too! It's in the same style as the NES game though.

The visual aide is crazy because it seems to be made in animation CELs. Plastic. Why? I bet to evoke the animated film The Flight of Dragons 1982 that this is based on. Additionally the Phillips CDi Zelda was praised at the time as stunning, and it wasn't THAT far off from the cinematic and home video animation quality at the time. Check out Filmation's Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night, or Ghostbusters. It looks fairly similar to TopCraft animation, just with cheaper Russian animation like Phonk Walk using the Russian treasure planet. Keep in mind JAPANESE animation was mostly cheaper and didn't look any better.
