Can't wait for mine to arrive, made a massive difference on my quest 2 - I have a few scratches on my eyeglasses too so its really had a negative effect on my viewing experience so far! Thanks for your review

I have myopia, but I always thought you don't need glasses for VR because the screens are literally in front of your eyes. So I played without glasses on Q1, I then played without glasses on Q2 and now I played without glasses even on Q3. After hearing everyone say how sharp and crisp the Q3 screens are, I was very dissapointed after seeing them. To me it looked the same as on Q2. Some text was hard to read, I had to make the text bigger in the settings. And I was like "oh well, I guess it still has a long way to go" I was sad, but still excited about having new Quest. Then I saw the trailer for the lenses from Meta. I was like "really, whyy? It surely must be for farsighted people". But I still decided to put my glasses on and try it with the headset. OMG!! My freaking JAW DROPPED! The freaking screen and text was SO CLEAR!! I was laughing out of surprise and excitement for like a minute or two. I couldn't believe it! Mindblowing!!! ALL THOSE YEARS I WAS SO STUPID!! I still don't understand HOW?! The screens are centimeters in front of your eyes! But man, this is a game changer. I've ordered these lenses and I can't wait!!

So glad you tried with your glasses. The Quest 3 screens are designed for someone with 20/20 vision. I am nearsighted and everything was blurry on my Quest 2 without glasses, so I got the prescription lenses and became a believer. The Quest 3 does have better “screens”, but just like the Quest 2, it is geared toward 20/20 vision. The Zenni lenses make it picture-perfect for me. Glad my video helped you out. The lenses increase the focal distance, so on the Quest 2 at least your eyes believe you are focusing on something 4ft away at least. There’s an optician for VR RU-vidr who explains this well.

Hold something to your face centimetres away and try and focus on it. You can’t, the lenses in a VR headset focus the image and the stereoscopic viewpoint has a focal distance, I think it’s something like 7ft for Q3

@@Raskull I love them. Helps protect the quest 3 lenses. I can see clearly through them. They do not distort the picture in any way. Mine are non rx because I had lasik several years ago. As for the ones with prescriptions I cannot speak for them. I checked the express shipping option at checkout for 20.00, and I received mine in only 2 days. I know they will ship fast for people that choose this option, and who are non rx.

You’re welcome. Did your glasses not fit inside the facial interface? Mine were a little bit of a squeeze and put pressure on my temples and nose, but I was at least able to try the Quest 3 before my lenses came in.

@@Raskull They did just fit but pressed against my face causing them to mist up and was pretty uncomfortable. For some reason I was able to use the Q2 without my glasses or lenses, perhaps because the screen wasn't that sharp to begin with!

@@pmarsay Yeah, that misting part is probably the worst. My glasses had humidity (probably from sweat) on them for 10-15 minutes after I took them off and set them on the table. The enlarged Field of View (FOV going forward) compared to the narrower FOV of the Q2 makes the Zenni lenses even more important for the Q3.

I love VR Optician, used them for 2 other headsets so a shame they didn't get early access to the Quest3 like Zenni did I would like to have got them. I used my glasses for about a week but had to break and just order the Zenni's - hate using glasses with VR

You need to try prescription lenses outside of the 'big' brands. I myself purchased prescription lenses for my Quest 2 from AliExpress about 2 years ago and have been very happy with them. I would question if I need to spend 3 or 4 times the amount from the 'bigger' brannds.

On my Quest 2 I used a different company then they recommended, and they worked. On launch day for the Quest 3, I wasn't aware of any other companies offering lenses. Which smaller-brands companies did you find on launch day for Quest 3 lenses and how has your experience been? I would be willing to check them out. I will say that my purchase and customer service experiences with Zenni have been excellent. Sometimes you pay extra for good support.

Would you mind giving your opinion after 4 months of use? On a scale of 1-10 with a 5 being wearing glasses with the meta, 0 no glasses and can’t see and 10 being as if you didn’t need glasses perfect vision naked meta quest how would you rate them? Also, if you have the time can I please ask what your prescription is cylinder and sphere wise and if you have any astigmatism? I will say I’ve been using Zenni for years and they’re great. The price is pretty cheap and the lens clarity is a lot better. For $80-100 I can get high end lenses and frames and transitions + blue light blocking that would normally cost me $400+. I apologize for the many questions, thank you so much for your help! Your information would help a lot in figuring out what to do my meta quest 3 is coming this week and I’m new to vr. My prescription isn’t horrible but it’s fairly high with a lot of astigmatism and eye strain and allergies. I can only see about half a foot in front of me so like reading, a computer and phone I don’t use glasses due to eye strain but anything else it’s a blurry mess even going to the bathroom or grabbing a glass of water is a struggle without glasses lol.

I would say the experience is a 10. I can see clearly without having to try to fit my glasses into the Quest 3 and that's a huge win. I do have a slight astigmatism and as long as you have a good prescription, your lenses will be great. I am also nearsighted, like you and I can read my phone and tablet with no glasses. I do use a variant of my distance prescription to work at the computer all day (I bought these "computer" glasses from Zenni and love them).

Do you just use your normal distance prescription? Or do you need to have the prescription optimized for a certain physical distance. I'm getting my annual eye exam soon and want to make sure I get the proper prescription to send to Zenni.

This is a great question Especially for people that either wear bifocals, trifocal, or if you're like me you have different glasses for PC use and distance. VR screens are calibrated for 20/20 distance vision. I know it sounds weird since the screens are so close to your eyes, but that's how they are "focused". So for Zenni VR lens inserts, make sure you provide your distance prescription.

What is the Focal Distance of the Quest 3? I need to get a perscription from my eye doctor but in order to get the best clarity I need the fixed distance to give them.

Does fog build up on the main lenses through the prescription ones if you attach them? Like sometimes when I wear the VR, fog builds up and I need to clean it but to avoid making scratches on the main lenses I wanna get these ones (also have bad eye vision too)...

I have noticed a little fogging/moisture on the Zenni’s, but nothing in the main lenses.

Is the Axis on your left eye and right eye both 85 as shown on the lens labels? I noticed both of the ones you got from Zenni say 85. A user on Reddit says that Zenni used the same Axis on both lens, when the prescription actually had two different Axis values.

I checked with tech support and was told there was a printing issue on some labels. My Axis are not the same. As you noticed my labels had the same Axis. They reassured me that the lenses were made correctly and it was just a printing problem and that if I could see with the lenses, then they are indeed the correct Axis.

Ordered mine a week ago. They are on their way to UK. £25 postage was a bit of a hit. Do they have a blue tint to them to reduce glare?

I just checked them and I do not see any visible tint to the lenses. I also didn't observe any added glare while using them with my Quest 3. May I ask how you found the video?

Don't worry, they have anti-glare coating. The visuals will not be affected. It's said on the Zeni website! 😊

I got these lenses and one of them cracked around the edge after a few days. They still work good just not the build quality I was expecting for 82$ cdn.

@ninjasparx I had a similar issue on one of mine. I contacted support via their website chat and they are shipping me out all new replacements. While I was bummed about the crack, I was very impressed with the customer service. Give them a chat and get yours replaced too.

Since your 20/20 distance prescription is very, very small, I would try the Quest 3 without glasses first to see how it "looks". If you find it isn't clear, move the facial interface out a few steps and try with your distance glasses. If you see a noticeable improvement, then I would order some VR lens insets.

RU-vid has been CRUSHING 1080p bitrate, this video looks worse than 720p. You should try uploading at 1440p/4k if you can, or 1080p 60fps seems to unlock a better bitrate.

Thanks for the feedback. I uploaded a 1080p video file. Did you try changing your settings from Auto to 1080? I find that sometimes when I think a video is low quality that Auto is messing with me. Nonetheless, I will double check the recording and see if anything was different about this recording.

@@Raskull It's on RU-vid's side as they are trying to push their paid "Premium 1080p". So far 1440p/4k, and 1080p at 60fps are not affected by this change.

Do these cover the reflective rings around the lenses? I find them really distracting

I'm not sure what reflective rings you are referring to. Here is how the Zenni lens inserts attach: they have a ring that snaps inside the "circle" of the built-in lenses and the Zenni's then overlap them. I hope that paints a picture that might answer your question.

Lucky. At my age, contacts are not an option for all day use. So I could either put in contacts just for VR and then take them out, or use VR lens inserts.

Just got mine today in the mail. Disappointed. Clarity is great and everything, as expected, but they make the Quest 3's fit uncomfortable and clunkier, slightly decreases FOV obviously, lens fog can hit you pretty quickly, and it cripples the 'in and out' experience that Q3 normally provides since you'll be cleaning both the front and back side of the Zenni lenses, aside from the actual Q3 lenses. Won't be using mine anymore. Lasik eye surgery here i come. :P

Bummer that they didn't work for you. I had to adjust the facial interface to the 3rd dot to get a great fit. I find I typically only have to clean the outer part of my lenses. Perhaps moving the interface out a bit is minimizing the fogging effect. I wish I had Lasik as an option, but since I am near-sighted it would have more negatives than positives for me. I sweat a lot playing Supernatural on the Quest 3. My glasses got really fogged up. I haven't noticed any fogging using the Zenni VR lenses.

I dont see a blue light filter like many other vr lens companies give. I wouldnt use this without a blue light filter.

@@Raskull There are many. Most offer it. Theres VR-Wave (used that on my quest 2), theres Reloptix. I just ordered a reloptix lens for my new quest 3. Its a bit cheaper than vr-wave but it still has the magnetic attachment which i want. But having a screen right up to your eyes for long periods without a blue light filter isnt going to be good for your eyes.
