Glad to see the little human in charge. Shout out to Taylor for sharing him with us. Hopefully he will grow up big and tall and be lumberjack like dad and grandpa.
The syncro on the nv4500 are a carbon fiber. Allot of people.dont know that it requires a special oil. If the correct oil isn't used the syncro will wear out quickly
In the background there is a box from auto custom carpets. I bought my Dodge ram carpet from them too. Good video and good job keeping Callahan clean. I see Meccano sets in Callahan's future.
All very interesting! My fave part was seeing Callahan, he's getting big and a real sweetie! 8) LOL We won't be able to say that before too long, they grow fast!! Good stuff Sam, thanks.. 8) --gary
ratchet strap was a baller tip, you make me want to buy a old cummins so bad. but I live here in the rust belt of Ohio so those trucks are absolutely destroyed from salt. can't wait to see that charger done!
Johnny, I live in the salt region too, and I see the same here in WI. I have worked hard to keep mine looking good, but the salt can pulverize the body fast, and it's not just Dodges, I see Fords and Chevys the same too.
The easy part of dad stage. When in the garage. Next will be pack n play. That works for a while. My son is 18months no more working in garage. We play chase. Fun times.
I don’t have grinding in mine, but say if you start off in 2nd gear, it jerks, unless yah do a clutch dump roasting the tires off the back… but if you take off in 1st, 2nd gear won’t jerk… shifts fine. Well unless you wanna pass someone and gotta drop to 3rd then yah gotta redline err for a good minute to grab 3rd again. Then sometimes if yah don’t do it quick enough and let the clutch out and try going, it almost seems like I cooked the crap outta the clutch.
You have a link to your seat covers? I know you said amazon, but when I search all I get are actual covers for the seats, not covers for the foam. I have always struggled to find where people source their 2nd gen replacement seat covers.
Hi Sam!!!!!!!! Be carefull about buying "rebuilt" transmissions. I have personally seen transmissions with lots of miles that were gone through without some gears being replaced. Eventually those would fail just from long term stress. Even gears that were rarely used and looked new would break teeth off eventually. Best to replace a trans with a completely unused brand new one when possible.
I liked the truck Sam, but the black lower kind of takes away the full characteristic of the truck (my thoughts). liked watching the tear down and replacement of the necessary parts to fix the transmission, as I would like a mansmission in a Dodge with a cummins
If you engage two gears at once, it will lock the transmission shafts together. Doing this will allow you to torque everything on the bench. Of course, you can only do this before you put the shift tower back on.
I've ratchet strapped them to the bench. I understand though, 300 ft-lbs is up there. The last thing you want is 300+lb hunk of metal falling on your foot.
Hi sam do you have any plans with the other nv4500 that was "rebuilt" and you got scammed. I am looking for a dodge 4x4 nv4500 to buy for my 94 12 valve.
Yup also has 4 more that hold the center seat down that connects all the seats together. Time it would take to remove all that I was done and onto the next item on the list. Time is money
Worst thing you can do to a manual trans is to rest your hand on shifter because it wears the nylon tips off you shift forks and it will rattle like hell !
Does this truck not have a catalyst number on the ID tag? Mines I believe is zero emission aswell no cat and I was told if the Catylst number is blank no cat is required
how did you get the AC so cold?? i just redid my evap core in my 12v. everything else was new before i got the truck a 2 years ago. the condensor isnt even smashed up like they all are. and mine only gets down to 58 degrees on a 80 degree day..
@@VBELTandSON well damn, alright. I think I'm gonna try replacing the oriface tube/valve next. Have you changed those on yours? If so, which one do you put in?
Before you said you were going to use the other trans as a reference, I thought to myself, somebody needs to get their phone out and take a picture or two...lol..👍😆
hey man i think i live like really close to you because im located in Greeley hill CA about 20 mins from Groveland CA and 45 mins from Sonora CA i was just curios if you live near that area.
I’ll buy it from you. Where are you located? And what year swap kit? FYI a lot of ranchers will run short beds. Easier to get around. This ol truck has brought more cows to markets than you could imagine. Real enough for me.
