Nahh. The first touch was one of Zidane's specialties actually. Berba was great but Zidane was just magical and did some things of art with the first touch only. Besides all of his other skills of course.
Berbatov scuffs way more and this compilation doesn't do justice to the sheer quantity of crazy touches Zidane was taking during his days in Italy. His highlight reel from a single season would be longer than 3 by Berbatov
@@jhonma5122 Dude, I watched Zidane play for Juve. How could I miss Berbatov's career, which was way after that? You remember the good touches from him not the many others that he failed to control. First touch isn't just about killing the ball dead. It's about taking the ball in your stride in any situation. Zidane could do more with his touch with more parts of the body.
What people don’t know about football is when you do it against Fulham it isn’t the same as doing at against Brazil in the World Cup. Zidane every day of the week, twice on Sunday.
Zizou easily. The main difference is, Berba mostly just traps the ball with the first touch. Zidane literally dribbled people with the first touch only and opened spaces for himself. It's wasn't just about getting the ball under control. He was an absolute master of the first touch, along with many other skills. It's Zidane and it's not even particularly close imo.
They're all on the upper echelon of technicality and the difference in ability is marginal. Saying it's not even close is silly. Berba literally does what you're describing in this video.
The debate on first touch surely has to include Bergkamp, Rooney, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimović. The list could go on much longer, but these are recent players who stand out in my mind in this aspect.
@osobear4365 Van Persie wasn't overrated. He just struggled with injuries for too much of his career. I can only think of two seasons he went injury free... his last with Arsenal and his first with Utd
the difference is the Zidane used to do it in every single ball, in every single match. But credit to Berba for being the only other player you can do such a video about 👍👍
@@masculean9855 Akshually, plenty of CAMs don't cover much more ground than that between the halfline and penalty box, and remain central. Depends on the system and the manager. e.g. CAMs in a 3-5-2 make fewer runs than the 9, and stay home in the center to keep from crowding the wings. Pirlo as a CAM early in his career played this way. And I'm definitely not saying Dimi should've been a CAM _for Ferguson,_ by the way.
@@CognizantCheddar Of course. In today games most teams defend with 11 players and CAMs in defense are going back with the CMs All to say striker is his position to me. He has finishing Deeper role may not suit his playmaking style.
Zidane control the ball and continue the action to score, that's why he keep touch the ball. This is the point, all the greatness is here. This does not take away from the magic of Berbatov
Years ago I thought it was Zidane. I was wrong. Berbatov has better first touch. However, Zidane got more complete skills. Not only fantastic first touch, he has better dribbling, vision, and ball control than Berbatov.
I cannot deny the fact that Zizou is by far a better legend than Berbatov. But, Berbatov is also a pure baller with a magical first touch, his techniques, game reading, positioning and visions are on another level!!
I think they are both incredibly special and talented in this regard. But, in my opinion and in 26 years of watching football (obviously, I haven't seen every player in the history of the sport), Zidane has the best first touch I have ever seen. Either way, both players are incredibly talented.
You are brave to do this kind of video, when Zidane enters the game people looses a big part of their objectivity. Alongside Bergkamp and Zidane, Berbatov has one of the greatest first touch ever. Congrats for the videos !
Some of the best touches I’ve ever seen are berbatov and ozil. Marcelo has had some insane sneaky touches but never got that shine compared to if he was on any other team than Madrid but man those three guys have insane control but berba is up there with the best of them in composure and that feathery touch like the air just totally left the ball after he touched it. lol
Berbatov was good with the ball at his feet. Zidane was good with the ball all over. He would take the ball from the air like an eagle, dribble it over your head and wherever the ball chose to roll he didn't care, because just like a cat he would rule over. Would you look at DENNIS BEGKARMP and be mesmerized 🎉🎉
Berbatov, Zidane and Mahrez are all candidates, but just because it's obvious I can't stop mentioning how fantastic Maradona Messi and Ronaldinho's first touch was/is. My personal favorite has to be Dennis Bergkamp's though.
Zidane VS Rabiot who was the greatest medfield in the France national team, it's that bad. we're comparing anybody to Zidane nowadays shameful, shameful.
Berbs controled the ball to calm it down and think of his next move. Zidane next move was included in his first touch. Zidane can trap the ball and be stationary like berb but he was more attack minded and played deeper so he his first touch had to be followed by a quick dribble or pass
With his first touch, Berbatov blocked the ball. With his first touch, Zidane owned the ball. Berba was fantastic but you can see that sometimes the ball is pretty far from him after the first touch. Not for ZZ who had even more diversity with the way of doing it.
When it comes to touches zidane is not even close..the only player that comes close is Henry but barbertov still has the best ball touches ever in the game
Zidane all day long. i'd say 5 stand oud if we're talking abput first touch specidically Iniesta: Maradona, Ronaldinho, Bergkamp and Zidane. Messi's great too but most of the years he could also just fly bly them
Messi's first touch was better than Iniesta's. He was constantly dealing with more difficult balls further forward. Iniesta's is very accurate but not very spectacular. I'd have quite a few others ahead of him. Cassano, Baggio, Romario, Stojkovic, riquelme, Zlatan, Pele all deserve a shout before Iniesta imo.
You already made a comp fof Zizou so this vid being a longer version of onlg Berbatov first touches wouldve been better. Anywys I vote Zizou because he could trap the ball in multiple ways better than Berba (chest for ex)
Zidane is unarguably a football legend. however, talking about the term of touches and playing magnificence no one comes near Berbatov, not even greatest legends including Pele, Di Stefano, Maradona, C.Ronaldo, Messi. unlike Berbatov, Zidane still took too much strength and power on the touches
