Can you use a mini uvb bulb in the halogen mini dome I want the uvb light without the heat of the halogen bulb.

Sadly you cannot. The mini UVB bulb is to long and would extend beyond the face of the mini dome. However, you CAN use the Mini UVB in the Zilla single low profile fixture.

@Snakedude1814 hey man great video. Do you know if it would be a good heat source for nocturnal animals with the zilla mini night red bulb ?

I’d suggest using that during the day time for nocturnal animals, as it’ll be a lower light level. But for night time use. Use no lights as that would mimic the pitch black nights that a nocturnal reptile would prefer. Using the “night reds” during the day though will offer a less intense “daylight” to nocturnal species whose eyes may not be as well suited for bright daylight bulbs! 👍🏻

It's interesting but im curious. ..how much uvb do they read on a solar meter 6.5? Or are you using them for basking spots? I'm a fan of natural habitat lol

+Red Ohmai I am not sure the UVB output under a solar meter. However for my snakes. The UVB is com under with basking at a 5% UVB from the bulbs. And the bearded dragon basks at a 10% UVB from the bulbs.

Snakedude1814 okay no worries I didn't know if the halogen lights you were reviewing put off in a UVB or not. I have a ton of dragons so I go through a lot of bulbs :)

+Red Ohmai Oh Yes! In that case. The actual halogens do not provide UVB. However. I am also using the MINI CFL's that are made by Zilla as well in conjunction with the actual halogen bulbs.

It all depends on the fixture. For a crepuscular species like a leopard gecko. You’d want to use the mini heat and UVB fixture.

With crested geckos (since they do not require any supplemental heating), you’d be best off avoiding the use of a halogen heat bulb. Their Tropical 25 UVB bulbs however would work well!

As previously mentioned: Zilla’s Tropical 25 UVB bulb would be an excellent light source to use for a crested gecko.

Hey man, Thanks a lot🥳, I wanted to see a little review on it because I am getting a Bearded Dragon soon!! And I saw this and Amazon and thought "This is too good to be true." But do they work Good With Bearded Dragons?

The Mini Domes will work well! However when it comes to UVB for a bearded dragon. Your best bet is a Zoomed or Arcadia T5 fluorescent bulb.

Typically for bearded dragons I would suggest RepCal’s “Phosphorus Free Calcium” along with their “Herpvite” multivitamin supplement.

No. The mini halogens only produce heat. You will need a separate UVB bulb such as the Zoomed ReptiSun 10.0 T5 linear fluorescent.
