Zippo Tutorial - Cheapest Brass Finish Zippo 

I’ve done this method twice… soaked it for 24hrs then started scraping it off from the bottom with a piece of thin soft plastic I customised to half the size of a credit card, and then slowly pushing upwards taking the matte finish off. Both of mine came out looking like a street/tumble finish. I polished one up and looks better than a normal highly polish zippo… the other I left as is because I actually like the finish. Just make sure you clean the inside and lightly polish the best you can or it turns green 😊

Cheapest Zippo ever is the plain "Street Chrome" version (looks like a brushed & tumbled finnish all in one). However, if a Matte painted finish is the cheapest in certain areas.. this is an excellent project !! Great job! Looks great

Use a Dremel with a cotton buff wheel it will shine like a new penny try Brasso polish !

I used nail polish remover and a guitar pick

Try Brasso for polishing brass and copper !!!

Use a wool wheel lots of sheep in your country buff it with toothpaste ! A dremel or a grinder atach a wool wheel

Got to thinking why the plain brass vs painted brass is cheaper and it must be because when you buy a plain brass they usually come with a 'brass insert' so I wonder if that's why the plain brass with brass insert is more, because of the brass insert ? Your painted Zippo insert is chrome like all of my painted ones unless they came as brass with the brass insert...
