I'm 36 and I've been driving big Audi's for over 17 years now, I came across your channel and I've fallen in love with this bike. I'm going to order one in April for the summer to get some experience in riding. I'm 6ft5 so hoping I can fit I did see another review of someone else who was my height. I also live in Devon .. ✌🏽☮️😁
Great Video! The modifications do look sick and I see what you mean about the style, your bike isn't my usual style but you might be changing my mind. Maybe my previous bikes just aren't the right style for me ha ha! Going to go look at bikes tomorrow! Keep up the great content, any future mods you makes could be good to have tutorials or time lapses?
Legend mate and is it what colour you gone for? Yeah hope it helps mate like I said hasn’t put me off in anyway still been a fucking amazing bike and done like 9000 miles on it already so it’s not bad really
@@ThrottleThrasher the orange and black. Just passed 700 miles. I can't comment on the other issues, but the wiring is all wrapped up now, not strapped to the metal so I guess they were aware of the issue. Ht leads etc all fine atm
you have to upkeep every bike quite often. make sure tyres are good, make sure wires are waterproofed, make sure fuel is clean, make sure air filter is clean etc etc
I’ve listed just put a deposit on one of these day as I love all the features, I really wanted another MT but for the price I went for one of these. I’ve seen quite a few of your videos, great content, keep it up. Just wanted to ask if you’ve found any crash protection for these yet?
Hi mate, got a similar zontes to yours and surprise, surprise got the same fuel cap issue. Pressing down the fuel cap didn't work for me. Any suggestion pls 🙏??
thank you for these videos! gonna copy all the upgrades, especially the wire cutting metal will be sorted by the weekend 🤣 I love mine so much. 500km on it so far, can’t wait to put on a better sounding exhaust and bar end mirrors. update: did you encounter the problem of losing power uphill? if so, what did you do to avoid it?
Cheers mate appreciate it ! Yeah I’d definitely do that ! And I think it’s just a 125 thing mate not got that much power could change the sprockets tho but would then power on the straights so I’ve left mine as it is on the big big hills will go down to 40 mph minimum!
Hahah you recon mate sounds about right don’t have a lot of good luck like I said in the video tho on 9000 miles now and live in Devon so the roads are fucking terrible so bumpy and full of pot holes and mud everywhere 😂
Grate vidio mate the thing is with that problem with the wires if bikes under warranty and thay see that the problematical area has been tampered with i beleve thay can refuse to fix it is that correct thank for briging my attention to this as i hav seen another vidio who says the same thing regarding those exact wires 👍
Yeah that’s correct I probably did void the warranty but I didn’t purchase the bike from new so not sure if it could be transferred and unfortunately I’m 100 mile round trip away from the local dealer and needed the bike for work so was my only option but glad I got rid of the bike got to 12,000 miles the the electric got really bad lost most thing like speedo ,abs set didn’t lock or unlock fuel cap so fucked it off
Cheers mate hope these were helpful in some way! Let me know if there anything you wanna see on the channel will try my best always appreciate ideas need a mic next !
@@ThrottleThrasher yeah deffo! Maybe you could give us some maintenance tips (summer and winter - and storing your bike properly during the winter times) for the zontes or 125cc bikes in general. You could also show us a 0-60mph (timed) + top speed. I'll comment on your vids if anything comes to my mind that i'll like to see content on mate 👍
@@LBMuslim94 that’s perfect thank you mate appreciate that yeah maintenance videos are coming soon I recon try show how to do a full oil change and filter then do the air filter and spark plug ! Then going to show how to replace rear break pads soon as mine are nearly gone ! Thanks for the suggestions!!
@@ThrottleThrasher agree with the maintenance vids! Just basic stuff to keep bike running it’s best. Oil change would be sound! & maybe how to tighten the chain, & how tight etc 👍
Good vid mate, I have the same bike! Same Colour as well. Love it. I have had a couple issues tho, first was a starting issue, but put a new battery in and it’s ok for now. But also since I bought it (second hand) the full beam has never worked. Any ideas what it could be? 👍
Thank you mate appreciate it let me know if there’s ever anything you want to see on the channel ! Maybe the gig beam led has gone rare they go especially as can’t imagine it’s that’s old and I know this sounds stupid but I assume you have the light switch on that’s under the ignition switch that makes all the things on the bars light up red?
if you want a free tattoo get in touch mate, thankyou for clearing some things up especially the cutting out when wet although it happens to me in the rain as well. my indicators filled with water on the side the bike leans after the first wash, seat release and fuel cap stopped working, audio beeps don't work, hazard lights flash on/off randomly after starting the bike, red button stopped working so now i use the side button in the little hatch to start the bike. Bike bogs down violently when wet. clutch sensor broke, the only things left to go are my forks and side stand. absolutely gutted about the lack of water proofing on this bike. why go to the lengths of design manufacture and ABS to cheap out on the electrics. i ride every day of the week bar one for work, some mornings I'm just hoping it starts .
Where are you from mate may take you up on that assume your obviously a tattooist? Really it seems like mixed opinions on these mines in 12000 miles now still going strong especially once I changed the coil pack and ht lead as that’s why it was faulty when it got wet
Nice video! May I ask where did you get the exhaust? Do you think it’s worth buying it? Then, do you think that in comparison to other naked bikes it is at the same level (like ktm duke and mt 125)? I ask you all this because in the future I would like to buy one aswell
Yeah I’d say it’s worth it 100% even just for the link pipe as you can then change it anytime you want and just put a new van on it ! The exhaust I have tho was for an mt 125 as got it with the bike so I just cut off the muffler and welded the link pipe on ! Personally I would say so yeah although it’s Chinese the build quality is amazing and the bikes done very well just hit 9000 miles in 7 months and only had the few small issues I mentioned in this video so I’d definitely recommend the bike!!
High, this video has been enlightening for me, my ZTu1 125 has been having some similar issues so i shall be looking at what you have found. would you be able to tell me the upgraded HT lead you brought was please, i think i will change it regardless...
It maybe the ht lead like mine was . I just replaced it with a stock one that’s been fine since but ……. The bike doesn’t like water and broke down in December last year has been off the road for a while but fixed now had a lot of messages on Instagram and RU-vid with people having similar problems! It turns out like I say they don’t like water especially if not kept in a garage . My main fuse board under the seat started to corrode due to water going up under the seat so I lost abs and Speedo one day then days later she wouldn’t start like I say this was the fuse board rusting so was getting no connection so I took all the little connectors that hold the fuses in our and sanded them and put waterproof greese on the fuses and put them back in and been fine since .. also dried out my ecu on a heater as I’ve heard some peoples Zontes have had ecu failure due to moisture building up inside stay tuned I got a video dropping in this next week and a 1 year review !
@@ThrottleThrasher Thank you for answering my message. I got mine in July last year and it started playing up the same way and yes it looks like wet weather is the cause. I unfortunately can't keep mine in a garage, its outside under a motorbike cover sheet thing. There is one thing that has happened with mine that I have just sorted out which is that it started to idle low and as a result kept cutting out. I will also be upgrading the spark plug to an iridium plug. Looking forward to the next vid....
Fantastic and honest video. I have one question. Is this hand guard original? I would like to put the mirrors like yours, but they say I have to change the hand guard because it doesn't fit. Any suggestions?
Thank you bud really appreciate it ! Yes they are mate and are stick hand guards ! all I did was get longer bolts than what came with and then put a big spacer on the end of the bars and bolted all in together maybe able to see this in the video now I’ve said it
Thank you bud really appreciate it ! Yes they are mate and are stick hand guards ! all I did was get longer bolts than what came with and then put a big spacer on the end of the bars and bolted all in together maybe able to see this in the video now I’ve said it
How did you get rid of the floating mudguard on the rear wheel? But its a great 125 for the amount of luxury features u get. You probably were just 1 of the unlucky ones from zontes. I would just cover the sparkplug with a plastic bag when washing.
Just unbolted it mate I’ve not got a number plate on the bike at all anymore re located the indicators and got rid of the plate have it on my ruck sack now (video of this dropping soon ) and yeah but I’ve had comments saying they’ve had a few small problems Aswell get it with all bikes and it must have been a fault ht lead and since I put new one on and coil pack had no problems!
@@ThrottleThrasher See I think the indicators on the wheel is kinda a safety hazard from anyone behind because they would need to see your indicators. Thats why Im doing the same but i'll still have the plate on.
Hello! just bought this bike... thinkin the number plate mount a little ugly so Iam seriously considering changing it.... New to bikes too so.... could you recommend any mount? also what should i look out for? How can I figure out which mount will fit my bike?
Check out my other videos on the bike mate ! Just a cheap eBay one fit a universal one like I say i just did a tail tidy video so that will show you the mounting point for it ! I’ve got ride of my number plate and the bracket now as looks way cleaner got the number plate on my bag 😂
Had mine for 10 months and done over 7500miles, only problem I have is it hates the rain and when I accelerate it’s sputters and chokes so have to ride so slowly and I’m lucky if I’d doesn’t just cut out, dealer blamed timing and had it for three weeks.
Really mines fine with the rain and pressure washer was a fault coil pack at ht lead since I replaced this been all fine bikes on 11500 now my girlfriend has the bike now ! And yeah I just sprayed loads of wd40 in the fuel cap and that sorted it for ages but doing it again now
Seriously these Zontes looks way more technological than some Japan bikes.Japan bikes are having tough competitions especially 125cc category.I already bought U125 Zontes,I love it.
Yeah they are amazing bike just a heads up tho they don’t like water had multiple messages and phone calls with people trying to help them fix there as if there sat out over the winter the main fuse board starts to rust so bike suddenly just doesn’t start one day . If you ever experience anything like this let me know and will have a video coming soon on this
@@EndritAl to stop it from happening in the first place put acf50 on the fuse board or buy water proof Greece and take all the fuse out dip them in that and pop them back in . Know of 5 people now that are off the road due to this including myself bikes been off the road for a month . Is all running and working but waiting for the weather to dry up abit . Ride safe mate and enjoy the bike .
@@Jorge.-..-.-.--..-.-.- read some of the other comments talk about more issues in them and also comments on the other Zontes videos . They don’t really like water so would need to be garaged or under a cover at night
Have somebody P0030 fault code problem? I checked everything, heater resistance is fine, circuit from ecu to sensor is fine, voltage from sensor is fine but then I delete fault codes and check engine is back after 1-5km of ride. Help guys!
Thank you very much appreciate it let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see and will do my best always looking for ideas ! Will have a full service video coming soon !
Never pressure wash a road bike that's just stupid even pressure washing a MX bike you don't force the water raound the eng8ne or electricals. Sidestand switch is a common issue especially in winter 2 allen bolts to get off, clean it and lube with engine oil all sorted.
Don’t let it run out !! Just always keep a spare on you as they run out every month tbh need a lithium 1225 from Halfords just say key fob battery 1225 and they will help you out ! Assume there is an override somewhere but not risked it to find out
Yeah I’d 110% recommend mate but read comments on some of my other videos on the bike as some people have had other and worse problems but then again others have said that I was just unlucky the bikes in 12000 miles already and is still going strong
@@garyweir2294 tbh mate I’ve had 42 125s now in 5 years I think it’s more if you have a problem bike you have a problem bike and it doesn’t end ! My girlfriend had my Zontes now I’m on a lexmoto Mitchan ! Out of all the bikes I’ve had if recommend this Zontes my Yamaha yzfr and my Yamaha wr 125 all were really good solid bikes
@@steve00alt70 sold it for £2200 to my girlfriend as she’s know it had been well maintained had 10200 miles when she got it was going to be £2500 but she needed a new set of tyres front, sprocket , rear break pads and the worst is it need the swing arm bush and bearing replaced as wobbles now that’s gone
Is it fair enough mate yeah I’m not sure that wasn’t a thing when I had the bike as was not long released unfortunately most of my electrics failed when winter came so sold the bike . Lost abs my clocks my seat release all sorts as main fuse board rusts really bad and quickly
Could you help me bro?I dont know whats going on but my zontes 125 wont start.I mean it gives like 5 loud beeps flashing the indicators controls simultaneously and thats it. Help please
You got Instagram if so follow me on there and will send you my number talk you through it a few people are having the same problem with these bike atm as have come to learn then don’t like water and the fuse board corrodes mines been off the road for a month is running now but not coming out until the weather get better
@Throttle Thrasher Bro I just sprayed acf50 all over the motafoka including the fuse box and it worked like a charm,my hornet is ready to bite some ass.fuck me im so happy
Kept an eye on videos dropping on it tho as got problems with it atm they don’t get along with the rain and water electrics are taking a beating with be dropping a video on this soon
@@EndritAl no idea mate wouldn’t risk it as would probably blow up from over revving I’d assume if you was to do it you’d want an in restricted cdi unit but you’d not find one for these to new !
Yeah I know that bud but loads of farms around where I live so bikes covered in shit all the time not gonna sit there washing that off my hand 3 times a week 😂
@@ThrottleThrasher Hello thank you for your reply I believe you can buy a wax that you spray over the loom and all other parts of the bike which protects it from all the elements and it’s easier to wash off
@@michaelbarrie1748 oh ideal I have heard of something similar just like a waterproof silicone you put in all the connectors and plugs and everything definitely worth getting I think !
If you stopped jet washing your bike like its a car you wouldn have these problems Buy a detailer spray and use a microfibre cloth and keep it clean as often as you want your girlfriend to wash herself before riding her. Throw the Karcher away and spend some time with cleaning it Dont soak an engine with water and conplain on corrosion underneath, on ur stand, corroding your plug lead Water is your issue Not the bike My bike has never seen a hose. Only a bit of rain.
My sons bike has always had the pressure washer and has had no issues. But then again he uses a leaf blower after to dry everything off and then some gt85
