you guys ignoring the fact that Zoro didn't just take Luffy's pain, he had his pain already plus Luffy's, it's the same way if you gave the unconscious Luffy all of Zoro's pain at that moment, that's why this moment is not only about Luffy but it's about how Zoro survived both his pain and Luffy's at the same time then had the guts to say nothing happened while he's still standing and crossing his arm

Sanji wasn't trying to outdo Zoro in this moment, it wasn't about looking cool. Sanji genuinely believes that if anyone has to die, it should be him, because his self esteem is rock bottom but his loyalty is rock solid. Self-sacrifice is a recurring theme with Sanji and you'll understand it much, much later in the series.

you have to realize the pain zoro took was on a whole different level then the pain luffy took for two reasons 1.Zoro already had his own injuries when he took luffys injuries 2.Luffy is made out of rubber so he doesnt really feel that pain or get affected by that

I like how they evolved Zoro's character. When we first met Zoro he told Luffy not to get in the way of his dreams. Now he willingly gives up his dream and promise for Luffy. He was always loyal but he seems to have changed his priorities.

Luffy was out cold with the amount of pain he was in. Zoro had to take all of Luffy’s pain on top of his own, and he was still standing. Respect to Zoro.

Using Rob's logic, Zoro is then stronger than Luffy, cuz he already fought Ryuma then the zombies and then Oars and then Kuma and after all of that he took all of Luffy's dammage that has been building up through out the arc and was still standing when luffy was knocked down. Not gonna lie when Zoro got a taste of the pain Kuma sent towards him it was like I was feeling that pain too lol. Zoro the goat, he's the embodiment of loyalty and willpower. This is definitely one of the greatest scenes in One piece. I didn't know whether to cry or be hype. What made the scene that much more legendary is ost 'Luffy's fierce attack' one of my favorites. It's often confused with 'The very very very strongest' plus the thumbnail of it on RU-vid is with Zoro in this scene.

Zoro was on his way to the afterlife but got lost and came back alive

The fact that Zoro and Sanji were able to put their dream's aside so Luffy could accomplish his is crazy.

Lmao this episode officially shows how much of a clown Rob is. Everyone else can clearly see how Zoro shines in this episode but he has to continue the fake persona of hating for “content”. Luffy is my favorite character but he isn’t Jesus. Everyone of the straw hats proved that they are willing to give up themselves to protect others before they even met Luffy, how is he giving credit to Luffy for their own characters. Zoro was caught defending that girl in the village, Nani was sacrificing herself for her village, Ussop tried to save his village, Sanji still gives food to those who attack him and so on. All before they met Luffy. Rob is gonna ruin these reactions for me.

From here onwards is when i started enjoying one piece more than Naruto and Bleach. Sabaody arc is when things go to another level and more of the story unfolds. Bruh theres so many elite arcs and characters ahead no bs 😂

Luffy and Zoro are my favorite characters and I can't really put one over the other. Both of them have a lot of amazing moments in the series and ones achievement never diminishes the other's, in fact it elevates it. But let me just put this out there. Zoro, someone who has no devil fruit and whose body is already beyond its limit took Luffy's pain and stress on top of his. Not only that, Luffy who I may add is made of rubber and is more durable than most characters, passed out from his accumulated pain. The same pain Zoro took (on top of his) standing up.

Luffy is made of rubber, which means he can take a hell of a lot more damage than an average human being. On top of all of the damage that Zoro had already taken from the fight with Ryuma, Moria, and Kuma, he took on all of Luffy’s pain on top of that and actually managed to live. I get what Rob is saying, but no other Straw Hat is living through that. Put some respect on Zoro.

it’s crazy, when I saw this episode more then 10 years ago, I didn’t know if I should cry or get hyped. One piece became special for me after this episode. Friendship on another level … be real with the real ones in your life !

it is fine to troll (if your'e being silly or just having fun)... its fine too, to actually hate (i mean i don't care it's your own feelings, i can do nothing about it) ... the main problem here with ROB is he tries to justify it by saying luffy always takes beatings or when he says that's what luffy has been taking the whole previous fight (firstly everyone fought and took damage.. also i know luffy took the most damage not taking anything away from him but the damage to him compared to zoro is on different level.. even if it is the same damage understand this luffy is rubber and yes he did take damage in spite of it so if luffy took damage on the level of 100 zoro's body took it on the level of 150( and m considering zoro a monster human not normal one here.. a normal human would have died example usopp or nami)so its straight disrespectful to compare him to luffy as the scene was not about that but obviously that was trolling which m fine with) and he says i give props to the whole crew(so second of all no one is taking it away from the crew ... we are just talking about the scene where zoro is determined to die for his captain in whom he believes without a doubt that he-luffy will become the pirate king with or without him and then plunges into the pain balloon - come on man give respect to the scene and a man's action and commitment ... on other hand when kuma says he has good companions he completely ignored or even missed it because he wanted to continue with his thought process that luffy took all that damage - i was kinda laughing at that one as i get it he wants to keep audience engaged and in that process misses quite a lot or sleeps sometimes ) and then when zoro says to sanji nothing happened(where he means that i dont want everyone to know ... as it is nothing to him he is a guy who gives his hundred percent in everything he believes in be it cutting his legs out of wax to save everyone or drinking booze or train each and every day more than any other human being) its nothing for him and thats why its the greatest or one of the greatest scenes ever ... and no one is forcing you to like him if you don't then don't but then clarify it's not trolling as in the end he is annoyed that he feels its unfair to force him to feel one way obviously it is and that kinda makes me feel he just wants to have a different take which is unique to him and rob isn't trolling or actually hating he just wants to be different for the sake of reaction and forcing him to take the stance everyone has makes him annoyed... you be you rob it is entertaining and funny but don't back it with meaning less argument your facial expressions were more authentic in my opinion... luffy is the best for me too but this was zoro's moment of dedication and love for his captain and that is crux of the scene....

Keep in mind that Luffy is made of rubber, so some of those impacts/damages got nerffed a little to him. But Zoro dosen’t have a rubber body, so he had to feel the full brunt of what Luffy took.

Zoro had his own pain to begin with. He protected his crew and his captain, took on his captains pain no complaints. Keep in mind, he is not rubber. Even so, Sanji found him not laying down like Luffy, BUT STANDING UP WITH HIS ARMS CROSSED and said “nothing happened”. Cmon rob

Luffy does take all that pain to protect his nakama in all fights, respect for that. But also remember that his whole body is rubber and is made for absorbing damage and shock to levels that are beyond just his human strength. Zoro took all of that with his normal body while being on the verge of death and made it through. Zoro was supposed to die, but he made it through. This is all to magnify Zoro’s character: someone who would rather die over accepting defeat while attaining his dream. His ambition is what got him through this trial by Kuma. In Zoro’s eyes, if he cannot defend his captain or crew on their journey to find the One Piece, he cannot be the greatest swordsman. These standards are what Zoro holds himself and his captain to. Luffy will be King of the pirates, and Zoro will be the Greatest swordsman in the world. Not to say Zoro doesn’t have feelings for his crew, he definitely developed a lot in his relationships with each of them. His goal is just above those things. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
