Really enjoyed your post-install comments. Sounds super smooth! You clearly maintain your ZRX properly! I need to look into eliminating the decel pop on my GSX650F. The previous owner installed a Yoshimura slip on, and I hate the popping.
I have 2002 zrx with 24000 miles, I also added ELS ignition advancer, went up 1 tooth in front and down 2 in the rear which made some positive but minor improvements, the IVAN's jet kit with modified air box fells like a supercharger, before had to really work to get the front wheel up now I can pull it it up from 5mph to 55mph with ease, pipe is next for me but the jet kit hands best money spent,,,PERIOD!!!!
Nice bike bud😎👍 wish I would’ve went with the megaphone. basically just did about the same thing to my 99 ZRX. after having the carburetors off a several times over the years I decided to chuck the air box. yes it takes a little fiddling to get the carburetors happy with K&N pod Air filters. but what a difference! simply put more air more fuel more power. then add the K&N air filter fine mesh outer filter covers which keeps most dirt and water out of the air filters they’ve been pretty good so far. The only thing I miss about the air box is being able to Douche the bike with water with no worries of the filters getting wet. instead I grab a plastic garbage bag and cover them up which is No big deal now being that there’s so much more room with the airbox gone. And probably not even needed as long as I don’t spray Water directly at the filters. even after owning several other bikes The ZRX is still one of my favorites!
The pollution system does not induce air into the combustion chamber. It pulses air into the exhaust ports to burn up excess hydrocarbons after combustion.
She found amazing! I have the K&N filters with a Dynojet stage 3, the Yoshimura RS3 and block offs and wish the previous owner had not removed the air box. He had it running extremely poorly and it took a bit of tuning to get to start up smoothly. It still takes a bit more choke than any bike I've ever had and the idle changes to over 2000 after a while on hot days. It's my daily ride to work so I haven't been able to get into it as much as I'd like. I will say, it's a beauty of o bike though! out of curiosity what kind of mileage are you getting on a tank of gas, I'm averaging about 135-140 commuting.
Oh man i want a ZRX so bad.. I'm just sitting here drooling. It'll probably be for the best to wait a bit though. I'd probably kill myself sooner rather than later being a new rider and all. Anyway, nice video man!
GharmanNL You can still find nice ones for between 3 and 4 thousand. Try to find one that's been not been messed with too much. Many of them have been treated like red headed step children and ridden very hard. They are very durable and can run well into six digits in miles if taken care of.
