ZZ Top (pronounced /ˌziːˌziː ˈtɒp/) is an American blues rock band, formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. Comprising Billy Gibbons (lead vocals, guitar and harmonica), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, and keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums and percussion). The trio's original lineup has been intact for over 40 years.

What’s everyone think. Going from a concert to a plane then home. Then up to go to physical therapy. A man his age. Sounds like a blood clot to me. We know it’s not drugs. Aneurism or massive heart attack the way his wife described it. Him just keeling over. Hope it was painless and we know his place in Rock and Roll heaven is reserved. Couldn’t ask for a classier rock star. Him Billie and Frank are #1 in my book.

Love the pics! NASTY, FUNKY TUNE....lol..one of my faves off "Fandango"! I saw 'em three times in the 70's, & THIS is how I remember them. Gave Billy G.a joint on stage in Memphis (rolled with strawberry reefer rollers) & he stopped playing & thanked me for the "pink marlboro" (I pulled it out of a marlboro pack that was full of the "pink" ones.(LOL) He put it in the inside pocket of his jacket (Fandango Tour 75) & that made this 16 yr. old's YEAR! My hero then...& now, will NEVER forget that!!

back in the 70's i was in a 3 pc band playin bass doing a lot of top. it took me a while to get that opening riff down but when we played this tune the crowd went wild...you cant rate bands, they all are good..its only your opinions and preferences that separates them all..IMHO ZZ TOP is one of the best blues rock bands that ever came along.

Yeah nothing more thick and grittier! @Lorelei Perry talk about the old pics. I saw Billy in my city Texas City, Texas - The Moving Sidewalks circa '69. My song "Talking' 'Bout Billy" copyright 2003---> I heard that sound back in '69 I remember it now it was do fine He was shredding it up in my hometown Before his bass and his shave sat down. … … … It wasn't any sight that you've ever seen They had long sideburns n faded bluejeans.. The Moving Sidewalks were playing psychedelic surf music. Talk about evolving! Billy has this uncanny natural ability to morph into what works. He makes things happen. He's working now "Billy Gibbons and The BFG's- a cubano sound! They still use the same mic stands that they used in the 80's! We owe their "moves"to Paula Abdul! She was their choreographer. I know I jumped all over the place, but Great band. Great sound. Proud to say they are from Texas.

People forget how bad these guys were back in the day. When they put out Eliminator and went to that synthesizer sound they lost there "edge". Deguello was the last good album they released. Listening to this reminds how great they once were. One of the great bands ever in their prime. So RAW!!!

Gibbons is, to me, the best guitarist of all time. Others, primarily Mick Taylor and Lindsay Buckingham, come close with their respective skills. But Billy G can, and still does, rock out like there's no tomorrow. Blues, no-frills rock and basic riffing is what he does best.
