@@Manufak They have had that same loop in the live show on this song ever since they released it, along with Billys vocal using an Eventide doubler and auto-tune as the effect. still killed it on the lead GTR and bass / drums as always.
Dusty HIll used to live really close by to my house. After work at the bookstore, I'd go to the Burlap Barrel Pub which had maybe 4 tables, a crappy pool table and a small bar...and he'd always be in there sipping his beer talking to the bartender who was his girlfriend. There was never more than 10 people in the place ,,,,usually less. We'd shoot pool once in a while and I'd ask him about the different countries he played in. The was back in 1985-6 and i was 21 years old. . I remember the license on his el dorado cadi said something like ZZ -1 , or maybe just ZZ -2. No one really paid much attention to him or he to others. A glass of beer was $1:00
Awesome performance!! It reminds of my school days in 1980s ! I was a big fan of ZZ Top, Van Halen, Helloween (German band) and Ramones from US..Cheers from Korea!!
I was lucky enough to know Billy in Houston long before ZZ Top was formed. He's a gentlemen and a scholar. He also found a Les Paul for me back in 1971 and I bought it from Billy's buddy. That guitar today would be worth about $40,000, but I sold it in 1973 for what I paid for it: $300. Billy and Keith Richards will outlive us all. Keep rockin', Reverend.
Love this group, seen them many times, they ruled MTV in the 80s, I saw the Eliminator tour but when they came back later and did the Afterburner it blew my mind. It was sold out, loud as hell complete with pyro. My best friend next to me was yelling at me and I couldn't even hear him and the whole venue smelled like a big fat joint lit up!!
I took a woman to a ZZ Top concert I believe it was 1990 or 1991 I was about 19 or 20 she was 29 or 30 very sexy woman, ZZ Top had the silhouette dancers, this was in Dallas I think the Super Bowl it was a great concert! ZZ Top Texas Finest Rockers!
That's funny. A co-worker/date took me to a ZZ Top concert also in Dallas. I think 1991. (Not Super Bowl.) I worked at DFW from 90-95. I enjoyed many concerts in that time period in Texas.
Seen them live about just after Dusty passed away RIP. They played a great show, Elwood was great, I had seats front row center, Elwood just seems too fit in like he had been on the stage for years, knows the band so well from working back stage being their guitar tech for decades
Hard to knock these guys, absolutely love them. Even when playing along with backing track. Couple of iffy notes (hairy guitars didn't help) by Billy so he was playing live.
