Hi, I’m Stephen Learson and welcome to my RU-vid channel. Here you will find videos on many educational topics including Sound Design, Music Production, Songwriting, and Gear Reviews.
Aside from educational content I also make original music and videos, and this is all done from my recording studio in Boston, MA, USA. My hope is to share some tricks I’ve learned over the years and hopefully you’re also mildly entertained.
Sounds like a square wave, not a saw. Still got my Poly Mk1, my first poly synth. So worth the bread! (even though when i bought it it's $750 in today's money!). Great demos and playing!!! Great vids.
The intro music is much better than this ‘copy of a copy’ thing, a little disappointed that’s they way you went with it. The intro music was 100% better ✊
Grazie!
I don't understand the "chord memory" trick. When I press the hold button on my Juno and make a chord, it holds continuously and doesn't fade like your example... Also, your display is not showing any patch number, how is it possible you can hear a sound without a patch number in the display?...
I have one one those myself. It sounds fantastic. But sooner or later I may have to change the memory batteri. Is iit easy to do that or does it requires some special skills for that?
Truly impressive!!! So glad to have found you and this demo/song/jam. I’ve been staring the MS-1 doing the “should I or shouldn’t I” thing (again). You just sealed the deal on a purchase, looks like an incredible value at the present $200 price.
I love your take on this song! So funky and cool! I found you through your other video on this song and I am really impressed how all this came together! so sick! 🔥
I once bought an AX-73 dirt cheap at a flea market. The AX has a very bad keyboard and just a single oscillator per voice. The only way to make it sound fat is to use the unison mode. But then it becomes monophonic.
Sounds really good, espeshly those distorted drums you have in each title sequence and the beginningof the vid, they sound alot like nin, the song though musically at its foundation def nin but overall yeah bowie fo shur
Thank god for people like you, I just got me an AX73 and now you have just confirmed the future of another Bill Laswell inspired set of tunes will be created in my den
Awesome review 😎🤘🏻🎹 I’m a huge fan of korg and Yamaha synthesizers(I do love both brands) and this synth sounds really nice. I do dig the sound quality and the unique features it has.
If Im not wrong...that prodigy distortion is from some roland rack synth...seen some guy on YT here who was talking about it....forgot his name as well xD
I subscribed to your channel because of this video/tutorial. So freaking awesome and informative. I'm a musician.. Saxophone/Drums/Piano...but I have little to nun music theory and just self taught production. That's why I love videos like this I was making cool beats and sequences all week. Anyways thanks man for lessons.
I need a question, as I am only now learning about this instrument and would like to buy it. Does it have an internal speaker? Kind of like an electronic keyboard P.S. I apologize for asking
