I'm a top-producing Realtor with Real Broker, LLC based out of Charleston, South Carolina. I have 15+ years of experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry. I use the customer service skills I learned in that industry in my daily business. Buying and selling a home can seem stressful, but it's my goal to make sure we have some fun along the way while also getting the results you want and deserve. Apart from being a Realtor, I am a full-time father to 2 amazing and exhausting children, and a husband to a beautiful and supportive wife. Give me a call and let me help you find your little slice of heaven here in the LowCountry.
You know I always appreciate you pointing out the secondary home tax bill vs primary. Multi-million dollar single family homes pay maybe 3k primary. We as secondary IOP beach condo owners (living in PA), almost 9k. So there you go, proves your 3x-4x citation.
HOAs here have become cesspits of personal rights violations. Most HOA rules are not enforceable anyway. If there is a specific law at the local state or federal level the HOA cannot contradict that law. IE if the city specifically states you can have up to 10 chickens in city limits the HOA cannot counter that because it is explicitly expressed. They cannot also get you for street parking if the road is public or anything outside your property line. Most property lines end well before the curb of the road.
Im looking at purchasing a very humble home in Beaufort- 700 sq ft old war homes with minor upgrades. Im a cash buyer and sellers here are delusional. They must not watch the market reports. It’s unreal.
EV cars are an unrealistic pipe dream. There is no way in heaven hell or earth the electric power grid can handle all or even close to half the cars being electric. 10 years from now the electric power grid will still not be ready to handle a majority of electric cars on the roads. You can't build more nuclear power plants or hydro electric dams in a short period of time. Solar power can't reliably generate enough power either, because solar power only works when the sun is shining. Also power lines can only deliver so much electric power per wire, so even if you build alot more power plants over the next 10 or 20 years you will still need alot more power lines to deliver the electricity to the end user. Building that kind of infrastructure takes time. A long time.
I love mine and don’t have issues charging now. Not for everyone but with how much I drive and charging for a few dollars at homes it makes a lot of sense.
Question...I haven't heard anything from you about military families who are already or getting stationed at Charleston Air Force Base. Do you have any advice on that?
I do. Here is a video. Also feel free to reach out and we can discuss further with your specific situation. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-22TZp2-DEvo.html
I bet I have passed this home may times while visiting....This place, even though with the price tag,...has been furnished in a warm and comfortable way......3 cheers to the decorator!!!
We were at the Jail this past spring....May 2024. We were told that there were approx, 20,000 people that died there from various forms of neglect, torture, starvation and disease....The tour was very interesting , even though we only were in the basement portion of the jail and we saw and heard ...NO ghosts....
We’ve been to all the beaches you mentioned, but since we have the county pass we end up at IOP early on the weekend when the parking lot opens and it’s only 5 minutes from our house.
Bill! We have been here almost a year now and thanks for being our realtor! We are really happy. What you said about the aquarium annual pass is very true! Also, it really helps the aquarium to have those annual pass holders. It’s a way of supporting the aquarium and also having a backup activity on those rainy weekends.
Don’t sleep on the December Aquarium Gala for a fun adults night out. Music, food, silent auction, open bar. We’ve gone the past 2 years and it’s so much fun!
100% Folly! If you have a library card, you can checkout a pass for the aquarium, Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, & State Parks. It is a slow pace of life EXCEPT when it comes to driving. 😆 (Those online haters don't cross bridges 😉)
Charleston is expensive AF and the traffic is awful for such a small town. Granted, the tax bill is small but I have no idea what happens to the the tax money I do pay. Schools? nope. Roads? nope.
My wife and I are looking for a home to retire. We are attempting to narrow our search and your videos are very helpful. We will be in Charleston in a couple weeks. Will look you up.😊
I don’t know how you come up with the eight minus rating on educational schools being South Carolina is 47th and the nation as far as public schools go so all you Yankees and trash wanna move to South Carolina you better be prepared to spend the money put them in a private school cause they ain’t going nowhere with public educationeven better go to Berkely county and try that trash hole
@@TheBillOlson hmm good question. All I can really say is we are looking to move back to my hometown but have been away for almost 20 years. Charleston has changed a lot sense then so I turn to your video to help us understand what neighborhoods are popular and safe. How the different areas lean politically would be interesting and what areas will appreciate more in the coming years.
There's no hospital. If a medical emergency occurs, they have to Life Flight you out... and that's a pretty big bill. You also don't mention the lack of choices or diversity of choices in shopping - unless you enjoy dressing like a 70 year old white woman, you're out of luck. You further didn't do the 526 traffic justice... it's horrendous AND GETTING WORSE because they refuse to stop building and refuse to work on roads, bridges or other transportation options. Lastly, you didn't mention hurricanes or earthquakes, two things of which the Charleston area is prone. One earthquake and Daniel Island is screwed - you HAVE to leave by bridge, and if that bridge is out, there are no ferries. And hurricane evaluations? I'm dying to see how that goes when the next Hugo hits. Oh, and Daniel Island isn't in Charleston County, it's in Berkeley County - which is mostly lower income households and carries the stigma of such. Daniel Island is really for non-local people who can't afford Kiawah Island or other beachfront properties. It's middle class at best. Just being truthful.
Why can't you answer people with facts? I was a realtor and we're not allowed to steer people but we are permitted to provide FACTS, including if I would live there or not (the buyer can decide for themselves if they would). No law can prevent you from speaking truth. My daughter moved to Summerville and where she is is nice but I saw some sketchy areas outside of her development.
Winters are generally mild until they aren't. This past winter many houses in my daughters development in Summerville had pipes burst on their exterior mounted on-demand heating/hot water systems (Navien). For the life of me, no clue why ANYONE would mount a system outside. I am ok with the mustard based bbq. Not the best, but far better than most any place up north.
While not West of the Ashtray; used to take the old bridges over to Mt. Pleasant and frequently get gray paint on my car. The old bridge coming back into town was always a fright for a lot of drivers.
As a local 😉 we love our Goose Creek community. My commute to work is 20 minutes and we have 5 grocery stores within 10 minutes. We can be on IOP in 40 minutes and downtown in 30. Nice to see our town in the top 5.
My teenage son asked to stay at a haunted hotel, so tomorrow night, we’ll be staying at Embassy Suites. I’ve requested room M113, because it’s supposed to be where the “half head” soldier is most regularly seen. They can’t guarantee the room, but they are going to try to get us in it. After we get checked in, we are scheduled to go on a ghost tour tomorrow evening, and after we check out on Friday, we’re eating lunch at Poogan’s Porch (also haunted) before we head home.
@@TheBillOlsonsure! This’s actually a super late Christmas gift (his “big present”). We’ve been trying to go ever since December, but kept having to cancel. Embassy Suites is very accommodating. I booked a king suite with a park view, but M113 is a regular interior room (no window) with 2 double beds, so it’s a “lower tier” room. I told her that I didn’t care that I paid more and would still prefer to stay in M113, if possible. She said if no one is in it when we get there, that it’s ours. I didn’t have to explain WHY I requested it. She’s well versed in that room’s history & told me “people do request it from time to time”. One article stated that the hotel prefers to not book that room unless they have no vacancies.🤷🏻♀️
@@TheBillOlson Well, room M113 didn’t disappoint. We didn’t SEE anything, but had 2 strange occurrences. 1st) We forgot to take the luggage rack back down until we got back to the hotel late. My son & his best friend walked took it out the room while I was washing my hands at the kitchenette sink with my back to the bathroom door. I commented to myself, “Fine! Just leave me then.” and the bathroom door slammed shut behind me. I laughed & said “sorry”, because I thought one of them went to into the bathroom while I wasn’t paying attention & I had JUST complained about them leaving me behind…. Imagine my confusion when I stepped out to see both of them waiting for me by the elevator! 2) My son wanted to be by himself in the room to see if he could experience something (since it typically happens alone), so his best friend & I went to the balcony overlooking the pool. Before we even got here, my son is running after us screaming. He was walking around the room & went to shut the bathroom door, but heard (& felt the vibration) of 2 loud distinct knocks on the door. He was recording on his phone & it really was strange. We’ve tried to recreate both events to see if they a logical cause for it, but we haven’t figured it out. 🤷🏻♀️
I left Charleston after 35 years, it just got to big. I was tired of the traffic, noise, mean people etc. Moved to the other side of Ridgeville in the country and love life now. So peaceful.
Also, something to note, some areas of North Charleston fall within Dorchester District 2 - so that's something to consider. Though the homes generally in that area, I *think* are higher than the average N. Charleston home. ;) On the flipside, some schools on the Summerville/Ladson line fall within Charleston County school district.
