Thanks for this thorough flip-through! I am planning to get level 10 once it's updated this summer, and i was curious about some of the updates in the 2nd edition. I like the layout changes! Hopefully level 10 will be similar.

Are those small reader books given the workbook? I just received the cds and workbooks from the friends. Readers are missing so I was wondering if they are difficult or not

I just stumbled across your review and found it extremely helpful. We are transitioning to Foundations D after our Christmas break. I'm both very excited and a little intimidated by it. I'm sure we will get into our rhythm over time. You had mentioned you were not going to continue on to Essentials and would be discussing what you use in a follow up video. I would love to hear what led you to that decision and what you followed up with after Foundations D.

Could you teach the uppercase, lowercase, and sound lessons for a letter each week...or is this something you have to go in order from lesson 1 to the end?
I just received our BF order and we are so excited starting it this fall. I came across a question though. The teachers guide has many great discussion questions. They are mostly open questions for discussion, yet the teachers guide does not provide a guideline for them How do you know if your child and you are on a right track? Thank you.
This is mostly parent Kit. The readers and the blend book come with the child kit. Personally I think the curriculum plans are a must. The basic phonics flash cards, which I’m not sure if I showed here, are very useful too, and we used them SO much. The others you can get away with not using but they really do add to the program and serve as a nice change of pace for memory work and keeping earlier learned concepts fresh, plus they are used until 2nd and some in 3rd grade. Hope that helps give a lil insight.
Thanks for this! Do you keep the teacher manual out when doing a lesson? Or do you try to look at it ahead and then not have it open...as far as distracting the child? Or are they fine if you’re referring to it during the lesson?
