None of the staff said anything to you about filming? When I last visited in 2017, the staff scolded me for filming the same way you were. He came stomping over from across the restaurant demanding that I delete the 10 second? clip and even stood over me to make sure I deleted it... I literally just recorded a brief pano with a tiny gpro. I'm used to the hurried attitude, but that was the worst experience and downright nasty of that server to embarrass me for doing what you are doing.
great food bad service with attitude reminds me of Durgin Park in Boston which sadly closed down a few years ago. Same thing there'd be a line and they'd move ya thru pretty quick
They are not rude, they are just too busy an just wants everybody to move along, even if 1 customer find them rude they still have 10 More customers lining up
😂😂😂This place is famous for their terrible service. Customers go there expecting the rough but fast and cheap food. I grew up near the place and every time friends come to visit, I give them full disclosure of the food and the service before I bring them there. Without exception, all were blown away by the speed, the value and the experience of the place.
I like how the waitress was impressed with him trying to order in Cantonese. I don't think it's rudeness per se, in that the staff are not being that way to insult you. They are super busy and have no time to stop, chat or faff around so they present that abruptness to keep the whole operation running smoothly. To the best of my experiences, people from Hong Kong are generally very welcoming and friendly.
Bread looks odd, spongy pale looking very different, the soup looks very unappealing. I doubt it is home made broth looks like a flavoring sachet noodel and processed ham . Very hetic but lovely hospitality, and efficient..they have a full on day so id be kind there just trying to do there job. 😊🇦🇺👍 yep nothing Australian lol 😂😂
I enjoyed my Hong Kong style breakfast. It was a quick service but they knew what to do with foreigners. Even we had a chat with the owner of the restaurant. Want to visit HK again ❤
Hey, don't jus judge people in busy cafe doing business. You vlog acts like you know them but you dont, no big reaction of finger pointing for ...while act tourist, finish eating and get out there.
I would love to work in such a place where I can be curt and to the point. Im tired if being polite and superficially nice at my workplace. American work culture sucks.
I remember those huge fish balls during my childhood, but didn't had it with the curry. Thank you for introducing those translation device, but I need it that can help me to speak the foreign language itself. When I'm in an Asian country that is not own, I found it shy to speak English because I'm not westerner. Ha Chu Beng would be a common treat for Mexican since their foods consisted of Pita Wrap, but don't know how they came up with the name called husband roll. I always like combination of Pork and Shrimp. Sai Yung is also one of sweet baked dishes in Dim Sum. I was hoping he would at least buy some fruits in that one street aisle of market. Living spaces in HK is not spacious including hotel. Lantau Island is not crowded and too occupied so even my relatives living there have decent space in their household. Since I saw the Zhu Hai and Macau bridges, then I guess the Ferry may probably go thru Tai O Villages?? It's a luxurious steak dinner and decent breakfast for Sam back in the hotel. My favorite as a child and now using the shrimp paste is mostly on steam pork bellies. I also like it with squids in one of dim sum dishes. As for vegetable, I preferred more on Yam Leaves than Kan Kung aka Morning Glory. XO Sauce is common on Radish Cake like she said and Rice Noodles Rolls. Glad he bought some dried shrimp and squid or cuttle fish. I would get at least a piece of dried salt fish as well. And what a better way to end with another sweet treat and milk tea.
If you follow their rules. They are one of the most friendly staff I ever met in a busy restaurants. If you are there to take iG video and waste time. You will definitely get kicked
We have a lot of old style hong kong style restaurants here in Sydney. So I feel there is a connection. Sadly many of them are no longer around. There is one I go to in my area that does the Hong Kong breakfast. My fave is the scrambled egg and corn beef with milk tea and a sweet cake. Hong Kong yum cha is really good here too.
The Bamboo Sea is a scenic postcard of China. It is very shocking. The air is very comfortable, and you can also taste bamboo delicacies and ancient buildings. I have been to the Bamboo Sea, and the landforms and scenery are indeed very unique. It is the Chinese version of the Grand Canyon, but it is full of bamboo forests and rivers, caves and aerial cable cars,Hollywood movie shooting base... I suggest you go on-site to travel and explore instead of reading the critical comments of Taiwanese people online. The Bamboo Sea scenery is unique to China and is a unique scenery of China, while the bamboo forest is not. Sichuan culture is very Thick and so is its food. This is why it has fascinated Hollywood and Disney many times Disney’s new animated films, Come With My Youth(Turning Red) and The Elemental, both have a lot of Sichuan elements The MEI MEI that accompanies my youth(Turning Red), MEI MEI is the red panda of Sichuan Elemental The fire element girl inside is Sichuan pepper culture SICHUAN style Disney animation MULAN Mulan Show in Disneyland Paris 2001 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vOhWUXqykOs.html Mulan 2 - Groupe CGC 2017 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uBpdDs_2jI8.html 1998 Mulan Parade 90S music ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-llhxjdCjfK0.html Mulan 2 BGM music ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g-aTLNL9Coc.html Mulan 2 ICE SHOW 2010 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Qf90d1vaig.html Mulan 2 ICE SHOW 2011ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ul4zHfxN_I4.html Mulan II Lesson Number One Tai Chi Dance Tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y0tk-QT0sbw.html Mulan Parade at Disneyland 1998 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q-mGGyyQWSU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZUI8Ts9i5ZA.html Shanghai Disney ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JSWJEL0Ms7s.html 100% worth the experience! Thanks for your great videos. So appreciate your highlighting of what hk is rather than “influencers” showing trendy coffee shops and expensive bric a brac showrooms! The strange thing is that all the foods you say are disappearing in your previous videos are making a comeback as brand new foods for the younger generation. I grew up eating the Chinese doughnuts and it’s instagrammable now as a new dessert snack!
I love the justification of everyone in the comments. They are so used to the lack of courtesy they thing the that courtesy and efficiency are contrasting elements.
Im not from hk but im Asian Chinese background and as Asians with Chinese roots were very efficient pragmatic and matter of fact. Just get to the point. Never understood small talk and all the how are you's when i came to Australia. Nobody wants to know
I'm a Hongkonger. Such restuarants or cafe teach and remind Hong Kong people to be humble, grateful and fast. These attirudes keep Hong Kong community law-abiding, vibrant and bussinesslike.
Absolutely loved your Tai O vlog. So good to wander around with you and see the sights. I was there in June 2023 and really loved it then, and we went on one of the boats that you went on which took us out into the open water and up to the Macau bridge. It was amazing. So good to see it all again through your eyes.
