Hey Zero! Just out of curiosity, I was always wondering why you chose the female engineer model. I mean, I have played as a female in RPGs several times in the past myself, but normally it is because they have cute butts. I want to know your reasoning.
Could that mystery block be a fusion power plant? We only really see one side so it could go further to the left of the video. If we are getting better versions of some of the blocks then they will either need more power to balance or we will not have to spam batteries or reactors. Which means we can have more internal space for decorating.
Remove it and move the planets closer together and make them smaller. They do this in multiplayer anyway as it's impossible to find anything or anyone so it would make sense just to bring that to the base game.
Nuclear hot take, we don’t need better gyroscopes, we need off-axis thrust with automatic control that translates pitch roll and yaw into commands for offcenter thrusters
It'd be nice if they could make the normal light and heavy armors not be about as durable as wet toilet paper. Like, my rovers shouldn't be collapsing into a pile of rubble because I clipped a pebble, or turning into a Michael Bay scene because a leave blew past while I was sitting still.
I certainly hope that this update comes with a new planet or even alien fauna. If it's a planet, I certainly hope for a new kind of alien planet. Maybe a bioluminescent one?
maybe its a block to make new raw materials? Something like an alloy furnace or idk molecular recombiner. Alloys are the only things i havent yet seen in SE.
I cannot wait for the what looks to be a thruster because I have some pretty big ships. And it takes a long time to get up to speed with the current thrusters. I would also love to see a new refinery.
Some years (5 or 6years) ago there was a SE live stream and Xoc asked what kinds of blocks we'd like to see and had a poll. Some players wanted to see some extra large blocks over much smaller blocks. Just a thought.
Ehh. People make extra engines, extra stuff. Devs do the same and it takes them few months to develop the models and other things. Instead of focusing on some kind of breaktrough, they focus on already existing items...
I hope for more Walkable blocks. Quite love the Barbette Cargo container mod since its quite balanced ( 9x storrage compared to small sotrages and 1/3 compared to big storages while costing around 10x the ressources) and such a beauty for ships.
highkey excited for prototech thrusters, i dont like having to download modded thrusters for my bigger ships. i just hope they're considerably more powerful than vanilla lol i suspect the new blocks might include a new power generator block, a prototech nuclear reactor or something. being more advanced tech it would be cool if this nuclear reactor used fusion instead of fission, but idk how that could be balanced (as fusion would need hydrogen, most likely) edit: don't leave comments halfway through a video, kids.
Tl:Dr: MANY blocks are underpowered in SE and could desperately use an upgraded version! It's like a game with early and mid game stuff but no end game stuff whatsoever. You've already mentioned that a couple of times in your videos, I know =) Also a reason why many of us use mods I asume. Including yours Zer0 xd

One prototec block could be a laser cannon. I imagine some sort of low damage, high power consumption hitscan gun. Something that's good at intercepting missiles and such or targeted destruction of specific block, but kinda bad when it comes to overall structural damage.

Prototech hangar door, those doors are quite small, i'd love to have a massive shit (like massive) and have a hangar that could fit the red ship or such, and it could close. That would be awesome. Also, hilarious video.😂 Edit: curse my typing... to funny to remove, though.
Funny analysis, but i think we're missing an answer to a key question. If the new blocks are just scaled up variants of existing blocks... What's the purpose of the new resources they have said is coming? Bigger blocks don't really have a need of them..
Looking at it more.. I'm starting to lean toward the "mystery" block being the in-game prototech assembler (or refinery). Looking at it, it has a lot of the hallmarks of the design concept, just reoriented a bit. It also wouldn't be the first time we had multiple control panels on a single block, so this might just be the teaser team exploiting a feature to disguise the block. The piping/tubing near that panel just looks too much like the same flat pipes we see in the concept image, and when you look at the current assembler(s), that portion directly above the panel is very similar to the visible innards of the released assemblers. But still not sold on the idea lol
only thing turned me of SE is DAMN LACK OF CONTENT.... still spawning ships wich passes you 8km away and not even facing your general direction, always sideways and passing by, even tho you foked his everything you've encountered and they "should hate you for that".... THIS AINT NO BIG UPDATE.... update wich brings fun to solo worlds WOULD BE ONE. Also whole this scaling of weaponry and armor is just power creep ive felt on my servers with directed energy weaponry mod if can recall that.
This update is adding literally exactly what you asked. Watch my previous videos, this is an exploration, encounters and PVE update. The Prototech blocks are just a reward for engaging with that.
Yeah, default gatling turret looks like a short tentacle ugly. Too bad, looks like they not going to give us suspensions instead, that would make walking mechs more possible.
