This is a small video of the series "why Russia is depressing" I am making right now, next video is going to be about cities and towns, it's going to be longer with a lot of interesting footage. Follow my twitch, i*gram, and youtube, of course! I don't have any monetization, If you have an extra dollar, you can donate using this link: www.donationalerts.com/r/kittenyulia Thank you so much, I literally appreciate every single dollar
_"... go to 7-11, buy pizza, drinks, and go to my friend's house in this amazing cozy neighborhood, and watch scary movies..."_ This like the definition of growing up in the US, maybe Europe, Canada and other countries too. Thanks for reminding us of just how good we have it here. I really hope you're able to have that some day too.
I was laughing right up to point where KittenYulia mentioned people stinking up the classrooms due to the lack of showers after physical education classes. 😐 This series series may never end as Russians seem to have more reasons to be depressed every day.
I went to school in the early 90s in Newcastle, oop north, and modern Russian schools sound almost identical, although we didn't have cockroaches. However someone did once steel some containers of maggots from Biology class, and they ended up everywhere, in bags, thrown all over the library, some we're even getting chucked on the public bus into town after school, pure chaos 😜
Yulia, I love your commentary, your story-telling, your descriptions of life in Russia. I hope you'll be able to leave soon. You're very entertaining, talented. I know you'll succeed in your escape from Russia.
I knew a Jewish man who moved to the U.S. from Russia. He had a drinking problem and was telling me how horrible Russian jails were and said U.S. jails were equivalent to cheap Russian hotels. He was actually sort of angry U.S. jails were as pleasant as they were. He felt they were not a punishment. He was upset Cleveland jails gave him clean linens, sanitary supplies and they were delivered to him
We had a sixteen year old boy piss himself in an exam. Needless to say he was not bullied or offered psychiatric treatment. I don’t know what he does now.
@@KittenYulia Scotland is a shitty country with the worst weather in Europe and extremely high real estate prices. You can prepare 250,000 euros to buy a simple average 2 bedroom apartment (what in my country France we call "apartments for the poor") there and spend the year without seeing the sun LOL. For 80,000 euros, you find the same apartment in Black Sea area, Russia and spend a life on the beach, or if you like Europe so much, you find the sme apartments on the beach in Spain, France or Italy for 100,000 euros.
@@jorllx Lived all over the world, Scotland and the highlands is absolutely stunning and the people are the friendliest, so your talking aload of rubbish. Typical from people with no experience in life.
Scotland is a beautiful country obviously JRLL hasn’t got a clue, yes the weather on the west coast gets a lot of rain but it has beautiful scenery, and unlike the French we are loved all over the world
I always thought high school students in Russia have more knowledge in math and science compared to the US, but the learning environment in Russia is less than ideal based on what you'd just told us.
Can't wait for your video on depressing Russian hospitals. One little thing about the bathrooms. We didn't have showers in our school for after PE either, but you've probably seen enough US movies to know that showers can also be a place for bullying for both boys and girls.
Polish hospitals are depresing too at least i heard that and i was 2 times in hospital 1 time for 2 weeks and other time for week and it wasnt that bad tho
Brilliant. Love this post. I really think you live in the UK and you are really a up and coming comedian. If not, as I commented In your other comedy sketch /video. I have a spare room in London you can live here rent free. Just as long as you make me laugh every day. All joking aside. Very scary and important message behind this sad message. Genius.. Putin must be illiminated soon.
Yulia, you are adorable!! Your video would have been so funny if it wasn't so said...Because it's so true!! I graduated from high school in Russia 40 (!!!) years ago. But since then, it seems nothing has changed. There is no progress whatsoever! So, Yulia, I do hope that you be able to leave Russia one day (as I did many years ago) and live in the free world! Love your videos!!! Take care!
some here. I am from Italy and a lot of these points applied to me as well. 1. when the teacher was entering we were standing up and waiting until she was sat down or ordering us to sit down. We had to do that for every teacher and especially for the dean and vide-dean 2. we had to ask the permission to go to the toilet, and it was not something automatically granted. Checked 3. during the brake teachers were potentially able to not allow us to have a real brake forcing us to stay sat on our desks 4. we were supposed to take a lot of heavy books on our backpack. Mines and other parents were afraid of scoliosis or similar issues because all those books were far too heavy for kids 5. humiliation at the board, on the desk, in front of all the class. Checked, I had that 6. physical abuse. I didn't get that fortunately, but my brother had some issue with abusive teachers and my parents had to find a new school for him at that time 7. no showers of course. We had to smell until the end of the day ~30 in the same room for hours. Checked 8. no lockers as well. So other kids were able to steal from my jacket 9. water from the toilet tap, checked. To be fair the taste wasn't so bad 10. we got the heating but only from the end of November, so we had to freeze from few weeks per year 11. my first day of the last few years in high school, vodka cola behind the parking lot. So alcohol abuse checked our toilets were much better than yours. I give you that. Still, in the overall, teachers were mainly frustrated losers in their respective subjects bulling kids around PS: black doesn't fit you, the outer outfit was better
I think you look very nice in your video. 60 years ago in the UK, when I was at school we had a teacher who used to throw a blackboard eraser at pupils who were talking. If he did that today he would be prosecuted.
First of all I love the top :-) . Secondly, your school sounds like what I would expect from Africa. Thank you for this insight, at the sametime I feel sorry for the children. You're channel is very important.
Yup, brings back memories. I can’t believe it’s still the same. You forgot to mention what most teachers look like, and what “red” subjects are taught. I could go on and on, I just don’t think most people would believe it. Fun stuff !!!
I love how u much resentment you express against your own people and that includes you family. U look beautiful but i think ur attitude says otherwise..feel bad for you young lady.pray hard it works:)
Your school sounds so like my old Irish Catholic school that was run like an army. Nuns there were like the army marms giving orders to students who must speak properly, walk properly or stand up straight. They didn't allow us to slouch in the way we sit, stand or walk. They were trying to make us proper ladies or gentlemen. That was in my past.
Yulia, you poor girl! 😢 I think you should move to Australia 🇦🇺, it is cheaper to live here, also same way of life as USA 🇺🇸.. I cannot imagine how hard it is to live in Russia 😢, take care ❤️
There're also weird rules in some Australian schools. Of course nothing like in Russia but rules like toilets locked and out of bounds during class times is batshit crazy.
You are unique. With wonderfully dry/dark humour. Full respect to you brave lady and may you be safe. After decades of denial & delusion I have finally come to see girls really do poop 💩 and I am forever in your debt 🙏🏻 Unbelievable..... Hang in there and you'll make a huge name for yourself in the West later. ❤️
Brilliantly entertaining and interesting video Yulia 😁🙌 It is quite shocking what Russian schools can be like for pupils 😮 I am from the UK and we had it pretty lucky considering schools are pretty pleasant environments with decent facilities You have a great sense of humour and way of presenting Please continue sharing your interesting videos 👏🙌🙂 An idea for future ones may be … A Q and A about you, your life, dreams, how you learned English do well etc etc Just a thought 🤔😊
wow beautiful and smart, I watched most of the video! I can relate to what you are saying, I'm from Romania and I had my education in post-soviet style
Very entertaining Julia! You're well on the way to 100k subs, keep it up! The humor is dark & dry yet tragic. Somebody help this young lady get out of Putin's dying Russia!. PS love the cat
Love your since of humor, at first, I thought you were already in the U.S. until I realized you were not, I'm wondering if it's safe to be making these kinds of videos whilst still living in Russia...
I fully support your wardrobe choices! ; ) Funny you have an American flag in the background. I have a Russian one! Thanks for the videos, I find them very entertaining and informational. As for teachers, the way I see it, there are good teachers and bad teachers, they are just people, and sometimes, people suck. I've had bad teachers too. I remember when I was 7 or 8 I had one who would claw me with her long nails on the back of the neck when she caught me talking or not paying attention. I hated her! I'll admit, I did talk a lot during class. I also had wonderful teacher I adored. Love your videos, Yulia. Take care.
I remember that I wanted to go to the restroom once and the Russian language teacher forced me to sit down for 45 minutes until the end of class which actually is dangerous for the bladder. And I studied in the Russian Embassy in Mexico. Школа при посольстве РФ в Мексике. Also there was discrimination coming from the "дипломаты" diplomat kids against us local emigrants and called us "местные". We were basically 2nd class citizens. The difference was that our classrooms had 12-15 people maximum. As for standing for the teacher and standing for them it's the same in Japan and Mexico, like respect. Don't know what city you're from but I suppose my school was not representative of a typical russian school in our "Родина." Last time I went to my city Москва it was in 2010 and at that time it seemed like we still had a chance but this year a genius just wrecked everything.
Hello ! Yulia , I'm from India. I will pray for Russia 🇷🇺 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 both nations. I hope in the future situation will become normal again. Don't worry yulia, GOD will punish dictator like political leaders who are misusing their power to against other countries. We loss lots of peoples on this Russia-Ukraine War. Yulia , you are so beautiful and a very good girl. Don't worry. Just believe yourself. India is the friend of Russia always time remember 🇷🇺. We , Indians also don't want any kind of war which is against of humanity. We learned lots of things from World War 1 & 2 , and previous wars / battles. History repeats itself. Always remember. 🇮🇳🤍🇷🇺
When I was young a lot of teachers were bad here, too. Now it is the criminal students who are the issue and teachers are not allowed to do anything to keep them in line.
I normally hate it when women use their bodies to get more views on RU-vid. But I love the way you're doing it!!! It makes me laugh so much!! But I love YOUR WAY OF DOING IT!!! Anyway, that kind of videos might help students here (North America) to appreciate more their schools in the future. Also, I don't understand all the ''I love Russian mother land'' thing'', while always trying to put down the West way of life... Anyway, keep doing your videos!
