I got one on sale for $1999.00, for my son. He started to ignore his chores, so, Daddy has a new Les Paul now, and I love it. So versatile and those '61's!! Woof. Tjey are great.
I'm a heavy metal guitar player who began to learn classical guitar. Just subscribed to your channel. You are a brilliant player. Congratulations. Do you use only this support on your leg or do you also use a foot support? I'm considering buying a leg support because foot support is uncomfortable for me. Is it possible to use only the cushion? Again congrats for your channel. If you can publish tips and suggestions for beginners it would be awesome. All the best
Hi Carlos, thank you for the kind words. Yes, I understand perfectly that foot supports aren't for everyone; they seem to aggravate my left hip joint these days if set too high. I prefer a low setting on a foot support plus the cushion. And I also use and like the EFEL support. Both types of support (foot and leg) can be found within the following playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLd3BUeBSQAN7aRIayoLVVnUyAkoI8JgOl There should be plenty of videos on my channel that should help classical guitar enthusiasts of all levels; hopefully you can test a few videos out and see what you think. The playlists on the channel should be self explanitory. Best regards, Dale Harris
As far as I know, the Behringer Ultra Chorus is basically a Boss CH-1 Chorus. Which I believe is a standard chorus (delay/pitch/vibrato set against the dry tone). Whereas the Behringer Chorus Space- D is a Tri-chorus; namely two different delay/pitch/vibrato pitches set against the dry tone. The latter should be thicker, and can almost flange and when placed in stereo achieving a huge panned effect. I've always preferred Tri-chorus over the standard one. It's basically down to taste; it's like the difference in stereo between a Boss CE-3 and the Boss DC-2. I hope that this helps? All the best, Dale Harris
@@EverythingGuitar23 thanks, yes I see. I might get one as it does sound more interesting to my ear. I also have a vintage Ibanez Flanger in 18V in my pedal board.
I would certainly try both chorus pedals and keep the one that you prefer. Also, those old mxr flangers are really lovely, I concur! All the best, Dale
hello Dale, i'm compiling a repertoire book for grade 1 students, do you think this piece fits in it? (it would be one of the later pieces in the book of course) or what grade of difficulty would you give it on a sale from 1 to 10?
I found the TCE Quintessence to be more compatable because of the mode choice section. Other pedals seem to randomly jump around at certain points when trying to match their note choice with the chord position (ie 3rd or4th). Selling the others to get another TCE Quintessence for my board.
I'm a full time acoustic soloist. Everything from Arlo Guthrie to 311. I have an A6 Denim Blue Flame and I do use a TC Electronic BodyRez pedal (which, or an equivalent, is a MUST for any transducer guitar) to give body to the transducer. It's hard to get a "working man's" tone from this instrument. If I were a jazz man or a big band guy, it would be simpler. Warm and clean or warmer and soft. But I need to go from strum to lead instantly. I have a Taylor T5 Custom, a Guild S7CE Peregrine, and have used a Crafter SA in the past as well. They are all more gig friendly right out of the box. All three of them are very forgiving. Not the A6 (The crafter SA was the best of the bunch as far as flexibility but I sold it). I need flexibility. IT's not practical to make these kind of adjustments on the fly ON the instrument. Here's my setting that works for me: First off, the OEM humbucker is WAAAAY too big and boomy for this guitar. It's the biggest design flaw in my opinion. A 20k or less HB would have been AWESOME. I buried it down in the body as deeply as I could, with the high side slightly higher. My "on guitar" settings: Humbucker: Bass all the way down, treble all the way up. Volume at about 65% Piezo: Bass at 37%, treble at 40%, mids at about 60%, and volume at max. On my mixer I have the bass at 11 and the treble at about 12:30. I turn the TC BodyRez pedal off when soloing. It reduces compression and brings back some of the mids and gives a different voice which you want. This guitar can be terrible or awesome, but the settings are crucial, and the good sounds are counter intuitive on the controls to what one would think reasonable. Those crazy Canadians. :/
another question, can i still use the drop tune if im only doing power chords and just metal riffs? it sounds ok when im doing power chords and riffs but im not sure now if its out of tune or not because this is the second video that says the drop tune on this pedal is unusable..or maybe you mean it is unusable if youre going to do full chords on it..thanks!
Hi Jeff, I can confirm that it's all out of whack and totally unusable as a drop tuner. I did a follow up video proving the tuning issue in drop mode. Thanks for watching. All the best, Dale Harris
mine is getting a little warm, is it normal for that pedal? im using a Panasonic AC adaptor input: 220-240V~ 50-60Hz 14.9W output: 9V = 850mA center negative thanks!!
How are you liking the Acs1? I have the ACS1 + the Silver Horse right now. I was thinking of buying the York IRs but I’m not sure if it’s worth it after the 2.0 update. Lmk what you think! PS: I think I’m replacing the silver horse with a Tumnus Deluxe. Or Tumnus, but tbh, it’s a small price diff from the deluxe.
The ACS1 is a brilliant solution. I've run it completely on it's own (inc stage monitors) , or ACS1 to FOH PA plus an AC30 behind me. It's excellent in either scenario. I've loaded the Celestion IRs, usually with three mics plus room mic IR type. Perfect for me. I love the fact that you can switch between Marshall, Vox and Fender Amp types so that makes the majority of songs possible to play authentically. You can't beat the 3-band EQ tumnus deluxe really. That's worth the extra. All the best, Dale Harris
@@EverythingGuitar23 I agree, so far the ACS1 has been amazing. I also just ordered three beasts, the Tumnus Deluxe, Moxie, and Boss DD-8. What do you think about the Tonex One vs the ACS1? I was gonna sell my ACS1 (bought it at a high price, hoping to sell it for that much). I could either get a Tonex One, or the ACS1 again for low prices, but the problem I had with the Tonex One was: 1. Stereo 2. having to load a computer up to change stuff constantly, and lastly, 3. it's a capturing pedal, not sure how I feel about that.
It's horses for courses: what exactly do you require ? You just have to consider the options and features in each. I personally prefer the ACS1 and know that I'm going to get support from the manufacturers. .
Hi and thanks for reaching out. It's an early recording of my live recital classical guitar playing. Oh well, given today's technology, and with Izoptope RX, I can attempt a de-reverb process I guess... Best regards, Dale Harris
I really, really like your playing of this piece, which I am studying. Your tempo is perfect for me, and your embellishments are delightful! I have listened to many renditions. Some seem to rush this song. You don't, and I think it is just great. I'll come back to your video may times for inspiration and instruction.... Thanks!
Hey Todd, well I'm still playing classical guitar every day as it's my main musical discipline but really trying to expand the scope of the channel. I've such a backlog of pieces and topics to cover that I'm going to have to find a solution soon!! Thanks for stopping by my friend. Speak soon! All the best, Dale
