Thank you for this review. I really enjoyed your style of presentation. You’re quite knowledgeable and informative without being pretentious or have off topic dead space in your delivery.
Hi Cody'! I hope you will find sometime to answer my question regarding my choice for the kef r series meta speakers. My question is with R6 set up for LCR, will it be to better to use R6 than the R7 or R3 for as L/R. ? My room dimension is W 16 ft L 20 ft and H 10ft. I also have to Rel 1580 subwofers and Monolit amp.and Marantz AV7005 in my system set up. Thank you in advance.
What is the actual advantage? U still need the disk - and it’s not like u can rent out a disk at blockbuster. To me , it seems like double work - I have the disk already - what am I missing
Plasma is still superior to OLED in many ways. The better motion clarity is an obvious example, but it's not just that. Colors on a good plasma look more natural and warmer, grey uniformity is still better, and there are no banding issues on a plasma.
Hey Cody! Just auditioned the HDI’s at a local HiFi shop. Went back and forth between a lot of different speakers and fell in love with these. All the other speakers felt like they had a blanket over them. SVS,KEF, Sonus Faber, and a few others. And I disagree with people about Klipsch. I don’t find them harsh at all. I like them. I listened to those as well, and they were my second favorite. I think I am a details, crisp, clear highs type of guy.
I suggest you stick to brands locally produced. The amount of sales and used speakers is insane. For Germany/EU I can recommend Canton, big company with high output, sales nonstop. You can get the 2500€ speakers for like 1200€ almost every few days.
Excellent video. I had and sold the Panasonic UDP9000 and I believe that magnetar is as good or better than that flagship Panasonic. The Panasonic was truly impressive in terms of Videophile capability on a flagship tv. What I’m interested in is that I’ve used a 300-400 dollar audioquest hdmi cable on a 77”C3 via the UDP9000 and it truly was a significant upgrade. It looked as if I replaced the tv it was that big of a difference by changing out the HDMI capable. Now I tried it on a Xbox Series X and I didn’t notice near the same improvement on Blu-ray playback. I’m curious if the Zidoo has the capability to reproduce an improvement with a HDMI cable of that caliber. Otherwise amazing video!
Hi Cody, I have something in mind, but it sound a bitt strange, what do you think about combination LCR 2x Arendals 1723 and center KEF R6 Meta, I am thinking that this would be perfect combination, or they will not stick very good together, because like that in movies, I would have super detiled voices and dialogue from the center channel, but also for music laid back. ( subwoofer will be used also!)
Interesting question! Honestly I wouldn’t do it because the sound signatures are so different. But….if someone were to do it, I would recommend using the KEF as left and right and Arendal as center. The main reason is because the KEFs are more for music (think stereo music) and the Arendal works best for movies (a large percentage of movies come from the center channel). Hopefully this helps, let me know what you decide. 😁
Hi Jeff!! If you like the Klipsch sound I think the JBL HDI line is a great step up. It’s a more refined horn speaker. Reviewed here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CTxnB19CrtA.html
What I am concerned with is how does this media box player device thing makes media playing better? This box sits between your media stored somewhere - on a NAS or a PC HDD library, and your smart TV. But you can already access all your media and play it without having this box inbetween. So what does it add as functionality or quality? It seems redundant.
For me I went with this (The 3000 Model) as from my HTPC I can't sent Dolby Vision/HDR Video or Atmos Audio through the system I play the files from with the video card I currently have. This gave me all the features for formats to play where I can rip backups of my 4K UHDs and play them from the NAS and get the exact same experience as getting the disc and playing it through my Panasonic DPUB820K. In fact a bit better as I have the option of playing it as a Disc, or jumping directly to the movie without having to go through the menus which I love.
Just watched apocalypto on blu ray. Bought it when i had plasma tv 18 years ago. Ps5 and my tvs upscale to almost 4k was unreal. But dune 2 4k uhd was on another level
Also it kinda looked like there was pink or color banding in the gaming video its very clear in the gaming video. I could even see it reflected on your shirt when you were watching kong. is it just youtube. because it looks terrible?
Thanks for the video, Ive had a hisense 65q8 fald tv aussie variant and despite some shortcomings and issues with banding etc..... its a quality product that apart from some bits was half the price of a samsung equivalent and has outperformed most of my other samsung home junk i bought. But for the money they want for these things id expect a little $3 piece of machined or polished aluminum on the front not chinsey plastic, another annoying thing is VIDA it is quick and snappy but in this day and age....i wish theyd just put android on, however i just avoided ever using vida by plugging a home theater pc into my q8. It does make me wonder if they are cheaping out on the case, what kind of optics are in there. cheap chinese plastic lenses are ok for a while but does laser eventually damage plastics etc?
