Nice video. The SR-71/B in the video, tail #831, was not capabable of Mach 3. This is the trainer version with a raised secondary cockpit. Note also the ventral fins for increased stability. Only 1 was built.

This model was called the 'Titanium Goose'. It was a trainer Blackbird. They decided to build this one from scraps of a wrecked A12 & SR71. This aircraft did not have the J58 Pratt & Whitneys but rather the J57s. They wanted the trainee pilot to have the ability to see forward, which obviously you couldn't do in the A12 because that was a single seat, SR71 and the YF12. Ugly and cool at the same time.
Horrible music, made it hard to watch. It depends on what your definition of dogfighter was. My ratings would have been quite different. The Zero should have been higher, the P-47 and Yak not even on the list the Hurricane not even a close match for the German fighters.
I attended an airshow at McGuire Air Force base in the 1980s. The announcer calls out that Capt. Tom Terrific is flying the F14 from Lakewood Airbase and is going to demonstrate the tight turning radius of the F14. The F14 comes lumbering in and does a fairly decent loop followed by a Thunderbird F16 who came in hot and cut the loop in half. The Eagle and Viper were always better dog fighters. The F14 was a fleet protector and a hog of a plane that was designed for a different purpose. The Viper? Pretty damn versatile and a lot cheaper.
You haven’t done enough research, there’s plenty of documentation out there regarding the 14 being an incredible rate fighter, able to turn with 16’s and 18’s because of its huge wings when extended, leading edge slats, throttle splitting and a variety of procedures that violated what the pilots were told NOT to do with the aircraft. When flown at the edge of it’s limits, it could beat anyone, and did. I have a ton of these accounts from DACT and other heads up fights saved in bookmarks and on my computer. Bit of an unfair fight here… I’m compiling a s**t ton of research for a major F-14 video project, the average person doesn’t do that so it can’t be expected.
Imagine if a b52 was armed with 67 guided nucear missers and it dropped them like this and they would fly autonamesly to their tanget under the radar. 67 citys destroyed by one bombing run and the b52 never haven to enter enemy airspace😢
Not the sexiest plane in our arsenal but one of deadliest there no escape a b52 attack unless your way under ground that guy be terrifying that circle overhead just waiting for the green light to flatten and destroy everything all those bombs at once can't imagine what it is like even if your if you away from the killing radius the angel of death
