Your dad sounds a lot like mine, always telling you won't make it or won't be good enough etc. I carried it with me for a while but as I grew more confident as an adult I was able to let it go but it can be very damaging
I think that a lot of people are getting in their own way and preventing themselves from achieving the life they always dreamed of! Inaction is the main cause of this because as a society, we have become accustomed to taking it easy and wanting to seek comfort. The only way you can achieve what you want is through action. Thank you for your comment mate!
This video really resonates with me. Intrusive, repetitive thoughts can destroy you and you know they’re just thoughts but you can’t control them. But acknowledging when they’re happening and consciously wrestling with your mind to break them is possible and eventually you can win
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video mate. I truly believe that 90% of life is just the mental aspect and once you can break through those barriers, it opens up a whole new world!
You're talking a lot of sense here. Many people say the time they feel most alive is when they are closest to death. A lot of people who are given a life-changing medical diagnosis use that as the trigger to make the changes they've always wanted to make. A good example is people who finally give up smoking when they're diagnosed with lung cancer or something. We need to cherish everyday and make the most of every minute we have
It's crazy to think that being closest to death is what triggers someone to make the change that they always wanted to. Everyday is most certainly a blessing and we need to remind ourselves of how fortunate we are to live another day!
This video is awesome. All it takes is the willpower because the only person who knows properly how to save you is yourself. And that part about not knowing how you’ll pay someone back is exactly how I felt when I said I was gonna pay my landlord back for $3k in total (spoiler: I still haven’t paid him back or even followed the payment plan). It sounds like you’re upgrading and that’s all we can try to do in this big ball of stupidity known as life: keep on upgrading.
Thank you so much for the kind words mate, it’s greatly appreciated! All we can do is keep on upgrading day by day (regardless of how minuscule the upgrade may seem in the moment) and so long as we do that, we’re moving in the right direction. Keep on upgrading as well my man!
Thank you for stopping by Nathan, glad to hear you enjoyed the video mate. I totally agree that the ability to swift off and enjoy some “me time” is one of the most simple yet beautiful pleasures!
It can be a tough thing to do because it's ingrained into us at such a young age but it's such a futile exercise! Thank you for the compliment about the t-shirt. A friend of mine gifted it to me.
Great video. This is so true but it’s also a really difficult thing to do. I consciously make an effort not to but it’s taken a long time to be actually be successful at it. I think social media makes it a lot harder as well. If anyone is struggling with this problem the first thing I’d recommend is binning social media
It’s not an overnight process as you say but with enough conscious effort, it can be learned! Social media is definitely a hindrance when trying to avoid focussing on what others are doing and I couldn’t agree more that it’s best to get rid of it ASAP!
I have sympathy with people who find it hard to trust people after being cheated on. Opening yourself up makes you vulnerable but you're right you can't let it dictate your life. Stoicism comes in helpful in these situations
Enjoyed the part where you spelt FUDGE with your GCSEs 😂 Super video though Chase, takes a lot of courage to talk about your life so openly, I can definitely relate to a lot too
I'm 32 now struggled with addictions since i was 14 ranging from weed all the way to meth at various points. What you said about getting stuff and promising you'll pay it in 2 days with no idea how that would be possible really hit home for me. The hardest part for me is knowing exactly what i need to do to live a better life but not having the willpower to do it because it means i have to completely isolate myself. Everyone in my life is tied to atleast one of my addictions, some of them are genuinely good people that have been really good to me but I know I can't truly get sober while they are in my life. So the thought of being completely alone while trying to do the hardest thing I've ever had to do is honestly terrifying.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Sean, I'm extremely humbled! I had the exact same thoughts mate but it honestly doesn't have to be that way. You don't have to isolate yourself. Much like you, I still have friends (who are genuinely good people) who (to varying degrees) get involved with all sorts of previous addictions I've had and they respect the fact that it's no longer for me. A true friend will never judge you for wanting to better yourself. If anything, they should be supportive (much like my friends are) otherwise are they really your friends? Once you start to change yourself and how you feel about yourself, you change the world around you. You will open up doors to meet new people and more opportunities will present themselves to you. The thought of change is terrifying, I can attest to that but as I said in the video, what's the alternative? Stay stuck in the same vicious cycle? You have the power to change everything mate and I believe that you can do it. Believe in yourself and you're already halfway there.
Thank you for the feedback clouds, I might have to take you up on your advice and invest in a new mic! Glad to hear you love the little clips, thank you for your continued support 🙂
I haven't had a drink since April. I used to drink 4-5 times per year, but the hangovers were so bad. I haven't sworn it off forever and yet I haven't felt compelled to drink.
Great to hear you’ve been embracing sobriety since April Stacy. Closing in on the 1 year milestone! Thank you very much for subscribing and leaving a comment 🙏🏽
Alcohol can be such a destructive substance. People who drink almost always underestimate how much they drink. Dry January has become a social media thing but it’s good you plan to continue with it because then it actually means something
Yeah I totally agree mate! Whilst it’s good to abstain for a month, it is kinda pointless to revert back to type because whatever you’ve achieved is undone instantly. Looking forward to more sober days ahead!
Congrats Chase! Abstaining from drinking, especially when it’s embedded in your weekly routine, is so much harder than people think. Looking forward to hearing about your progress 👍🏼
Only when I saw this video i realised how much time i was spending 7 hours day on phone and 7 to 8 hours on study and 40 mins on exercise. I just realised how much free time I would have if I stopped using my devices for this long.
6 hours is a crazy amount of time but I can't say I'm surprised to hear that either! Unfortunately our phones have taken over our lives to the point that people have forgotten how to actually socialise with another human being. At least you are honest with yourself about the situation. Most people only lie to themselves!
When you go off social media for a while you remember just what a waste of time it is. I'd highly recommend people disable their accounts for a while, you'd be surprised at how much you get done
I know exactly where you're coming from because it took a while for me to adjust as well! I'd advise putting your phone on the other side of the room so you're forced to get out of bed to turn it off or alternatively, you can even buy an alarm clock that has wheels and you have to chase it to turn it off!
I find motivating myself during work outs hard, sometimes it’s too easy to give up when I know I’m going to complete it. Hoping to try the 3rd person idea next time, great vid again chase
We’ve all been there mate, that voice in our mind wants us to get out of there ASAP! I’m sure the third person perspective will be of huge value and help you combat this 🙂 Thank you for your continued support mate 🙏🏽
An interesting video mate with an important message. This can be difficult and people can struggle to maintain it. It's important to remember that this is a process and the more you do it, the easier and more effective it will be
I couldn’t agree more mate! It most definitely is a process and can take some getting used to but it’s invaluable in the long run. Thank you for your continued support 🙏🏽
Thank you very much for watching and commenting on my video! 🙏🏽 sorry to hear you have trouble getting much sleep in the evenings. I’d advise to try and set a regular bedtime so you can get the necessary amount of sleep needed!
I don’t mind at all! I am half British from my dad’s side and half Filipino from my mum’s side 🙂 thank you so much for your continued support in watching and commenting on my videos 🙏🏽
Thank you very much for stopping by and leaving a comment mate! Escobar is the one on the left and Julio is the one on the right! They’re my little heroes 😂
Great video Chase, my morning routine is lacking due to my sleeping pattern, but typically I will always start the day with a coffee or an iced tea and down a glass of water.
Good video mate. Starting the day properly sets the tone for the rest of the day I’ve definitely found this. Not sure about having a cold shower though - especially in a UK winter!
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment mate! Couldn’t have put it better myself about setting the tone for the day. If you’re rushing around first thing in the morning then you’re in for a long day aren’t you 😂 I can appreciate the idea of a cold shower might not fill you with excitement but give it a try and let me know what you think!
Thank you very much for watching the video and leaving a comment mate! I did trial the 5:00am wake up for a month or so a while back but it was overrated if you ask me 😂 Glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🙏🏽
Thank you very much for the continued support, I really appreciate it mate! It’s a good thing that picking up dog 💩 isn’t mandatory for a successful morning otherwise it’d be a tough routine to sell 😂
