In spring & summer this channel takes you into the mountains & hills and onto the ridges of the Scottish Highlands. Especially in winter it shows you hiking in Northern Holland too.
Don't expect the vids of a thirtyish young mountain raider or an old sage the like of a Hamish Brown or of a Cameron McNeish ... As it happens I'm one of a non-Scottish breed that fell in love with the wild beauty of the Highlands; and who tries to spent most of his (too scarce) spare time 'over there'. Dutchmen can be keen hillwalkers & munrobaggers too!
The railway bridge over the river is awesome , down behind the hotel . And of course the actual road bridge over the river is a cool viewpoint downriver but u missed that !!
Being of Dutch heritage id love to go to Holland. Here in the US people constantly talk about the Red Light District but Holland looks like there is soooo much more there than marijuana and prostitutes. Id love to go an check this place out
Vollenhove is NOT in Holland, it is in Overijssel!! It was never in Holland, and never will be. We have our own language and culture here in the east of the Netherlands. Stop discriminating.
Wilco. The hunebeds are not "scattered" over (across) the landscape. Virtually all of them are situated in a row upon higher terrain, on the so called Hondsrug.

Lovely little island but ideal midge territory! I visited Iona and Staffa some years ago and Staffa really was an amazing experience......just as docking the boat was!! Thank God for the very skilled skipper despite his young years.
