I'm an avid scratchbuilder of RC planes, so this channel is basically to share some of my adventures and discoveries. I'm also into just about anything that flies, so I may deviate away from only planes.
I can't make a video of every plane that I build, so check out my FB page for more regular updates.
I go to school now. Here's our school club site: brownuav.weebly.com
Love it! I am doing a similar project and sending my drone about the same height, however far I can make my DJI mini 2 SE transmit from. It can't go above around 2000meters on its own so I'm going to use some foil party balloons. If you want to share advice or collab let me know
How do you avoid commercial and private aviation traffic? Do you just let it go and hope for the best? What happens to the balloon? It continues to rise until it bursts. Is it biodegradable?
Dude, that ugly music is totally unnecessary, don't need to disco dance while learning bottle rocket fuel, do you have a video using sorbitol? Which one is more efficient?
For more power/thrust, plus eliminating the chance of air pockets & normal use (so you can add a second stage and parachute deployment) = after cooking let it cool down into one big rock and grind it back down into powder. I found that this gives my Rockets between 5% to 8% more thrust!
I know I am late, however, as an amateur rocketeer, I must leave IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS: 1. DO NOT BLEND SUGAR AND KNO3 TOGETHER.There is a high likelihood of a reaction occurring, same as if you basically light the engine. Blend them separately and shake and mix them together before cooking. Better should you buy powdered ingredients. 2. IT IS RISKY TO OUTRIGHT COOK THE FUEL ON THE PAN. Again, there is a high likelihood of it reactinh as the oxidezer and fuel are mixed. It is way easier to control the heat imput by having the pan in boiling water. 3. Although not safety related, a nozzle would help. I strongly suggest you add a disclaimer for the first two suggestions as people have had accidents.
@@gerwan9132 Well theoretically yes, but that leaves you with a certain amount of heat that is quickly transfered to the mix. It is way easier to regulate heat input by just cooking it in a cup inside boiling water. It is way safer
Thoroughly cooking your fuel has a profound effect on the thrust power of your fuel! It allows the Catalyst to bind the fuel and oxidizer together better giving you a more even consistent burn throughout!
Go further inland and launch at 80,000 ft...or the max altitude the balloon can reach. Also, it would be cool to make a system that lets go of the glider the instant the balloon explodes, so it reaches the highest altitude the balloon can possibly go.
This was pretty dope. Did you need any permissions from local/state government to do this? I would imagine not everyone can send just send a glider up into the atmosphere with a huge balloon and recording cameras without permission.
Great, but you should do it again with a ultra flat-lens. Then you would discover that Nasa is just a Spielberg studio, and Earth is flat, and evolution is a hoax. We've been created.
