Eat Your Kappa is a channel that offers you a sneak peak into the not so mainstream and largely undiscovered Northeast Indian recipes and helps you discover NE tribal food culture and everything nice.
About me:
I am Nambie, and I grew up in Shillong. I moved out of Shillong to Madras for higher studies and then settled there for work. When the fascination of the new place wore off, I realized that even though I love masala dosa, biryani and the oh so awesome! filter kaapi, I longed and craved for northeastern food that I grew up eating. Here's my attempt to bring authentic Northeastern food, culture and everything nice to those of you who are in similar situation. Cheers!
It should be cooked in before eating in my opinion. Here in Northeast India we eat it with rice. Here is a recipe- -heat a little bit of oil -saute some onion, -add chilli(possibly fresh chilli instead of powder or dry) and garlic -put some potato and stir it together -add some turmeric(just not enough to overpower other ingredients) and mix it well - put salt according to taste and stir it a bit - Pour water and put the lid on to let it cook. Once ready, you can eat it with rice.
Nambi, I've been following your posts for a long time now. From rural indigenous cuisine to MasterChef, you've never ceased to amaze. So very proud of you. Wish you were my daughter (I'm 65, btw). Open invitation to visit me anytime you are in Guwahati.(Btw, i was a teach too 😊)
Did you really add the Maggi masala, Abi? It was hard to tell from that angle. I'm not sure if adding that masala would really enhance the taste of the dish.
En el patio de mi casa, tengo la planta de galangga, pero las hojas muy grande compara con hojas en el video,4 veces mas grande.Esa planta me regalaron mi amiga Thailandes.Nunca la use.Pero despues de ver informacion en video que las hojas se puede usar como infucion...voy a probarla.Muchas gracias!!!! saludo desde Argentina.
I love your channel!! You're probably the only person showcasing your food and culture in the English language. I love naga food but have to search very hard to find recipes in English.
