Lems is nothing but a drop shipper for a chinese company. My shoes weren't even shipped out of Colorado, they were shipped out of Kentucky, and made in china. I'm sure their address in boulder is nothing but some guys apartment. Do yourself a favor and buy American.
Lems 3s are made in China. Even though their website exudes this hippie/granola made in colorado vibe, they are not. As we know, nothing that comes from China is of any quality. But, if buying shoes from an authoritarian communist regime that suppresses human rights and commits genocide doesn't bother you, go for it.

I play basketball in the primal 2s and they hold up, definitely capable of more than just light walking and exercise imo :) can't wait to try out the 3s!
Excellent review. I'm wondering if you know if they have improved the stitching on the outer side at the toe bend point? I've had my Primal 2's for over a year and have both left and right split there. Seems to be only glue. I had to get a 3rd party to stitch them up.
have their boulder boot mid and had to return for a 1/2 sz up even after going up 1 sz like recommended...buying these online still has me guessing and the closest Lems seller is 70 miles away (a long way for a pair or 2 of shoes) 6 in Adidas Samba, 7.5 in BB-mid 🤔
The Primal 2’s flexible fabric and shape make it the only comfortable shoe I’ve worn in years. I’m seeing more rubber on the side which is both exciting and concerning. My pinky toe consistently wears out and pushes through the outside of the toebox of every shoe I’ve put on my feet, so at best this makes the shoe more durable but at worst it makes it unwearable. Fingers crossed. I also want to mention that this lack of flexibility prevents me from comfortably wearing any of the other Lem’s shoes I’ve tried on, chukkas, boulder boots, etcetera.
The Primal 2 is the only shoe I wear. All 365 days a year. I usually get one year of wear out of them. They actually start wearing right at the top of the big toe, i always get a hole forming around that area. The heal tread also wears unevenly. I'm interested in the 3. Again, I wear 1 pair of primal 2s everyday for one year so I'm down to try the 3 if these improvements help the small issues i have.
Not so sure about this. Thin, light, flexible and zero-drop is everything I want in minimalist shoes. Seems like the P3's are going in the opposite direction in terms of being thicker, heavier, and I assume will be less flexible. I switched from these to Xero's for running duties last year. May have to look at Xero's to replace these for daily wear duties, as well.
I agree, they are starting to look a bit bigger. However he still did the rollup test. I only wear primal 2 shoes, I mean literally everyday. So I will be able to tell of these 3s are different.
@@OriginalTodzilla Not sure if you got a pair of Primal 3s but, speaking from experience, they are a totally different shoe. Not flexible at all and they are quite heavy and clunky on the foot. That roll-up test was BS, as well. They don't bend like that at all.
So far in my life, and I'm 66, every time I find a shoe that I love, they come out in a new improved model that I don't love, and I need to find another shoe company. I sure hope this doesn't happen with the P3, because I sure love the P2. I'll buy one and see. Fingers crossed.
The outsole is literally the worst part about these. Just use normal hard wear rubber, I shouldn't have holes straight through the soles of my shoes in a month and a half
When do they drop? I have a wide flat foot . And the outside of my foot under the pinky toe joint hang off the insoles of the lone peak and scrambler lows . This model sounds like it might address my issues
been daily wearing my Primal2's for literal years and only have a bit of wear under the forefoot. I actually used to run in them (before getting Xero's for running). No holes yet. I even still have my original Stem Primal Origins ca. 2011 in my closet, although those are pretty tattered. But no holes in the soles there either.
I have had a pair of the Boulder Grips for about a month and worn of a dozen hikes of three to eight miles. I have also worn these each day for at least one of my dog city walks. Not bad in the city but for hikes, I am done with this boot. Don’t get me wrong the fit is great, I worn through standing water of a few inches and through snow. But the grip is actually the issue. If the hike trail has a section the is hilly and the ground is wet, these shoes are skates. Think of taking an old pair of Converse on a slick surface. With Altra Lone peaks on the same trail, I had a bit of slip. But with the grip. Needed trekking poles to not end up on my bum on every step down the trail and forget going up unless I wanted to walk off trail which causes trail erosion. Going to keep these for the dog walks as for those they are ideal. But I have to warn that these are not safe in areas where the ground is saturated and there can be lightly muddy (say first half inch of top soil is mud). Going to order some Summit and try as part of the reason I like these boots is the fit is great and they can be worn when going through some standing water or across a mountain spring both common in the Appalachian trails.
A wide toe box , nice non forming foam insole , tough vibriam out soul so rocks won't poke and with shank and zero drop . And the boot will last till it pays for itself and feeeel really good In 1977 bought a pair of herman surviver leather stitched out soal waterproof leather lined insulated boots .. Had , wore hunting 7 or 8 years , no leaks , gave away .. They Herman sold out to China like Clark did and became junk like Chevy and Ford Pre China shoes used to fit , and nobody had knee and hip replacements.. Hope it comes back . I'll try your boot , looks like like another tennis shoe , we will see ..
Just received mine but had to return them, sadly. They just aren’t wide enough or tall enough at the mid foot. If the were shaped like the primal Zens they might work. I was really hoping they would fit, I can never find shoes for my hobbit feet!
