Trying to compare rugby to football should be a punishable crime… football has bigger hits, better athletes, more strategy, and a much higher skill ceiling that. Rugby is American football for people who lack the talent (or brains) to play the better game
Rugby tackles are only good in some situations. In American football you have to tackle to the ground, you dont just pass or drop the ball immediately, that is why people go for the legs or try to hit them high. Tackling someone from the back or side is almost impossible to wrap their waist, you will only see rugby tackles if the person is running straight at a defender from the front. Also, you can break a rugby tackle and keep running, or keep running forward while wrapped up, you can't keep running if you are knocked into the dirt.
In American football the speed is so fast in the open field that you are FORCED to reach out with your hands to try and grab them (Especially in the open field) because the athleticism is so profound that the runner will just HOP over your hands or simply kick up to avoid your hands and keep going. Going for the legs sounds good but usually only works if its a run at the line of scrimmage. So its not embarrassing, it's common sense. Rugby and football are obviously two different animals and need to be respected as such.

Just curious , do you realize, most successful you tubers, get the majority of their subscribers from the US ? And it's normally not by knocking their favorite sport in the US. So I don't mind if you say rugby is better. It's a matter of opinion (I think both are stupid, but I accept it as it is). However, the truth is American football is brutal on the body. More so than Rugby. Americans are bigger, hit harder, and hit faster. The pads may spread damage, but it doesn't stop the g-forces you are hit by. You are starting and stopping faster which cause different types of internal injuries and concusions. American football has been compared to by scientists of being hit by 35mph (56 kph) cars. Now think of being hit like that mutliple times every game. These players aren't weak. They are fast, extremely strong, and extremely large.

Without question, this is the dumbest reaction to this video. If you truly believe: 1) that you are in any way "protected" by the hel.et and pads, you are insane. They do NOT protect you, they WEAPONIZE YOU! It makes the hits even harder. 2) That NFL Players "dont know how to tackle, c'mon bro... grow up. What you are watching is ONLY some of the most violent hits in the NFL/College. This is an infinitesimal amount of the actual games and the real tackles that occur on every play. And if you do not beleive any of this, please, come to The States... I am 100% positive that just about any High School Team in the Country would be more than happy to lend you some pads and helmet, and then... Yeah. Just make sure you have insurance.😂😂😂
You train in pads which means you get comfortable with them. You learn to run faster and hit harder. I’ve play from peewee to high school pads don’t do shit when 2 people are running full speed at each other. The forces during impact are nearly the same as a car crash, “The most severe hits were recorded at around 120G, which is approximately the amount of forced associated with a severe car crash.
