I used to take the line from Primrose Hill to Kilburn High Road back in the sixties as my school was just down the road. Modern trains are much better than the old slam door stock. Haven't been back there for over 50 years, so nice to see it is still being used 😊
2:33 May I have your attention, please. Please note to ensure a timely departure, train doors will be locked shut up to 40 seconds before departure. Thank you.
I’ve yet to find anyone who has got up early to see the abbey flyer go through Garston, bricket wood , how wood and park street. The first train of the day goes non-stop from Watford North to St Albans about 10 to 6 in the morning Monday to Friday.
Question❓ If these overground DC trains run on 750V from live rail to earthed running rails, how do Bakerloo line underground trains manage seeing as their positive rail has about 420V between it and earth and 630V between the positive rail and the negative rail. This seems like two completely different systems. How do these two different types of train run on the same track with different voltage current arrangements?
What a wonderful video and a beautiful line. This cab ride was last done in 1994 I think by RailScene and in 1989 just before the DMU's were replaced. I have both of those Dvd's. Thank you so much for doing this. I just wish West Midlands Rail or whoever is in charge would stop destroying the aesthetic charm of this gorgeous line by adding unnecessary stuff to many of the stations and platforms. It's really spoiling the look of them and making them look too commercial. Thankfully, Shenstone still has kept it's original look and feel.
I really enjoy my trips on Transport for Wales trains as they carry their passengers through idyllic country and the speed they maintain is a constant steady pace. The commentary is useful too and the young gentleman concerned has an abundance of knowledge of the local history and dates of when stations were first constructed plus other interesting facts. Very informative indeed and a pleasure to listen to his remarks.
I know this was published back in 2014, but I've actually started to enjoy the sound of the Eurostar announcement chimes. It felt a little off to hear Celia Drummond announcements in French but I think it's not so bad now.
How could the Paignton train called at Exeter st Thomas Starcross (dawlish warren a thew trains day to and from London Paddington) 1 train from Paddington to Exeter st Thomas Starcross (dawlish warren a thew trains a day)
There are also two banner repeaters on the District line, one mid-platform at Kew Gardens towards Richmond and one shortly after leaving East Putney going towards Wimbledon.
Probably the most memorable branch line originating from my childhood. It would be interesting if you could make a similar video on the Henley branch line. Great content <3
Very interesting and well done one thing you missed Bushey Station was until around 2000 I think called bushey and Oxhey, Oxhey being that area of Watford the park just after the station is Oxhey park not bushey there is a photo in the imperial war museum of the sign being painted out during WII
Sorry to disappoint you mate; but the first depot at Queen's Park is what's known as the southern depot towards Elephant & Castle, not at the north. The northern depot is towards Harrow.
