Music matters. Of course it does. Magnum began recording in 1974, but it was to be another 4 years before they released their first album. What are my music politics? Well, Kiss are the best live band on the planet, Derek W Dick is the greatest songwriter that ever lived, Dave Lee Roth is the most entertaining frontman I've ever seen live. And BOC? well, BOC are no 1 in my book! My fave UK band is Magnum, but I like good rock music such as Maiden, Leppard, Marillion, HAZE, Fish, Nightwing, Y&T, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Those Damn Crows, H.E.A.T., AC/DC etc... etc... Im a big fan or American AOR and enjoy Foreigner, Shooting Star, Sugarcreek, Survivor, Kansas, Reo Speedwaggon, TOTO, Journey, Angel, Q5, AXE, Nightranger, Legs Diamond etc... CHECK OUT MY PLAYLISTS. There is nothing better than seeing a live band, so never pass up an opportunity to see a band as you will most certainly regret it. I enjoy sci-fi, reading, watching movies and all things about nature and history.
Had privilege of seing them 3 times on this tour, one in Cardiff where I spent an hour chatting to hhe band in the bar before the gig, Jim Simpson on drums really steady, and Eddie George on keyboards, good times
Wonderful anthem... One of my top favourite songs on this magnificent album, which is probably my top favourite album from this band.... I knew them already in 2007, from a long time, I owned four albums dating back to the 80's but for some reason, I wasn't a fan... I became one !
this was the first Magnum song i ever heard, they used to play it at a local rock disco when i was still at school. Still love it to this day. RIP Tony Clarkin, thanks for all the music
This was released in 1978.. the same year as War of the Worlds and I was just thinking what a fantastic edition this song would have been if it had been included into the album.. Unfortunately it looks like its one of the most underrated Rock songs ever released.. just laid on the scrapheap of Metal ! I seriously think that this track should be a lot more heard by Rock fans, but it looks as if its fell on deaf ears judging by the few comments from people who actually appreciate good old Classic Rock ! .. Bloody shame really.
@@MAGNUM2F A few views ?? .. What the FKNG hell is wrong withe world ? Magnum is one of the BEST Rock bands in the world ! .. You should get 1000s of views a day and you would deserve it !
I was humming this song in my head and I couldn’t remember who it was at first. I for some reason thought it was UFO but then it dawned on me. Man, I had flashbacks of the 80’s hearing this song. It’s been too long of a wait to listen to it again. 🖤🤘🏼🖤😻🖤
its a wonderful ballad. These guys are probably my 2nd fave band of all time and I've seen them a few times over the years since the very early 80's. Never did see this performed live though.
First band I ever saw live at the Manchester Apollo. They were support for Krokus (where are they now!). Once Magnum finished their set the audience left for the bar and didn't return.
Does anyone know who the singer is here? On wiki it says that Bacon left right after MKC so it should be Evans singing, but the voice sounds like Bacon to me...
David Evans. Max had split from the band along with Alec Johnson right after My Kingdom Come had been released, and just as the guys were due to begin touring in support of the Album. He was probably chosen for this reason, although similar, Daves voice has its own characteristics.
@@andrejz8954 dont take my word for it. Steve bartley - drummer has his yt page. A lot of the rare and unusual songs are his. He welcomes questions because he was around from the beginning.
I have Magnum Ⅱ album CD imported from UK to Japan which I purchased by Amazon. Early Magnum is truly incredible! Though they at the age was living in NWOBHM movement, contrary to other bands in England, they had authentic British hard rock mind filled with pure and amazing melody and harmony. This is great as good as Saxon's debut album of 1979. Especially Lonsome Star is my favorite song by Magnum.
Yeah.. I just posted a fresh comment above, just to say how unappreciated this awesome song is.. I mean this is a freaking masterpiece ! .. That guitar riff is well ahead of its time .. its perfect !
Saw Blues Oyster Cult live on Barcelona .Spain .1976/77?. On a PRE. democràtic Spain (yes Spain .Europe) 🤣It was a great show and a victory for all of us. Long live rock & democracy. 👍🌹☮️
I saw Blue Oyster Cult live in Plattsburgh, NY in the 70's. Forgot how beautiful 'Last Days of May,' as I called it, was live. Lost my vinyl. Six f*ckin guitarists on stage for finale! Rush or Angel guys may have joined in.
I saw them so many times in the Minneapolis Saint Paul civic center in the seventies those were great days with some of the greatest bands to ever rock the Earth
