Cheers for the review. So sad aussie cars are gone. We need an "Elon musk" type with fuck off money to bring back manufacturing here. Never going to happen but I dream.
I'm 36 and this is my dream first car. Still working hard to can afford it. Such a master piece underrated. Funny thing i've never seen one in reality i guess that's the playing field in Africa. In my world it's worth it.

Texting from Ireland, picking mine up on Friday, same colour, black interior, fresh in from Japan with 112km. Looking forward to it, road tax per year is 1800 euro.🤮
Also when the cars low on fuel it restricts the 2nd turbo from boosting as much as it would from stock so basically when the fuel light comes on it fuel cuts to help save petrol (im guessing from experience)
That´s not a 1995 :P The Aristo Gen 2 came in 1997, and got facelifted in 2001. This is a facelift model, which can be seen on the steering wheel, the trim around the cluster and so on. They made it until 2005.
From what I gather, the Vertex models were the ones with active rear steering. Also your confusion regarding the luxury level arises because while Lexuses were marketed overseas, the same models were still toyotas in Japan. This is actually a Lexus GS 300. The LS 400 was a Toyota Celsior in Japan. What you might find even more interesting is the (Z30) Lexus SC 300 AKA Toyota Soarer, which is a grand tourer even more like the Supra. The relationship is like that of some Nissan 350/370Z's to the equivalent Skylines of the same period, usually built in the same factories. A Supra may perform better than this 'Aristo' due to having been designed as a more sporty car from the drawing board, being lighter and having a lower drag coefficient. But they're in two different classes so it's comparing apples to oranges - completely different applications. If it's all about having the same engine, might as well just buy the engine or a half cut and chuck it in the car of your choice. If I had to choose between the two you guys mention, I usually tend towards the sleepers, which happen to also be more practical in all cases apart from on a racetrack, so I'd have to go with the Aristo.
All the twin turbo´s had active rear steering. The non turbo´s did not (S300) Vertex edition is just a trim package, which could be bought for both the S300 (non turbo) and V300 (twin turbo) I have a 2001 Aristo Vertex edition 10th Anniversary :)
The mudflaps, seats, harnesses hood pins, wheels and stickers aren't stock... The bit about the risers someone else already mentioned but come on the rally computer is not factory.
They're also wrong about the hood venting. The center vent and smaller vents toward the windshield are designed to extract hot air from the engine bay. There is also a small circular scoop on the right hand side of the center vent that was placed for cooling the cam belt, though it's blocked off from the factory on the road cars. I'm pretty sure that's not a factory blow off valve either. It seems like this car is fairly modified to give it a more rally look and feel, and it sucks that they're claiming that it's fully factory.
Guys HSV has done nothing to this car lol. I have the original version. Opel Astra OPC. There's not a single difference other than Changes to the badges
