I agree, our first house, choice of seedy neighborhood, closer to work, more affordable, or further out, nicer area, more money, we chose the safer. But years later, that area got bad, so we moved way out west, nice area, but far away from most things. Now we want to move to the villages to be near people our age.
Im 72. Everywhere I have lived has give through what they used to call gentrification. Often the old, rundown, scary neighborhood gets bought up I've by one and voila ..it's a hot vintage item. They leave gangsters. when the terrain is no longer a good hiding place. You just want owners of 10 places, and those who rent from them. Otherwise why are you trying to scare people from buying an affordable house with "Venezuelan home invaders," as threat? And throwing in that somebody wants your guns!!!???? Huh? MAGA-Realtor. My, pregnant, daughter and her husband almost bought a home in a not so good neighborhood, in West Palm Beach. Thankfully her in-laws contacted us, we drove up to check out, and convinced them otherwise. Thanks to this lousy administration, they're making it impossible to buy a home.

I actually have a friend that used to live is a really bad area of Hialeah and they had to "fake" someone being home in order to keep from being robbed. Husband would leave out the front, drive to the next street over, wife sneaks out the back to meet the husband on the next street.
Basically corrupt, incompetent and dishonest Democrats are wrecking the country and primarily Democrat voters are agreeing with a now communist Democrat party. As a lifelong independent it is clear Democrats have gone off the rails. Congress has done a totally incompetent job for the last 2 to 3 generations and the decline in the country began with that dishonest bum Lyndon Johnson with his “war on poverty” legislation making everything worse with continuing bad legislation up until today. Equally important is his deception getting us into the Vietnam War where I was drafted into in 1966 as a 19 year old. Of course, who knew all this in 1966?

I can't afford a $400-$500k single family home, nor the taxes and insurance (much less the CDD and HOA)... I'm in a condo. Got dropped by my insurance in June, and I had to get a new fuse panel, some wiring, and new plumbing under the sinks before July. I still need to replace the AC, water heater, dishwasher, and patio roof in order to sell. 😢
Sounds like a BIG to do list but you can do it. Just focus on it.... I'll pray home prices drop some in time. ( that will require a market correction) Thank you for your comments.
Lisa, You Know my story !....I made that mistake about 30 years ago , Great 5 bedroom custom Home surrrounded by a rough area...and..it worked for over 20 years ! However, my area turned Fast and I mean Fast !!......I would not Advise anyone to take the Risk !..It's not worth it ,even if you have the Military or police Training.....the rules of engagement are Against you ! Lisa, Thank you for your insight. I would like to see a Florida West Coast City by City Tampa to Naples. I live in Sarasota and the condo market has pretty much gone static in the 200 to 400 K pricing. My condo community of 254 units has 12 properties on the market a first in the last 10 years. Typically one or two are on the market. Covid changed that and not for the better, we flamed out here at the end of 2023

Today, people are happy to vote for their own human enslavement, where they are controlled and micromanaged by government, wanting everything from price controls and rent controls, and everything in between provided by their wef, un, fed, and global masters. Sure, Bill Gates is buying land and trying to control the food supply, but he doesn't hold a candle to the ccp, buying up the food supply chain, building military airstrips in texas, and sending thousands of ccp operatives through the southern border.

This is total bullshit. This adds enormous friction to the process. Fees have always been negotiable and transparent at the close. I fail to understand what this dumb law solves.
