The title is to get clicks and comments. Disappointing to see that kind of clickbait, when the video is an absolutely fantastic, heartfelt, retrospective piece. The way it's talked about in the video, you can tell the watch truly does mean a lot to him. He's built stories, memories, and attachments to it. You can feel it. This man is not going to sell one of the most iconic, most sought after, timeless Rolex, that was purchased (first hand) for his 30th birthday. Aside from the title, great video. Keep them coming.
Man. I just stumbeled over your Channel and i wanted to Tell you how Amazing and well done your Videos are. Absolute high Qualität and such a nicer persona. Keep it going please, much love.
Got my first rolex last week. Rolex sd 43 and i get the hype. Have omega and breitling but rolex just different level. Wish they made a 42 or 43 mm daytona
Chris, props to you engraving these watches. That's when you know you're just in the game to have the watch and not to sell it, even now if you wanted to I don't think you can lol
Excellent video. I must say that this watch is like your most well worn yet favourite pair of spots shoes you prefer to wear to go anywhere. If you have never tried a Sub, you will not know.
Three years of kissing arse and re visiting an AD to get the watch. I can see why many pay the premium of buying on the secondary market. Fair play to you and your daughter though Sir.
@@ChristopherNegroni ho sorry,i read in the title rolex turquoise girl best friend,so i deduce you were saying its a girl watche, but of course a man can worn it,i love the green too and the pink for my daughter...unfortunatly i am in wait list for an oyster perpetual black for 8 month minimum....
@@micaljimenez7381 ohhhh you didn’t watch! 😅 no it’s just a video I made for my wife who owns the watch. But of course men also enjoy this watch. Hopefully you get that call soon! Don’t give up. Check in on them!
Rolex had better solve the ceramic Pepsi bezel insert's cracking problem. That's a pretty serious defect, and not the good kind (like patina, fading, etc.).
Hello! Thank you very much for telling me this, I am currently 15 years old and I really love watches! As soon as I saw this watch on the Internet, I really liked it and ordered it! and thank you for telling the story of the watch! Greetings from Hungary 🇭🇺
This was never on my radar a few years back, it was always the Batman since this seemed unachievable and I had “realistic” goals so never considered. I was saving for one, got a call from my AD for the TT CHNR even though it wasn’t on my list, I didn’t want to risk having a purchase history so I ended up buying it and not loving it, moved it on for a small profit. Cut to, finally was in the position to buy a Batman through the gray, thanks to recent YT channel growth and success and even bought the Starbucks. I soon realized how much I wanted the 116500ln Panda and made a trade for the Batman and Starbucks for the Panda. Owned it for about 5 months and for some idiotic reason, I traded it for, wait for it… a Batman plus cash. Not even a month has gone by and I realized I made a mistake. The Daytona proportions and the over feel were just second to none, aside from my first Rolex the Polar Explorer 5 digit… I am now in the process of trading my Batman+cash to get my damn Panda back! And yes, I agree the 126 Panda just doesn’t do it for me. Hard to improve on the 116500! Great video!
Wow! I thought I was crazy! 🤪 just kidding! It’s funny when I hear other collectors stories of buying and selling and getting the same watch back and selling it again. We’ve all been there at some point. I hope you get that panda back and this time it sticks. I know my panda hasn’t left my wrist.
@@ChristopherNegroni thanks for taking time to respond considering this is an old video. Trying to build up purchase history to buy a pepsi.. also all purchases i would have bought regardless like a ring for the wife.
I’m surprised you decided to watch a video titled “The Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi is THEE BEST MODERN Steel sports Rolex you can’t buy” even though you are tired of hearing about the Rolex Pepsi 😆
@@ChristopherNegroni Wouldn't you agree that there is too much hype about the Rolex Pepsi? Some of the videos are downright disingenuous. "Made by the hands of angels." "My life is now complete." I just watch Rolex videos that YT suggests to me. As soon as I see that they are about the Rolex Pepsi I click them off. Even videos that claim to be about another model (e.g. Batman) end up being mostly about the Rolex Pepsi.
@@jamesmoninger1982 I can’t speak for other channels but I do my best to tell my viewers how I feel about a watch at a point in time. My opinions have changed and I’ve expressed them in newer videos. It’s part of the hobby and finding out what you like. I just like to share it with others. I don’t have any ulterior motive in hyping a watch up. Sometimes a watch is just that good.
"My journey to the Pepsi??" Oh, please ... Really tired of hearing about the Pepsi, and wonder out loud why you Rolex reviewers can never talk about any other models?
Another “all you talk about is Rolex commentator” oh please, why don’t you stumble upon one of those homage pages, or reviewers who lie to everyone and say the JLC Polaris is better than a submariner 😂. Thanks for watching though 😜#rolexisking #hatersgonnahate
@@ChristopherNegroni I like your videos, and I like Rolex. My point was that a high percentage of Rolex videos focus on the "Pepsi," and I don't buy the hype.
@@jamesmoninger1982 plus I would like to add this was 6 months into ownership. I was still very much in the honey moon phase and I think many people appreciated that pov. I’ve matured since then as I’ve owned it for a while. And pretty soon I’ll have news/ updated thoughts. All part of owning watches and gaining your own insight as the owner.
Great and funny video - thank you. May I ask you, how many links do you have on 12 o clock (I see 4 links at 6) and what is your wrist size? Thanks. Cheers.
I bought one a few months ago and been wearing it every day. I’m from North Carolina. Currently traveling to Japan and Taiwan. Why does it look better on your wrist 😂? I watches this video for the first time maybe 8 months ago, and go back to watching it to get my Pepsi fix every month or so. I love seeing you travel with it and doing everything even working out and pool time with it. It allows me to also never take it off and grow memories with mine. Great content and looking forward to your next video.
I appreciate you sharing that with me. That’s what these things are made for. I’m sure the Pepsi looks great on your wrist. It’s just a great looking watch, it’s a little bit of movie magic 😉 . Keep enjoying that watch. Thanks for watching!
As a certified Submariner fanboy , glazer and a person who considers to Submariner to be divers watch perfection. It’s funny to see someone else so in love with it and glazing harder than me on it haha! Beautiful video, throughly enjoyed it!
No watch fades, patina, hands get darker etc....and show the wear and tear like A Seiko SKx or a Seiko 6309. As a matter of fact, if i go to the beach I much rather have a Seiko SKX or 6309 on, than any other watch for aforementioned reasons. You can keep the newer Sapphire crystals and bezeks that do not show wear.....they are not a tool watch, they are a piece of jewelry.
Agreed that the new steel Daytona is a let down from this classic. There is less “Panda” going on with the thinner sub-dials and bezel. Just doesn’t have the same visual impact. I like the new precious metals versions just fine, as they were already larger cases before, but I’m not buying the new Panda to replace my current one, just isn’t an upgrade:
Definitely don’t sell your panda. It’s the best one they made by far. I agree with the precious metals. The larger sub dials and case shape seemingly being the same is okay with me
Whats the size of the pillows? I have an average wrist size, my rolex day dates fit me right out of the box with out adding or taking links away, but seems like every watch case i find has really small pillows that dont support my watches.
Looking to get my first sub/sea dweller. Do I go for this or the SD4K? 😅 Already got a Batman, slate DJ 41, and pre ceramic black dial Daytona. Do I get a pop of color in the green or go traditional with the SD4K?
Love the SKX. I bought one in college for like $190 on sale. I've since bought other watches, but it's the one that I wear the most. It's really blown me away after they were discontinued how much they increased in value because they are that GOOD. Seiko made a mistake by discontinuing them.
