I just love watching your videos. Not just for the miniatures, but also for your wonderful attitude. You are so encouraging and positive. The tube needs more people like you. ❤
I don't usually get that excited about dolls, but I am amazed at how you can take the doll bits, some fabrics and trimmings, doll hair and make such beautiful dolls. Your vision and creativity is wonderful. The wedding guests have so much personality. I'm really enjoying following along on this story.
Oh Gretchen! I adore watching all of your videos but I can tell you have a particular joy in your work when you’re dressing and wigging dolls. They came to life in your hands, it’s such a gift! ❤ Can’t wait to see the bride and groom in their wedding outfits xxxx
😂😂😂😂😂super mario 😂😂😂😂😂😂i almost wet my pants laughing 😃 you truly are absolutely amazing crafter it just blows me away with what you do ❤hugs from Australia xxx
Hello Gretchen, you always do such lovely hair styles, they all look marvellous, the first lady's hair with the two buns looks very similar to my Grandmother's hair in a photo I have of her that was taken around 1910. Have a lovely rest of the week. Best Wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
I can't believe how the second man doll went from looking like a little boy to a really masculine man, just by the addition of hair and Gretchen's magic touch! Amazing ❤All of them have individual personality just like your original dolls that you sculpted. You really are a talented doll maker Gretchen, bringing characters to life like you do is way more difficult than just making carbon copy dolls. Each has a backstory and you bring life to them all...Amazing ❤
Thank you Anne! This is such a Compliment! I truly SEE each doll is an individual and try to create a character that matches what I see! I have come to really love re- fashioning Mass produced Dolls! So often their look and stare seems so blank and lifeless. But i am learning how to fix that! I truly believe DOLLS come to LIFE...... when they ARE LOVED.....
🎉great hair do can I ask why do you use alcohol in the hair hun? I brought a small porcelain doll and the hair was really hard I've brushed and brushed but it's still a bit hard . Have you any ideas how to soften the hair 🤔 xxx
Hey there Dorothy! I use the alcohol to help me "grip" the hair. It's kind of puffy, so the alcohol dampens it but doesn't make it slippery. Softening doll hair depends on what it is. You can use a tiny amount of liquid fabric softener if it's made of viscose/nylon. If it's Mohair or lamb's wool fabric soften should still work. Should work on BARBIE type hair too. I hope this helps!
I'm sure I'm not the only one that is sitting here opened mouth watching the AMAZING transformation of these dolls with such lifelike hairstyles.... I love how you talk about using techniques you use in your own styling routine.... This makes me want to introduce dolls to my dolls house!
You are very welcome! I really try to take the mystery complexity out of these tiny tasks! I really used to get frustrated by things like this! So glad this was helpful!!! I appreciate you for letting me know!
So much fun! Love the hairstyles and omgoodness..look at that face on your lil boy..such a cutie pie he is. All the dolls have such great expressions. Those porkchop sideburns got me tho😂😂❤🥰
Wow Gretchen you are so talented, you amaze me! Wire what a great idea, I have a doll that looks like she stuck her finger in an electrical outlet lol TY!
The ladies must be very pleased with their beautician! The men's short hair is so realistic. I've watched hairdresser videos about hair loss, how they attach hair with adhesive, and the men end up with short hair that looks so real. It doesn't last like that of a doll. All the dolls in their finery are gorgeous.
Oh my goodness, just pure joy to watch your beautiful talented hands obey your imagination. This makes me wish I had worked on my sliding glass doors that are going to be a stained glass pattern. Thank you so much for encouraging us to keep trying!!!❤
BRILLANT Gretchen, when I watched your other video today, I was wondering if you had rooted them & was thinking how hard it would have been, but low & behold you had the best idea ever. You never cease to amaze me with your talents. 🤗🤗
I love this video, Gretchen. ❤❤❤ You have a gift for doing doll hair. The little boy is too cute. My favorite thing to play when I was little was beauty shop.😂
Oh I just love what you have done to the dolls, you have really given them little personalities ❤🥰...Love watching all of your videos 👌♥️💐Thankyou so much !
It's so fascinating to watch you at this, you truly have a sculptor's hands and imagination! They're all looking pretty "dolled up" and ready for a fancy wedding! The women, young and old, are especially beautiful.
Wire!!! Oh Man oh man that is great!!! Gretchen you are brilliant!"And I quickly learned that's NOT a question you ask..." 🤣 I love how you show us how to problem solve too, that is so useful. And your men always look so good...AND you told me I could do it, and I did! You're the best, Gretchen!
Could you use Coban (the stretchy elastic bandage wrap they use after they take blood at the doctors] to hold the hair in place while drying? You wouldn’t need to deal with a rubber band then. I think the stuff you use to wrap their arms in is coban tape. I love watching you work and am so inspired by it.
