We have crossed back and forth from Canada to the US many times with our trailers. Never ever have had any kind of issue. Make sure your sunglasses are off, know your plate number of your vehicles, have your passports ready. Put your vehicle in park, and if your engine is in any way noisy then shut it off. Answer all their questions as briefly as possible and be completely honest with your answers. Only the driver should be speaking unless someone else in the vehicle is asked a direct question. Don't start rambling on with superfluous information. These border agents are just doing their job to protect us all, and if we treat them with the proper respect we usually get the same in return . As always, safe travels...

Border crossings are so random, I've gone from being waved thru, to having a complete search, everything out of the vehicle even the spare tire. It all depends on the person you get. I've learned to just keep calm and be nice and polite no matter the mood of the officer. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Whew!! 😅 Which crossing was it? I’m especially surprised they were so chill w/ Florida plates, because, you know, Florida! Where are the plates on the travel trailer from? Canada? 🇨🇦 In college, when my BFF & I crossed on Hwy 5 in WA state, probably the one you used for trips to Getaway RV, the border guard would not let us enter Canada unless we carried more cash. We were 19 & didn’t have credit cards yet, just Travelers Checks, if you know what those were. We had to drive back into WA to find a bank who would help us wire money from my home branch in S. California, to meet their $500 requirement. It was nearly ALL the $ I had in my account at the time! And we, like you, were just trying to get to Alaska, where my BFF grew up & was returning for the summer break. We had car trouble, from all the un-developed AL-CAN Hwy dirt taken in by our Datsun B-210, AND a totally flat tire, at two different points in our 4-day journey thru Western Canada, so it was actually fortunate that we had the extra cash on hand. We knew we’d be BFFs forever, after that series of adventures (and we’ll be meeting up in L.A., again in just 3 weeks, so something good came from all our Canadian adventures!) Glad it all went so smoothly for you two, and the AL-CAN is fully paved now! 😁❤️🇨🇦
@JustinandJess
@JustinandJess 13 часов назад
Wow, what a journey that was! That's so neat that you are still friends 🙂 I can't believe the refused your entry because of the amount of cash you were carrying!! 😲 But like you said... It ended up being a good thing I suppose. Yes, we have Florida plates on the SUV and Quebec plates on the trailer. This was the Roseville crossing in southeast BC. Thanks always for watching!! ❤️

Damn, that Delta Pro is noisy
@JustinandJess
@JustinandJess День назад
I was charging it at 1000 watts while recording this so the fans were running. But even then, it's pretty quiet with the cabinet closed. It's typically inaudible while powering smaller electronics like Starlink and virtually silent compared to a gas generator while running.
День назад
@@JustinandJess got it. I'm considering getting one. I know the Delta Pro 3 was just announced, but most likely I can get this Delta Pro for like half the price of the new Delta Pro 3. And I'm in Europe, so as far as I understand, not much has changed besides adding one extra solar panel charging port. But as I plan to install this on my small van, I won't have that many panels to begin with it. Considering getting this and maybe swap the fans for Noctua Redux fans for whisper quiet operation. Just don't know if I wait or not to see if the European version of the Delta Pro 3 will bring something interesting

Supertelephoto or a telescope. But that's only one ingredient. Composition is also important (ingredient 2). For some compositions, such as an extremely huge moon, you need to find the right spot for a direct line of sight of your subject and the moon. Ingredient #3: Google satellite. Ingredient #4: Depth of field calculator, if you want to gauge how much blur you're willing to tolerate.

@@JavaoftheLava that's like complaining to a photographer for showing you a detailed photo of the moon. I just zoomed in. That's it. The background appears larger relative to the subject because the camera has moved. It's just a matter of framing and composition... no "tricks of light" involved.

@@JavaoftheLava That is literally the size of the background relative to the subject based on the camera's location (which is just standing further away). Nothing's being warped, distorted, or misrepresented. I'd recommend checking out some long-form videos on lens compression to educate yourself... it's used in all types of photography and videography (like movies) to offer different perspectives when framing shots. I think you'll have a better understanding of lens optics and how this isn't some deceptive trick, but a principle of photography that enables artists to make better photos and videos for you.

We purchased the service for RVs called Roam. As far as I am aware, the residential service will not work if you are moving service addresses. In other words, I think you will be automatically charged more for the room service if you are moving. Also, the room service has the lowest priority data in congested areas and the upload speed is lower than residential customers.

I do this with my phone's telephoto camera occasionally too if I don't have my camera. My Samsung Galaxy S23 has a pretty great optical zoom and offers decent compression.
