All things historic and modern in railfanning within Pennsylvania and the northeast region!
Hi! My name is Collin, and I am the PA & Northeastern Railfan! This channel creates videos about trains, railroad-related content, and other interesting sights and explorations primarily within Pennsylvania and the northeast of the United States, but also occasional visits to other railroads and locations throughout the country. Common railroads shown include the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern (RBMN), Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway (LGSR), Norfolk Southern (NS), Strasburg Railroad, Northern Central Railroad of York, PA, The East Broad Top Railroad, WK&S, and many more. Many videos consist of historic steam and vintage diesel locomotives, however, modern-day freight and passenger trains also make appearances. Please enjoy and railfan away!
Uploads are at a minimum of once a month. I do my best to keep them going weekly though! Additional uploads can occur at any time between monthly uploads.
Would absolutely love to see 1218 make it back on the rails again! I know she’s missing a lot of parts and people say she’s too big of a locomotive, but she was designed to run on the east coast rails! I realize that’s it’s probably far fetched, but it would be awesome! ❤❤
The steam locomotives we still have here in Sweden is not even close as grand as the American locomotives, I’d say the only European steam locomotive that’d sit with the American locos is The Flying Scotsman.
I loved the opening shot where you had steam, electric, and diesel all in view at once. Glad you got to visit the museum finally. Nice seeing 611 though I miss having her at Strasburg. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks Jamie! Yeah I wish I would’ve filmed more of the trains that past while I was there, probably could’ve made a whole other video lol. It definitely is a nice museum to visit though, and it was nice to see 611 again, and even though it might not be Strasburg, hopefully she runs next year.
It’s not so much that something happened, it was basically just that there was a decent list of maintenance that needed to be done to improve its condition, and as they took it apart to make those repairs they found other things that should be addressed. This along with other factors led Norfolk Southern to move to a one engine program (611), and eventually decided to end the steam program all together, leading 1218 to not operate again
