Hi everyone, my name is Jiamin and i'm a media enthusiast with a passion for the sport of running. I use to live a sedentary lifestyle and I want to take you into my journey through fitness and hopefully i can inspire someone to get into this sport or just take a plunge into a healthier and happier lifestyle! I'm a non elite runner that never participated in track or cross country during school and i'm going to share with you my trials and tribulations of getting into running at a later age. I hope you guys enjoy the videos. As always please like and subscribe!
Great video! I might do this as my first marathon in the fall. How was your recovery in the days after the race? If I did it I’d also be exploring some of the national parks in that region and would ideally want to do some light hiking
A really great & very helpful tutorial, & explained in such a way that it is easy to understand, fabulous 😊 I absolutely love mine, I now dont know how I would ever train/race without it ❤ Thank you so much!
Did you guys do a day hike? I am planning on doing it this upcoming weekend but I dont have enough time to camp there… I want to do the hike in one day
I’ve used the ZoomX Dragonfly Spike in 1600, 3200, and 5000 meter It’s a very comfortable and good racing spike for cross country and track which I’m definitely going to be using this spike for my upcoming season of track & field.
Hey there. A bit late 😅. I’m mainly a 16 and 32 runner with the occasional 8. Since I’m mostly going to double is the dragonfly a better choice since maybe it can save my legs better for my next race? Or are victories the better choice in this scenario.
just bought this exact same pair new on ebay. I've been eying them up in this orange colorway for probably a year but was waiting for asking prices to drop. I got them for $75.00. I don't plan on using them for running just casual wear. I've never owned a pair of Terra Kigers but I do own 3 pairs of Pegasus Tral 3s so I'm hoping the comfort is around the same level. I know the terra kigers are zoom and react while the pegasus is just react but i also own some regular pegasus 39s with air zoom and they are really comfy.
You got a nice deal on the kigers. They’re comfortable and very light and great on very mild trails. Compared to the newest model not much has changed. They are the fastest trail shoes you can get besides the Ultrafly now. Trail 3s are well balanced shoes but I really like the 4 which feels like a regular Pegasus but for trails.
Great video! I'm running it later this month. ... I'm concerned about the change in 'time zones'... and 'eating too much before race day' (this is my first real destination marathon, there is LOTS to think about and prep for). ... Again, great tips. Thank you!!
Good luck! If you can get there a few days early to give your body time to adjust that’ll be good. You should be fine as the excitement will make your body prepare for this race even though it’s far way. Just make sure you set your alarm. There are many Italian restaurants around Berlin so if you want to pasta load that would be safe bet. Just be aware that there could be long wait for tables and food the night before if your close to downtown.
Much appreciated. ... Long run tomorrow, then it's 'taper-time' for the last 2 weeks... and taking care of details/packing, etc.. ... And, yes, getting there early to adjust to the time-change is a great and smart idea.
Wow, thank you for this. My wife and I are heading to Jordan Pond this morning to do the loop and then popovers afterwards. Great video. Looks beautiful. Can’t wait. Thank you.
Berlin marathon specific merch was pretty much adidas which had the largest section at the end of the expo. Other brands were in the expo but I did not see any marathon merchandise from them. If you pre ordered the merchandise during registration which I would recommend since some items were limited, be prepared for a huge line getting the items.
Thank you for the great video. What was the toilet situation at the Berlin marathon like? On the event map it just shows toilets at the start and the finish.
There were portapotty in the starting corrals on the side of the streets in the beginning too. Along the route there were big blue euro ports pottys as well. I didn’t stop in them but I did see a bunch of them.
I just bought the Pace 2 a month ago, replacing my Garmin Forerunner 45. It is SUCH an improvement. The battery life is amazing. I love the way it looks, it finds GPS much, much faster, the Bluetooth connection always works with my iphone, which for some reason was often an issue with my Garmin: I'd have to turn off the phone and turn it on again to reestablish the connection. I also love the Coros's overall look (I have the dark blue rubber band) . So many cool watch faces to choose from. For me, the two-button design is also much better. I also appreciate the Pool Swim option since I also swim. Sometimes the link to Strava is a little slow but it always works (with Garmin it linked up immediately). Very happy I made the switch. (Wanted to add: since I always run with an iPod shuffle clipped to my waistband, I never used the music feature in my Garmin Forerunner so I don't miss it at all.)
I’m glad you switched as well. You highlighted almost all the reasons why o switched. Not having music is sometimes annoying but I have a waist band that can hold my phone.
I bought these -- must have been the second generation because they had added pockets on the inside. There seems to be an even newer version now with a zipper pocket on the outside at the center back and a drawstring. I bought the Medium and should have bought the Small: on me (5'7", 133 lbs or so) they always looked baggy, especially in the front crotch area as there's no contouring in the cut like you find on Nike compression shorts. I also found the inseam just a little too long. They were comfortable enough but I ended up selling them after having them for a few years and rarely wearing them. I also found the fabric weirdly stretchy (like almost pleated in texture). Nice review!
I'm 5'8" 165lbs with big quads (powerlifting background) and the medium aeroswifts fit perfect. Nike has been slackin' on restocking these half tights.
The water stations were plenty with water and it looked like blue Gatorade. They did have gels and food later on too. Only thing is the cups are short and hard plastic so it’s almost impossible to fold and sip while running which makes it difficult since i almost chocked couple times. You can bring your own water as well.
Good advice. Soft massage under foot and good supportive footwear. I tore my plantar fascia near my third toe over four months ago and it is still problematic . I decided to get treatment. I have had prolotherapy on my foot but only one session so far. The foot arch feels stronger but more tingling with it. Two more sessios to go of prolotherapy on the foot. I am starting to develop plantar fascia problems on my other foot now probably due to a weak arch, flat foot, lack of use and overloading the foot. But l am glad you mentioned the sandals as this brand l was looking at to buy. Has your sypmtoms gone away or bother you still.?
It happened when I started running but once I healed it never popped up again thankfully. It’s different for everyone as some people heal quicker and others little slower but paying attention to it and making an effort to heal it quicker will bring faster results
