Hello there! I'm Jo :) Welcome for some Watercolour, Gouache, digital art with a bit of Animation. I have a background in Animation, Storyboarding, Concept art and illustration. Looking forward to having this as great creative outlet! See you in the next Vlog :)
I don't know how I missed this post, but what a fun and gratifying adventure you have had! I always love to hear what you're working on and what new experiences you've had. I'm looking forward to more of your posts!!
I just found this one and loved watching this - thank you, Jo! I became so relaxed and soothed by the visuals, stories, music, and your pleasant voice that I've started drifting off to the loveliest of dreamlands. Wonderful illustrations of the mermaids. You are a delight!
Hi Jo! New subscriber here :) I’m Francesca I’m also half Swedish! I live in Italy and unfortunately my mom never taught me swedish, so yeah, well, that’s an opportunity lost :/ But I want to connect more in the future with my swedish family, I’m 35 now, with an autoimmune disease that hits my connective tissues…I wonder if that’s the reason I’m all about making connections lately 😂 (btw my English is so and so, I hope to be able to express myself without sounding creepy or whatever). I really really liked this vlog, the ink illustration and the subject, I like ghost stories too, especially from folklore! I’ve read a ton of Japanese stories, if you’re interested let me know I’ll give you some names (authors, books) to lookup! It was lovely to see you paint with a relaxing music, I’ve learn a trick or two watching you, thank you so much for sharing your painting process and your lovely thoughts and feelings! Meow see you soon!
I have a same romantic connections and feelings about places, nature, art, music and friends! Is it love, isn’t it? I’m frustrated that I don’t have specific words to say "love for friend" "love for nature" as I think Ancient Greek has.
How did I miss this latest post?!? I live in Northern California, so if you want to see redwoods, you are welcome to come crash with me any time! There is Rancho Obi-Wan, a nonprofit museum in Petaluma, California that has the Guinness World Record largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia - there may be some Ewoks there. Lucas Films is in the Presidio, and though they don't offer tours, there is a Yoda fountain and they allow people to visit that and the gardens. I have not been, but it is likely quite lovely. I have been to the Disney museum, which rotates what it shows, an that is also in the Presidio. I have one scary story that started sweet about raccoons and one sweet story about raccoons. I'll tell you the sweet one. We were going in to have dinner at a restaurant on the water in the Berkeley Marina. We saw a man who had clearly been fishing for crab, and he had a large bag of cheetoh puffs and would pull one out of the bag and bend over the fence with it and when his hand came back up it was gone. Me, being the curious one, I looked to see what he was doing with the puffs and there was a mama raccoon surrounded by several babies and she was taking the puffs right from his hand and eating them up. It was so stinkin' cuuuuute! Your heart would have melted. Anyhoozle, I love your "ramblings" and your art style, and the animation is just so GOOD! By the way- you are AMAZING- not just with art, but experiences, storytelling, filming, and so many languages! I just find your posts so genuine and refreshing. Hope all is well with you! PS- that invitation to California stands. Look forward to seeing another video soon! Blessings to ya! -Marisol
PS- (now that watched through the sketching part) I used to call my brother tumbleweed when he was little, because he would just tumble all over the place, and my brother and I practically know every line to The Three Amigos by heart, we still quote it. And I had a little mini Pomeranian I named Buttercup and would sing her the "My Little Buttercup" song from the movie!
I love that you wanted to be in the army! I wanted to be the first person on Mars!! It doesn’t look as though I’ll live long enough to see the first person get there but I’ve never forgotten it. I ended up being a nurse…go figure. I love spending time with you and Margot and I love your animations and painting. Keep going Jo. Your unique take on life is an inspiration to many of us. God bless you and guide you on your path.
Thank you! ah that's really cool! I doubt I'll be around to see that too lol. That's great, my sister is studying to be a nurse and i think it all sounds so interesting what she is learning. Huge respect for the profession! Thank you so much for the kind words and thank you for keeping me company! I hope you are having a lovely day! ❤️✨
Hello from Sweden, Jo 🤗❤️ I love, love, älskar your style. So uniquemand colorful. It awakens the child in me and at the same time inspires the artist in me. It's just wonderful! I'm sure you've already thought of this, but just in case...... Way back when I painted a lot I always had the water and palette on my left side. It just felt natural to do things from left to right, even though I'm right handed. The tendons in my right shoulder had another opinion and convinced me that having the stuff to my right side was preferable. I have never looked back since. Maybe you've already tried it, but if you haven't, go for it. Sending a big hug from Bollnäs, Hälsingland. /Gitte 🤗🌞💖
Jo, I lost you when I cleaned out my channel. I enjoyed your ramblings, I hope you get a chance to return to the States, and I hope you get a chance to see Louisiana. Swamps... ok, Louisiana has its share of them. I almost did not find you again, because I did not remember your last name. Keep your spirits high you a wonderful video maker.
I am so glad you found me again! 🙂 Thank you i will definitely make my way back to the States in the future to check out Louisiana. Thank you so much, am glad you enjoy the vlogs! Hope you are having a lovely day! ✨❤️
Best American road trip hands down is traveling Historic Route 66. And fireflies come out early summer! Or if you have a lot of time (a month or more) see all the National Parks, you'll be able to experience ALL the diversity of our landscapes. ❤
That sounds really interesting, Thank you! Ill read up a bit about route 66. I would love to check out some national parks for sure! Oh and think you for the tip on when the fireflies are out I'll try and time it for that ✨ Thank you so much! ❤️
Howdy Jo, I’ve been watching your channel for the past year and have fallen in love with your style 🫶🏻 I’m from Texas but live in Utah currently as part of my tumbleweed era - I’ll definitely join your biker gang when you roll into town haha much love from SLC
I did not expect to see the Pearls of Life prayer beads intersecting with art content--the crossover I didn't know I needed! I should pull mine out again.
The theme to Mysterious Cities of Gold is absolutely amazing. And you are correct about the fever dream. I stumbled accross MCoG on Netflix around 2014 or so, after not seeing it since 80's Nickelodeon. And I was absolutely in shock as all the memories came flooding back like a tidal wave. Practically a religious experience. Glad I'm not the only one.
I know it's truly an awesome and well made theme! haha that's a good comparison the religious experience 😄 Glad I'm not the only one too! Childhood before the internet am I right?!
I don’t let my 6yo watch any RU-vid content but your vlogs are the only exception! We love watching them together, while drawing or coloring at the same time. You are such an inspiration ❤
Hey Jo, I don't know if its helpful, but most people nowadays live alone and studies have shown that after 30 the phase of loneliness starts. Loneliness is also according to studies in the west like a epidemic - causing a lot of stress through Depression. So you are totally not alone at this. And we are all going through this wobbly. 🕊️🍀🌷🍀🕊️
Hello! Thank you so much that is helpful 🥰 That's also why I talked about it so anybody out there watching can know they aren't alone in a way too if that makes sense? I hope you are well and having a lovely weekend! 😊✨
I love your analysis on walking around without a manual or instructions. 😂 I believe we’re all on the same walkabout ❤ it. It’s so insightful for you to be able to put it into words. 😊
I'm so glad to see you again, I missed you. I love hearing about your life. I don't think you are egotistical at all. I think you have a kind and loving spirit. You are also crazy talented! Did you study art or is just a natural talent. Looking forward to the next one. Jo in the US x
Thank you so much. I missed you all too! I truly appreciate the kind words, it means a lot thank you 🥰 I had art as a major in high school but I haven't gone to an art school per se. I have just always loved drawing😊 Thank you! Have a lovely weekend! ✨
Wow you are so talented, how you catch the light and the layers, it invokes so many warm feelings looking at your paintings, or video collage. You are so talented - have you thought of brining a calendar out, maybe in a online print on demand shop??? Much love, Emina 🕊️🌿🌷🌿🕊️
Ooo, your video popped onto my feed & from your intro, all the shots of little beautiful moments, I just knew you were my kinda person! Listening to you chat solidified it, I resonated with so much of what you said (I hate talking about myself too) 😊 P.S. the Practical Magic kitchen (entire house!) is my dream too ✨
