Hey William, Basics of this war. It's not that Russia wants to annex some of Ukrainian regions, it is about erasing Ukraine and its people as a state and a seperate culture, too. So this war is not stricly about Donbass, Crimea, etc. It's a survival war for Ukraine
Russia is constantly conscripting. Big conscription rounds caused too much unrest, so they're now doing it in small numbers. The Kremlin is trying to turn the whole country into a war machine. Many citizens are forced to become defenders; guards, police, people who work for oil companies, etc are forced to defend the country. Every Russian is just one step away from being forced to fight in Ukraine.

2013 Ukraine discovers a huge oil field under Donbas. 2014 Russia muscles in to take it. If it is about anything else, then a settlement would give the oil field to Ukraine.
Russia 's friendship without limits with China will lead the return of Communism. If Russia wins Ukraine then Georgia, Moldova and Kazakhstan is next. China lusts after Russian eastern land and will have open access creating a land empire from the Baltic Sea to Yellow Sea
At what point does Ukraine give up the Donbass in exchange for it being independent and not part of Russia? If Trump wins this will be imposed on Ukraine. Hopefully, France sends troops since China is so involved
So, in conclusion, you haven't got any more idea than the rest of us, but you support the demoncrats, the ones responsible for this war starting in the first place, and have lead Ukraine to the dismal situation it is now in.
The problem is that other countries in the world value human life, while russia does not. For russia it's just meat and resources. I'm worried that if russia strikes, the rest of the countries will continue trying to talk with russia and beg it to stop because they have something that they are afraid of losing (everything), but russia is nuts and won't be afraid to lose anything. Talking to russia is like talking to a terrorist with a bomb that's threatening to blow everyone if they won't do exactly as they want.
A solution that would be interesting; Us could give Ukraine back the nuclear weapons they gave up in an agreement that was not honoured. With nukes Ukraine could respond and it might limit Russia using them.
I think Trump will actually increase aid to Ukraine not reduce it. When politicians move lips you know they are probably lying. So I would not hold my breath. Did Mexico pay for a border wall? Do people still cross the southern border? I think answers to these questions show that Trump is mainly the same as other politicians that want to take your money. This does not mean that I don't want Trump to crush Biden. I don't like Biden even more, but Trump is not honest either.
It's not just the monetary aid, Trump could pull starlink support from Ukraine and leave them blind and deaf. The Ukrainian resistance would collapse in a matter of months at most.
This is war, destruction happens. Are the people crying about the destruction also crying about what the US did in WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and so on. Russia is making a bit of advance, even Zelensky's spy master is saying they are loosing badly. Oh the $61 billion, even the Pres said most of it is going to the Military Contractors and Businesses and not to Ukraine. They said they earmarked $7 Billion to pay their soldiers and government workers and sent a feeble amount of weapons that won't change anything on the front!
Need to go back to 1948 not 1939. By 1948 the World suddenly was confronted with a litany of nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them which is still true today now more so than ever. A sound basis for discussing this matter is the 2+4 agreement and absolutely *NOT* World War 2 1939-1945 let alone 1939 specifically when Nazi 3rd Reich Germany was *ALLIED* with Stalin USSR for invading Poland so no we're not here today to relive the ahem "glory days" ahem of 1939. The purpose of any use of force/formal intervention *WE HOPE* is to create the conditions for a diplomatic solution as opposed to what is happening currently meaning specifically in the former to *END THE WAR* but in the case of the latter to remind whatever it is that is attempting to kill off all Ukraine people and their Independence that such a condition will be met by opposition in same said. Any comparison to 1812 as has already been made is even *MORE ABSURD* than comparing to 1939.
