also, You don't have to worry about someone stealing your radio, IT WONT WORK (unless it is Reprogrammed with a GM scan Tool....AND you need a SUBSCRIPTION to GM to be able to access the Programming feature; which means that GM will have all your personal Information)
Hello. Do you have the full error code message? If it says “resistance firing circuit..”, this process should be able to help. If it says “belt tensioner, rear right..”, it might be your passenger belt tensioner disconnected or the belt charge has fired. Please get a bmw specific scan tool so you get the actual error for your vehicle. Hope that information helps. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H
That is our goal, to make educational videos. Thank you for the kind words. Hope it helps with your thermostat replacement. Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
I have big hands. Just the simple step of disconnecting the wiring from the headlight bulb, made getting the bulb seated so easy for me. I'm not paying anymore mechanics with smaller hands to do it. Thank you.
Lol. Yes, big hands make it more challenging, but still doable. Glad our video is able to guide you on the replacement. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H
I still have a serious problem with my 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser with a 2.0 gasoline engine. Here’s what’s happening: Bubbling and boiling coolant: On average, every 100-200 km, the coolant starts to boil. The experts said it’s not the head gasket because there was no CO2 in the coolant. We replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap, but the problem persists. Coolant being pushed to the overflow tank: It seems that coolant from the main circuit is being pushed to the overflow tank and not returning to the main circuit. We have to regularly add coolant to the main circuit to prevent the engine from overheating, but after some time, there is too little coolant in the main circuit again. Over the past month, we have added 5 liters of coolant. Coolant leaking outside: Coolant is being pushed to the overflow tank and then leaks outside because the overflow tank is above the overflow hole. What could be causing the blockage of the coolant return? Is it possible that something else is damaged in the cooling system?
Hello. Your radiator/cooling system is clogged up with rust particles. Remove the radiator, and flush the system with a garden hose. Catch the water coming out of the system and when you flush it and you will see rust particles coming out. Replace the radiator. If you have a non-turbo, it is very easy to replace. In short, because your radiator is clogged up, when the vehicle is on load, the pressure from the waterpump is too great for the radiator due to the clog, and diverts the hot coolant back to the expansion tank. So the coolant in the expansion tank is coolant from the engine that is not cooled down. Anyway, as mentioned, please replace the radiator before any damage happens to the engine from continuous overheating. That should fix your issue. Thanks for watching! -Rjeff H2H
Hey dear friend, your video is a very, very helpful and you make a steel by step so nice. I like your style easy way and my friend. I have a Mercedes-Benz ML350 4 Matic. I have an issue my radio come on first time when I start after go to Anote and system please if you know help me out I really really appreciate I’ll send you description how to display screen. Anti-theft protection activated. Please switch the ignition on and restart the system.
Hello. From what you describe, unfortunately, only a dealer can unlock your radio. They have the dealer only scanner to use for the radio to make it work. Sorry I could not help- Rjeff H2H
Excellent tutorial I have found a hose about 8-10 inches long to work over the end of spark plug to remove once loose. This gets you around the obstructing bar.
So, when you bought this i8, the compressor was load, but still functional? And when you had the refrigerant evacuated, you are still able to drive and charge the battery?
Hello. Just curious, what caused yours to shatter? Mine just shattered overnight, no reason at all. Just trying to figure out what causes this to do that. Let me know. Thanks for watching1 - Rjeff H2H
If you are doing this on a weekday, and you get the chance, pass by kaaterskill falls. It is worth it if you go on a weekday. But don’t go on a weekend as it will be packed. Its a great trip. Take lots of pics/vids! Enjoy! -Rjeff H2H
Hello. I think you need to ask Porsche why they used mediocre glue on your $180k headliner, instead if criticizing someone a person trying to solve a common Porsche issue. And as the title states, this is just an alternative repair, trying to help others. Why are so offended by it? Is it so terrible to share an alternative solution? If you have a better solution, please free to share. But please keep in mind that this is a problem out of the factory. And that not all Porsche owners are as rich as you are. Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
Bro thank you for this video, every other video ive watched had me so confused on how to get to the nozzle through the hood, you showed the access port and my problem was the same as yours, hose came unplugged lol
Hello! Happy our video was able to help. Just fyi, my hose got loose again. I had to add zip tie on top of putting tape. Volkswagen really should improve this connection. Lol. .Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
Hello. Sorry, I have not encountered a bad AC compressor on this vehicle. Please check first as you might just be low on refrigerant. I have a video on how to add refrigerant in the AC system. Hope that helps! - Rjeff H2H
Awesome job! This is a $3k job at BMW, if it fails in a couple of years at least it’ll match the OEM 😂. Seriously probably needs re oiling from time to time. Or yearly temp check of the compressor using laser gun.
Thanks! Where did you get a $3k quote? I was quoted way higher than that, which is why I decided to diy. If you saw the compressor I removed, it was barely 3 years old. I will make frequent updates to help others. Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
@@How2HelenActually it was a bmw specialty shop. Do you know anything about the PAG oil this thing uses? I thought it wasn’t recommended for hybrids due to being electrically conductive?
Also, do you know the size bolts each of these things are held on with, because last time I tried to change the spark plugs I had to go through 3 different people to find the right socket size wrench to remove everything. 😅
Hello. On your first comment, my apologies, as this was a coworker’s relatives car. And I do not have access to the vehicle anymore to check where the iac location is. For the bolts on removing the spark plugs and coils, I did make a video for that. I will link it below. Hope it helps! Don’t think this is the issue to my car I have a 2022 civic sport and the AC and heater is not working I have it on full blast but there is no out put this just started recently wonder what the problem with it is
Hello, I will try to help diagnose the issue. From what you mentioned, do you mean there is no air blowing when you turn it on? It might be the blower motor, or the switch resistor. Best way is to try to check on the fuses first, just to eliminate any issue on that part. Please give me more details so we can diagnose further. Thank - Rjeff H2H
@@How2Helen when I turn it on it will work for a few minutes but than it stops blowing air and I just hear it struggling so I just stopped turning it on don’t want to further damage it
@@takeovamxbc3403 It sounds like your blower motor is either getting stuck, or it's on its way out. Blower motor should not be hard to replace. Usually it is just behind the glove compartment, and you remove/ replace it from the bottom. Check first if maybe there is something in there that is getting the motor stuck and could not rotate freely. Let me know what you find! good luck! - Rjeff H2H
@@How2Helen yea I’m 99% sure it’s something with the blower motor getting stuck it turns on and than dies out makes some noises I’m taking it to the dealer in a couple days hopefully it’s not expensive or they try to charge me still got the 36,000 mile warranty and it doesn’t expire until October
@@How2Helen thanks you were very helpful I’ll ask them what was causing the problem and update you won’t surprise me if it’s twigs getting it stuck because I changed the cabin filter thinking it would solve the problem and it had a good size twig and the filter was pretty dark car has under 13,000 miles but in the area I live there is always tons of dust from construction and dump trucks
Hello. Thanks for the advise. This recording was actually rushed as the tow truck was about to come to pick up the Golf to junk it. It broke a belt and wasn't logical to get it fixed. You can see it towed at the end of the video. Sad day, lol. Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
Thanks Pat! I have been following you for a while now, and you answered a few of my questions last year. One of my videos is dedicated to you, I just forgot to put my shoutout clip on the video, Lol. Stay tuned as I am continuing where you left off. I will surprise you. Thanks for your support! -Rjeff H2H
I've purchased my Autel AL319 in 2016 after seeing the dealer use it to troubleshoot a code. No regrets except that I didn't purchase it sooner. Edit: back then the AL319 cost 21.00.
Hello! Same here, but it was my local mechanic who recommended it to me. He said to check my car myself first to save money, before I bring it to him for state inspection. No more guesswork if my car will pass or not. Lol! Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H
Just an FYI. If you drop a nut, torx, bolt etc. into the engine bay, like me, try banging on the Underbody Shield. I heard, then saw my bit bouncing about and was able to fish it out with a telescopic magnet in a minute or two.
Hello. Just a thought. On our videos, those were oem motors/housing. If yours is taped together, then someone was in there already and taped it together to prevent it water from coming in. I have not heard anyone else have their housing taped together when they got it out, so you might be the exception. They are not taped together from the factory. Thanks for watching!-Rjeff H2H
@@How2Helen Interesting to hear that. The first time it was replaced under warranty at a BMW dealer, they wrapped it in tape. I think my motor actually works but has leaked the fluid. The top has always gone down but struggled to come up and just got worse and worse, now it wont move up at all. It may take a while but I'll get this relocated eventually. I wouldn't have an issue opening/closing it manually but the wire that allows for that doesn't seem to work either
Would you know how/where it leaked the fluid? Also, check the bypass button on the roof motor assembly, if it is stuck in bypass mode, it will not build pressure and with less and less pressure will cause to not move the top. It might just be that. See towards the end of the video to locate the bypass button that usually gets stuck. Let me know what you find and how you resolved it so I can document it on my side. I try to provide these information to those who inquire and need them. Good luck and thanks for reaching out! -Rjeff H2H
Always clean both slide pins with brake cleaner and buff with a copper wire wheel chucked in a drill. Also clean the inside barrels with an ID brass wire brush....respray with brake cleaner....let dry....now apply fresh high temp grease to pins and bores. There is a bushing that the bolt goes through that needs tapped out with a hammer and cleaned, brushed, rinsed off and fresh greased. Re-install bushing...now slide caliper back onto top slide pin and let caliper swing down and install bolt. I actually clean and regrease my slide pins every 1-2 years and the pads last way longer and brakes stay working perfect!
Hello. Did they at least replace the ac compressor, or any part of the ac system? If not, that would be annoying, but still not bad. Average price here in NYC for an evacuate, recharge/refill of refrigerant is around $300 nowadays. You just got a dealer price if that’s all they did. Thanks for your input! -Rjeff H2H
@@How2Helen Not at all. They said there were only a few parts within the AC unit that were included in the recall. They couldn't find anything after the diagnostic dye test. Just refilled it. A year later it's out again.
@@Mr.NotYourPALGuy I am so sorry to hear that. This is actually the reason I decided to work on my own cars, and help others. Sometimes you really have to take matters in your own hands if you want it done right. Anyway, my suggestion is just find a reputable mechanic, get the latest revision for the AC compressor, which I believe where the leak is, and have it replaced. One repair, and be over it. Or, just buy yourself some refill cans like in the video, and just refill the system when it is low on refrigerant. Please share on what you decide to do, and hopefully, it would help others make their decision as well. Hoping for the best. Good luck! - Rjeff H2H
I got the motor out by tying a piece of rope to it, pulled up, and broke all the ties. Had it out in 20 minutes. the motor replaced 35 minutes total, maybe. 👍 good vid, tho helped alot. ❤
Wow, using a rope to pull it out is very creative! I will add that to our suggestion list, it would help others with that technique. Thanks for sharing your experience! Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H
Hello. Your armada’s fan has a low speed and high speed relay. When your engine is still cold, and you turn on your ac, check if your fan turns on. Low speed fan should turn on when compressor engages. If it does not, start with you relay, then wiring to the fan. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching! -Rjeff H2H
Thsts an E85 model. Mine is the E89, one if the bestlookung bmws mase. Just had a 3.1K£ bill for a new motor due to water ingress, totally fused and melted all the wiring. The gatage cant find the water ingress pount tho so it will happen again. I've told the E89 that if it happens again, he's getting turned into a cube, so hopefully, he will take notice.
Hello. I believe the console courtesy light is standard across all Z4s. I would advise to try to fish out the bulbs as they may be shorted out and causing your battery drain if the door switch is broken and is always "on". There should be two bulbs in there, one in the upper cabinet and one on the lower cubie. Please keep us posted on what you find. Thank you for watching.- Rjeff H2H
