BMW i8 Shifter Faceplate Remove (industrial Strength double-sided tape) 

Hard to remove faceplate shifter.
The purpose of removing this is to access and replace the gear selector indicator circuit board on the shifter lever. A common issue not just on i8s, but across bmw vehicles.
If you can avoid scratching the chrome shifter, please let me know how you did it.
